The Early College at Guilford (ECG) is ranked as the number one public high school in the nation, according to the U.S. News & World Report. It has approximately 200 students and is located in Greensboro, North Carolina. The school was started in 2002 as a partnership between Guilford College and Guilford County Schools as the first early college high school in North Carolina, allowing students to graduate with a high school diploma and up to two years of college credit from Guilford College.The mission of The Early College at Guilford is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by providing exceptionally challenging educational opportunities that support academic development at the highest standards. Through building bridges at the earliest opportunity between high school, college, and beyond, the Early College at Guilford seeks to awaken and mature the creative, social, and academic abilities of students. The school strives to foster multi-dimensional leadership in varied contexts so that students may succeed in higher education and beyond. The Early College at Guilford offers a writing-intensive, fast-paced curriculum. In ninth and 10th grade, students take honors and Advanced Placement courses. 11th and 12th graders are enrolled in Guilford College courses and take courses taught directly by Guilford College professors alongside Guilford College students. Generally, only two courses at the college level - English and Physical Science - are necessary to fulfill their high school graduation requirements. All other college courses are electives. A college professor serves as their academic advisor, helping them choose among the college’s offerings. In the spirit of Guilford’s liberal arts mission, students explore all areas of the college’s curriculum. Each semester students select courses that bridge at least two academic divisions and three academic departments.The cost of tuition for all Guilford College courses is covered by both Guilford County Schools and the state of North Carolina via funding through the Innovative Education Initiatives Act.

Guilford College is a private liberal arts college in Greensboro, North Carolina. Guilford has both traditional students and students who attend its Center for Continuing Education (CCE). Founded in 1837 by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), Guilford's program offerings include such majors as Peace and Conflict Studies and Community and Justice Studies, both rooted in the college's history as a Quaker institution. Ragan-Brown Field House is a 2,500-seat multi-purpose arena located on the campus of Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina known for its distinctive cathedral-like wooden ceiling. The arena is named in honor of Herbert and Elizabeth Ragan and Edwin and Dorothy Brown and was dedicated in 1980. In 2003 the arena underwent a substantial renovation project and currently serves as the home for the Guilford Quakers basketball and volleyball programs.

Kimrey-Haworth House is a historic home located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. It was built about 1925, and is a two-story, five bay by three bay, frame dwelling in the Renaissance Revival style faced with brick. It has a hipped roof covered by rounded Spanish-style red tiles, a brick chimney, and deep overhanging eaves. The front facade features a one-story wooden segmental arched portico supported by wooden Doric order columns. Also on the property is a contributing complementary garage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

AHA International School (formerly American Hebrew Academy until 2020) was intended to be an international college-preparatory school located in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was to be open to students of all faiths but was originally founded as a Jewish international school, American Hebrew Academy, the only such school in the world for boarding and day students between 9th and 12th grade. The coeducational school's 100-acre (40 ha) campus was designed by Aaron Green, protégé of renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The school closed in June 2019 but later announced plans to reopen for the 2021–2022 school year.

B'nai Shalom Day School is an independent Jewish day school in Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. The school was founded in August 1970 as a Solomon Schechter Day School and originally called the North Carolina Hebrew Academy at Greensboro. In 1979, the name was changed to B’nai Shalom. In the 1980s, B’nai Shalom elected to join the Jewish Community Day School Network.

The 1947 U.S. Women's Open was the second U.S. Women's Open, held June 26−29 at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. Betty Jameson won her only U.S. Women's Open, six strokes ahead of runners-up Polly Riley and Sally Sessions, both amateurs. She entered the final round on Sunday with a two shot lead at 225 (−3) and carded a six-under 70. It was the second of her three major championships. Jameson was the runner-up the previous year, conducted in a match play format. Defending champion Patty Berg finished ninth, third among the professionals.

Pilot Life Insurance Company Home Office in Sedgefield, North Carolina outside Greensboro is a historic campus which once served as the headquarters of Pilot Life Insurance Company, founded in 1903 and merged with Jefferson Standard Insurance in 1967 to form Jefferson Pilot Corporation. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places in July 2022. The first of the buildings began construction in 1927, and the last contributing building was built in 1965. A history of Jefferson-Pilot written in 2003 stated that the headquarters was "a careful replication of the governor's mansion built in 1767 in New Bern."In 1930, Jefferson Standard Insurance Company gained a controlling interest in Pilot Life Insurance Co. In 1967, Pilot Life Insurance Co. and Jefferson Standard became Jefferson-Pilot Corporation. 800 Pilot Life employees moved into the Jefferson Standard Building and its 20-story addition in 1990. In 2008, Kisco Senior Living bought the Pilot Life buildings for $9.9 million. In January 2015, Kisco announced Pilot at Sedgefield, an updated version of a retirement community delayed by the economic crisis. As of 2022, Clachan Properties of Richmond, Virginia was buying the property to develop apartments.The National Register of Historic Places listing states that the Pilot Life campus is "the earliest-known, pioneering example of a modern suburban corporate headquarters campus in North Carolina" and "[w]ith its handsome Georgian Revival-style buildings replete with allegorical stone images lauding hard work, its layout designed for efficiency, its landscaped grounds, its fountain and lake, and its facilities for employee comfort and entertainment, the complex exemplified an early modern suburban 'corporate campus'".

The Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden is a historical garden and visitor center located in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was created in 1976 to recognize and honor the 200th anniversary of the United States (its bicentennial). The garden features a man-made circulating stream, a wedding gazebo, and a variety of artistic and historical sculptures. Throughout, many different plants and shrubs decorate the landscape including annuals, perennials, flowering trees, and canopy trees. Greensboro Beautiful is a non-profit organization that raises funds for the garden, while the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department oversees the events offered.

Greensboro Arboretum (17 acres) is an arboretum located in Lindley Park at 401 Ashland Drive, Greensboro, North Carolina. It is open to the public daily without charge.
