Gotham, Nottinghamshire

St. Lawrence's Church, Gotham is a Grade I listed parish church in the Church of England in Gotham, Nottinghamshire. It is part of an informal grouping of five churches that are known collectively as "The 453 Churches" as they straddle the A453. The other churches in the group are: St. George's Church, Barton in Fabis St. Winifred's Church, Kingston on Soar Holy Trinity Church, Ratcliffe-on-Soar All Saints’ Church, Thrumpton

Barton in Fabis is a village and civil parish in the Rushcliffe district of Nottinghamshire. It has a population of about 250, being measured at 266 in the 2011 Census. The village is just south of Nottingham, being on the other side of the River Trent from Attenborough. A ferry, Barton Ferry, used to cross the River Trent to the Attenborough side near to the mouth of the River Erewash. A ferry crossed the River Trent at this point since before 1774. The name originates from an older name, "Barton in the Beans" (Fabis being Latin for 'bean', in the ablative plural), apparently referring to the beans grown in the village. This name was also used for a Leicestershire village, Barton in the Beans, which has retained its name.

Gotham Sidings , was a set of railway sidings on the Great Central Main Line, where the line crosses Gotham Moor near Gotham, Nottinghamshire. The sidings were set between Rushcliffe Halt and Ruddington railway station. The sidings were constructed between 1899 and 1900, after the completion of the London Extension in 1899, to serve a short branch line to the Limestone (plaster) works of the Gotham Company's works (later British Gypsum) situated in Gotham itself. The branch line closed in 1969. The route of the branch line from Gotham Junction can still be traced, and part of it is now used as a road.The Great Central Railway (Nottingham) have stated their intention to develop the site along the lines of Swithland Sidings, though there is no road access to the site, there are however farm tracks. The original Signal Box diagrams survive in Loughborough Central Museum.

Clifton South is a tram stop and Park & Ride site on the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) network. It is situated in the Borough of Rushcliffe, just to the south-west of the large City of Nottingham suburb of Clifton, on the A453. The Park & Ride site has a capacity of over 1000 cars. There is also an interchange with local bus services.The tram stop is the terminus of line 2 of the NET, to Phoenix Park via Clifton, Wilford and the centre of Nottingham. The stop comprises a pair of side platforms flanking the twin terminal tracks, with one of the platforms being long enough to accommodate, if necessary, two trams. Trams run at frequencies that vary between 4 and 8 trams per hour, depending on the day and time of day. A half-hourly express bus service, the Skylink Express, links the stop to East Midlands Airport.The Clifton South stop opened on 25 August 2015, along with the rest of NET's phase two.In 2023, extension of the NET to Clifton South was listed in the Department for Transport's list of projects to be funded by the cancellation of Phase 2 of High Speed 2, despite the tram stop already being operation for nearly a decade by that point.

Rushcliffe Halt is a railway station on the former Great Central Railway London Extension from London Marylebone serving the north of East Leake, Nottinghamshire, currently in use as part of the Nottingham Heritage Railway. The station was built as a later addition to the railway, opening in 1911 to serve the adjacent Rushcliffe Golf Club. Later, sidings were added to serve the nearby gypsum works. The station closed to passengers in 1963, although freight continued to serve British Gypsum until the early 1980s. The station is the only surviving example of a Great Central Railway twin platform configuration; 'island' platforms were the standard on the route. During the 1990s, the line and station entered preservation. In 2000 freight trains to the gypsum works resumed and in 2003 Great Central Railway (Nottingham) introduced a weekend passenger service between Loughborough junction and Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre Ruddington on a preserved section of the line. GCRN services terminate at a Stop Board close to the A60 road. Beyond that is the connection to Network Rail and the Midland Main Line (MML). There are plans for a high-level station to be built here. The loco shed of the Great Central Railway at Loughborough are just visible, across the MML at least just 1.1 mile across. There are also plans to reinstate a bridge across the MML and to join up with the GCR at Loughborough on the Leicester side. Once both preserved sections are re-connected (with the bridging of the Loughborough Gap within full completion) this would extend to a total of over 18 miles in length.

St Helena's Church, West Leake is a parish church in the Church of England in West Leake, Nottinghamshire. The church is Grade II* listed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as it is a particularly significant building of more than local interest. The grade II listed lychgate is possibly by the architect Temple Moore.

The Trent Valley Way is a waymarked long-distance footpath in England following the River Trent and its valley in the counties of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. Originally created in 1998, to mark the centenary of the Nottinghamshire County Council, it was waymarked between the two southern starting points at Thrumpton and Attenborough, through to West Stockwith near Gainsborough at the northern limit of the county, a distance of some 84 miles.This Nottinghamshire route used both riverside paths and footpaths in the wider valley to link Nottingham, with Newark-on-Trent, Gainsborough and various villages via points of interest. It appeared on Ordnance Survey maps, and a book showing the route was also produced.The waymark consisted of a white disc with a blue arrow containing three wavy white lines.

Thrumpton is a village and civil parish in Nottinghamshire, England. At the time of the 2001 census it had a population of 152, increasing to 165 at the 2011 census. It is located on the A453 road 6 miles (9.7 km) south-west of West Bridgford. The 13th century Church of All Saints is Grade II* listed and was restored in 1871. Many of the gabled brick houses in the village were built between 1700 and 1745 by John Emerton of Thrumpton Hall.
