Vreeland (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvreːlɑnt]) is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It was a part of the former municipality of Loenen. Since 2011 it has been part of the new formed municipality of Stichtse Vecht. It is located on the river Vecht, about 2 km north of Loenen aan de Vecht. It received city rights in 1265. In 2015, the village celebrates the 650th year of its foundation. Vreeland is on the provincial road Vinkeveen-Hilversum (N201). Until 1964, Vreeland was a separate municipality.In 2001, the village of Vreeland had 1339 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.30 km², and contained 557 residences. The statistical area "Vreeland", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1600.

Loenen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈlunə(n)] ) is a former municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. It was in the Vechtstreek area. On January 1, 2011, Loenen merged with Breukelen and Maarssen to form Stichtse Vecht.

The Angstel is a small river between Abcoude and Loenersloot in the Netherlands, about halfway between Amsterdam and Utrecht. The Angstel is about 6 km (3.75 mi) long and connects the Gein and Holendrecht rivers with the Aa and Winkel rivers. East of the Angstel is the Amsterdam–Rhine Canal. Originally the Angstel was a tributary to the Utrechtse Vecht. The river marks the border of the municipality De Ronde Venen. Along the river are several Buitenplaats and the castle of Loenersloot. There are four bridges over the river: the Dorpsbrug Baambrugge in Baambrugge, and the Hulksbrug, the Heinkuitenbrug and the Derde in Abcoude.

Mijnden is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It was a part of the former municipality of Loenen. Since 2011 it has made part of the new formed municipality of Stichtse Vecht and lies about 12 km west of Hilversum. The hamlet was first mentioned in 1235 as Minden. The etymology is unclear. The postal authorities have placed it under Nieuwersluis. In 1840, it was home to 270 people.

Loosdrecht (Dutch pronunciation: [ɫoːsdrɛxt]) is a town in the municipality of Wijdemeren, North Holland, the Netherlands, with a population of about 8,600 inhabitants.Loosdrecht consists of two small villages: Nieuw-Loosdrecht and Oud-Loosdrecht. Nieuw Loosdrecht covers a small area densely populated; Oud-Loosdrecht consists mainly of lakeside villas. Until 2002 Loosdrecht was a separate municipality in the province of Utrecht, covering the villages of Oud-Loosdrecht and Nieuw-Loosdrecht, and the hamlets of Breukeleveen and Muyeveld. Nederhorst den Berg (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈneːdərɦɔrs dɛm ˈbɛr(ə)x]) is a village in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. It lies about 8 km northwest of Hilversum in the Vechtstreek area, near the Vecht river. Until 1 January 2002, it was a separate municipality; it is now part of the municipality of Wijdemeren.The village was first mentioned in 1326 as "opten berch", and means "lower height with growth". Neder (lower) could have been added to distinguish from the former castle Hoogerhorst aan de Eem. The height refers to a five metre high sandy ridge. Nederhorst den Berg is a peat excavation settlement from the Early Middle Ages. It used to be part of Utrecht, but was transferred to North Holland in 1819.In the 13th century, Nederhorst den Berg Castle was built with octagon corner towers and surrounded by a moat. In 1635, the castle was enlarged and the courtyard was built over. The castle was destroyed by the French in 1672. In 1695, it was rebuilt. The castle burnt down in 1971, and was rebuilt in 1973.The Dutch Reformed Willibrordus Church has a 12th century tower.

Nigtevecht (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈnɪxtəˌvɛxt]) is a village in the province of Utrecht, Netherlands with a population of 1,395. Formerly part of the municipality of Loenen; it has been part of the newly-formed municipality of Stichtse Vecht since 2011. It is situated about 9 km (5.6 mi) west of Bussum along the Vecht River in the Vechtstreek.
