St George's Church, Barton in Fabis

Barton in Fabis is a village and civil parish in the Rushcliffe district of Nottinghamshire. It has a population of about 250, being measured at 266 in the 2011 Census. The village is just south of Nottingham, being on the other side of the River Trent from Attenborough. A ferry, Barton Ferry, used to cross the River Trent to the Attenborough side near to the mouth of the River Erewash. A ferry crossed the River Trent at this point since before 1774. The name originates from an older name, "Barton in the Beans" (Fabis being Latin for 'bean', in the ablative plural), apparently referring to the beans grown in the village. This name was also used for a Leicestershire village, Barton in the Beans, which has retained its name.

Attenborough Nature Reserve is a nature reserve at Attenborough, Nottinghamshire, England, located 5 mi (8 km) south west of Nottingham city centre. It is owned and managed by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, supported by Broxtowe Borough Council, following the completion of purchase from Cemex UK in December 2020.At its centre is a building called Attenborough Nature Centre, comprising visitor services and educational facilities.

The Trent Valley Way is a waymarked long-distance footpath in England following the River Trent and its valley in the counties of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. Originally created in 1998, to mark the centenary of the Nottinghamshire County Council, it was waymarked between the two southern starting points at Thrumpton and Attenborough, through to West Stockwith near Gainsborough at the northern limit of the county, a distance of some 84 miles.This Nottinghamshire route used both riverside paths and footpaths in the wider valley to link Nottingham, with Newark-on-Trent, Gainsborough and various villages via points of interest. It appeared on Ordnance Survey maps, and a book showing the route was also produced.The waymark consisted of a white disc with a blue arrow containing three wavy white lines.

Chilwell School (formerly known as Chilwell Comprehensive School) is a secondary school located in Chilwell, near Nottingham, England. The school is located adjacent to the Chilwell Olympia sports complex and has an attached sixth-form college. In January 2005, the school was designated a specialist school in Arts and Maths and Computing.The school's typical enrolment is around 1,000 students aged 11 to 18, of which roughly 100 are enrolled at the sixth-form.The Chilwell Sixth-Form was formerly known as Lakeview College and was run in collaboration with nearby school Alderman White. In September 2006, Chilwell School governors made the decision that the college would be entirely managed and staffed by Chilwell School from September 2008.

Lakeview College was a sixth-form located in Beeston, Nottingham. It was located on the same campus as Chilwell School and Chilwell Olympia. It had approximately 250 students, mainly studying for AS and A2 level exams, though other courses were taken. Once used as part of Chilwell School, it was opened as a sixth-form college in 1984. It was initially fed by students from Chilwell School, Alderman White and George Spencer, although there were many students from the neighbouring areas of Bramcote and Stapleford. As part of Chilwell School's 2006 Ofsted inspection, the college was rated as "good".In September 2006, Chilwell School governors decided that Lakeview College would be entirely managed and taught by Chilwell School staff from September 2008. Alderman White was also due to pull out by this date due to the school entering The White Hills Park Federation Trust, which would have its own sixth-form centre. George Spencer had established its own sixth-form centre in 2004.

All Saints’ Church, Thrumpton is a Grade II* listed parish church in the Church of England in Thrumpton, Nottinghamshire. A stone font in the churchyard is Grade II listed.It is part of an informal grouping of five churches that are known collectively as "The 453 Churches" as they straddle the A453. Thrumpton is a village and civil parish in Nottinghamshire, England. At the time of the 2001 census it had a population of 152, increasing to 165 at the 2011 census. It is located on the A453 road 6 miles (9.7 km) south-west of West Bridgford. The 13th century Church of All Saints is Grade II* listed and was restored in 1871. Many of the gabled brick houses in the village were built between 1700 and 1745 by John Emerton of Thrumpton Hall.

Chilwell Olympia is a sports centre in Chilwell, near Nottingham. It is run by Broxtowe Borough Council with the aim of meeting the recreational and sporting needs of the locality as well as the physical education needs of the pupils at Chilwell School. The centre was opened in April 1974 and is the base for a large number of clubs and local sporting activities. Chilwell Olympia is also home to the Nottinghamshire Badminton Association.
