Pikisaari

Ruisrock is a rock festival held annually on the island of Ruissalo in Turku, Finland. Ruisrock, founded in 1970, is the second oldest rock festival in Europe (after Pinkpop) and the oldest in Finland. The festival has attracted international artists throughout its lifetime except around the start of the 2000s (decade), due to the organiser's economic issues.

Särkilahti is a district of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located in the central part of the island of Hirvensalo, off the city's coastline. The second of the two schools on Hirvensalo is located in Särkilahti. Illoinen is one of the smallest districts of Turku, with a population of only 85 (as of 2004). The population is decreasing at an annual rate of 1.18%. 21.18% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 15.29% are over 65. 100% of the district's inhabitants speak Finnish as their native language.

Toijainen (Finnish; Toijais in Swedish) is a district and a suburb of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located in the central part of the island of Hirvensalo, off the city's coastline. The current (as of 2004) population of Toijainen is 102, and it is increasing at an annual rate of 24.51%. 25.49% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 15.69% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 87.25% Finnish and 12.75% Swedish.

Jänessaari is a district of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located in the northwestern part of the island of Hirvensalo, off the city's coast. Jänessaari is one of the smallest districts in Turku, with a population of only 26 (as of 2004). 11.54% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 26.92% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 92.31% Finnish, 3.85% Swedish, and 3.85% other.

Lauttaranta (Finnish; Färjstranden in Swedish) is a district and a suburb of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located in the northern part of the island of Hirvensalo, off the city's coastline. The only bridge between Hirvensalo and the mainland is located in Lauttaranta, connecting it to the district of Pihlajaniemi. The current (as of 2004) population of Lauttaranta is 236, and it is increasing at an annual rate of 3.39%. 15.25% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 12.71% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 92.37% Finnish and 7.63% Swedish.

Turku Castle (Finnish: Turun linna, Swedish: Åbo slott) is a medieval building in the city of Turku in Finland. Together with Turku Cathedral, the castle is one of the oldest buildings still in use and the largest surviving medieval building in Finland. It was founded in the late 13th century and stands on the banks of the Aura River. The castle served as a bastion and administrative centre in Eastland, as Finland was known during its time as a province of Sweden. Only once did the castle figure in the defence of the realm, when Russian invaders from Novgorod destroyed Turku in 1318. It more frequently played a role in internal struggles for power within Sweden and the Kalmar Union. The castle's heyday was in the mid-16th century during the reign of Duke John of Finland and Catherine Jagellon. That was when the Renaissance Floor and King's and Queen's hall were built, along with other features. It lost its status as an administrative centre in the 17th century after Per Brahe's period as governor-general of Finland came to an end. Turku castle is today Finland's most visited museum, with attendance reaching 200,000 in some years. In addition, many of the larger rooms are used for municipal functions.

Pahaniemi is a district in the Naantalintie ward of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located to the west of the city, and is mainly a high-density residential suburb. The current (as of 2004) population of Pahaniemi is 4,397, and it is decreasing at an annual rate of 2.25%. 15.62% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 13.67% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 90.90% Finnish, 2.37% Swedish, and 6.73% other.

Hirvensalo is an island in the Archipelago Sea, belonging to the city of Turku, Finland. It is divided into 14 districts, the largest ones being Moikoinen, Kukola and Haarla. Most of the island's economic activity is concentrated on the suburb of Moikoinen, which has a school, shops, a Lutheran church, and a post office. The island's total population is approximately 9,000 (as of 2015).Hirvensalo was formerly part of the municipality of Maaria, until it was annexed to the city of Turku in 1944.

Iso-Heikkilä (Finnish; Storheikkilä in Swedish) is a district of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located to the west of the city centre, bordering on the city centre's VIII District (Port Arthur). The current (as of 2004) population of Iso-Heikkilä is 1,905, and it is decreasing at an annual rate of 0.79%. Only 4.57% of the district's population is under 15 years old, while 35.17% are over 65. Iso-Heikkilä thus has one of the oldest populations in Turku. The district's linguistic makeup is 94.86% Finnish, 3.94% Swedish, and 1.21% other languages. Most of Iso-Heikkilä is industrial area and offices, but there is also a residential area with a children's daycare centre and a home for the elderly. The Iso-Heikkilä Observatory is located in the Iso-Heikkilä district.

Gatorade Center (formerly HK Areena, Elysée Arena, Typhoon Arena, but commonly referred to as Turkuhalli in Finnish and Åbohallen in Swedish) is a multi-functional indoor arena in the district of Artukainen in Turku, Finland. Opened in November 1990, it can hold up to 11,820 spectators for ice hockey games. It is primarily used for ice hockey, and is the home arena of TPS, but it is also frequently used to host concerts and other events such as the Maata Näkyvissä Festival. A record attendance of 12,041 for a hockey match was registered in 1991. Gatorade Center is a member of the European Arenas Association (EAA).
