Greensboro Arboretum

Mock, Judson, Voehringer Company Hosiery Mill, also known as MoJud Hosiery Company and Rolane Factory Outlet Store, is a former hosiery production plant located at 2610 Oakland Avenue in Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. The company was founded in 1926, and operated until 1972. The plant was then shut down, except for a small portion used as an outlet store, until its final complete shutdown in 1999. The plant was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

The 1947 U.S. Women's Open was the second U.S. Women's Open, held June 26−29 at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. Betty Jameson won her only U.S. Women's Open, six strokes ahead of runners-up Polly Riley and Sally Sessions, both amateurs. She entered the final round on Sunday with a two shot lead at 225 (−3) and carded a six-under 70. It was the second of her three major championships. Jameson was the runner-up the previous year, conducted in a match play format. Defending champion Patty Berg finished ninth, third among the professionals.

Pomona High School, Former, also known as Lindley Junior High School, is a historic school building located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. The original section was built about 1920, and is a two-story, nine-bay, U-shaped, Classical Revival style building. Two projecting wings were added in 1940, and in 1951, the space was filled between the wings. It is faced with dark bricks accented with limestone, concrete, and terra cotta ornament. The building features a one-story limestone entrance portico supported by four Doric order columns. The school closed in 1979. It has been converted to apartments. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Friendly Center is a large, open-air mall located in northwestern Greensboro, North Carolina, near the interchange of Wendover Avenue and Friendly Avenue. The anchor stores at Friendly Center are Belk, Macy's and Harris Teeter.

The Greensboro Coliseum Complex, commonly referred to as Greensboro Coliseum (the first and biggest building on the site), is an entertainment and sports complex located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Opened in 1959, the complex holds eight venues that includes an amphitheater, arena, aquatic center, banquet hall, convention center, museum, theatre, and an indoor pavilion. It is the home of the UNC Greensboro Spartans men's basketball team, the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League, the Carolina Cobras of the National Arena League, as well as the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with their Men's and Women's basketball tournaments. It has hosted the Men's ACC Tournament twenty-three times since 1967 and the Women's ACC Tournament twelve times since 2000. Other notable sporting events include the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men's "Final Four" in 1974 and the East Regionals in 1976, 1979 and 1998. More recently, the Coliseum has hosted the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 2011, 2015, and 2020. It is also the former home of several professional hockey teams including the Greensboro Generals and Greensboro Monarchs of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes. The complex has hosted the "Central Carolina Fair" since 1999.

102 JAMZ' SuperJam was an annual summer concert starring some of the hottest artists in hip hop, hosted by Urban Contemporary radio station WJMH (102 JAMZ)/Greensboro, North Carolina. The show was held at the 20,000+ seat Greensboro Coliseum each year. Since launching the event in 1997, SuperJam has attracted thousands of listeners from North Carolina with numerous annual attendees traveling from locations throughout the United States. There were eighteen consecutive SuperJam concert events.

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic church in the Sunset Hills neighborhood of Greensboro, North Carolina. The church was erected as a memorial to Ethel Clay Price, a Catholic whose husband donated funds to build the church. The church was designed to resemble Our Lady of Refuge in Brooklyn, New York. The church is also host of Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, serving children from grades pre-k through 8.

The Bog Garden is a nature preserve, botanical garden, and city park located at 1101 Hobbs Road, Greensboro, North Carolina. It is open daily; admission is free. Originally part of Starmount Farms, the land that comprises the park was donated to the City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation department by the Starmount Company in 1987. A local primary care physician, Dr. Joe Christian, took interest in the area and worked with city staff, volunteers, and local nurseries to plan and rehabilitate the park into an example of a wetland environment using plants native to the area. In 2005, a 150-foot man-made waterfall was installed in the park, and dedicated in "Dr. Joe's" memory in 2007.The garden features a bog and lake that may be viewed from a half-mile long elevated boardwalk. Its plants include indigenous vegetation, with individually labeled trees, shrubs, ferns, and bamboo, as well as wildflowers and wild roses. The site is also a haven for native and migratory birds.

Wesley Long Hospital is a 175-bed acute-care facility located in Greensboro, North Carolina. The hospital was founded in 1917 by John Wesley Long, MD, a nationally known physician and surgeon, as a small 20-bed clinic. Today, Wesley Long is a 175-bed modern medical center and home to the Cone Health Cancer Center at Wesley Long. Wesley Long Hospital is a facility of Cone Health, a network of hospitals and physicians serving Guilford County, North Carolina and surrounding areas. On February 24, 1972, Wesley Long's board of trustees approved a 120-bed addition and other improvements to what was then a 225-bed hospital.On April 27, 1981, hospital administrator James Phelps was charged with accepting over half a million dollars in kickbacks during the late 1970s. Phelps, replaced by Ralph Holshouser Jr., pleaded guilty and served five years. The hospital did well for a while until changes in Medicare reimbursement. Wesley Long never recovered from the combination of the scandal and new Medicare rules, with a little over half its beds occupied by 1986. Moses Cone Memorial Hospital went through significant growth, while Wesley Long administrators avoided making many of the advances necessary to attract more patients. Dennis Barry led the hospital through changes that made it more competitive. But by 1996, with just over a third of its beds occupied, Wesley Long needed to either specialize or merge in order to continue doing well. The decision was made to merge with Cone.

Sunset Hills Historic District is a national historic district located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 912 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 13 contributing structures in a predominantly middle- to upper-class residential section of Greensboro. They were built between 1925 and 1965 and include notable examples of Colonial Revival architecture, Tudor Revival architecture, and Bungalow / American Craftsman architecture. Located in the district is Sunset Park.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The O. Henry Hotel is a hotel in Greensboro, North Carolina. The O. Henry is named after American writer and Greensboro native William Sydney Porter, whose pen name was O. Henry. The original hotel building, which was located in downtown Greensboro, was built in 1919 on the corner of Bellemeade and North Elm Street. It was the first of Greensboro's modern hotels, and one of the largest deluxe hotels in North Carolina, having over 300 rooms. The original hotel was closed in the 1960s. It was demolished in 1979 and a new hotel building was built in the late 1990s two miles from the original location. The O. Henry is privately owned by Quaintance-Weaver Restaurants & Hotels. The O. Henry is home to the restaurant the Green Valley Grill.
