Loosdrecht

The Vechtstreek (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvɛxtˌstreːk]) (Dutch for "Vecht area") is a region in the Dutch provinces of Utrecht and North Holland along the Vecht River between the towns of Utrecht and Amsterdam. Located in the economic heartland of the Netherlands, it is known for its natural environment and history. The Vechtstreek is known for its many vestiges of the Dutch Golden Age, including castles, homes, parks and tea houses. They bear witness to the greatness and wealth of that period, the important commercial role played by the Vecht River and the area's history as a residential area for the nobility and wealthy.

Muyeveld or Muijeveld is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wijdemeren, and lies about 8 km southwest of Hilversum. According to Van der Aa, the hamlet was formerly known as "Mijndenveld", referring to the nearby polder and hamlet of Mijnden.

Horstermeer is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wijdemeren, and lies about 8 km northwest of Hilversum. The statistical district "Horstermeer", which covers the village and the surrounding Horstermeerpolder, has a population of around 770.

De Nederlanden is a restaurant and hotel located in Vreeland in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the years 1958 and 1959 and one or two Michelin stars in the period 1999 to present. GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 17.0 out of 20 points.It was one of the founders of the Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise in 1967. In 2011 the restaurant was not a member. De Nederlanden is a member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.

Vreeland (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvreːlɑnt]) is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It was a part of the former municipality of Loenen. Since 2011 it has been part of the new formed municipality of Stichtse Vecht. It is located on the river Vecht, about 2 km north of Loenen aan de Vecht. It received city rights in 1265. In 2015, the village celebrates the 650th year of its foundation. Vreeland is on the provincial road Vinkeveen-Hilversum (N201). Until 1964, Vreeland was a separate municipality.In 2001, the village of Vreeland had 1339 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.30 km², and contained 557 residences. The statistical area "Vreeland", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1600.

Breukeleveen is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is in the municipality of Wijdemeren, and lies southwest of Loosdrecht. The hamlet consists of a single street between two lakes. At the north end, it borders the hamlet of Muyeveld, and on the south end it borders Tienhoven, Stichtse Vecht, in the province of Utrecht. The hamlet is named after the nearby town of Breukelen.

Overmeer is a neighbourhood of Nederhorst den Berg and former village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wijdemeren, and lies about 8 km northwest of Hilversum. Overmeer used to be a separate village, but has now grown together with the town of Nederhorst den Berg.

Loenen-Kronenburg was a Dutch municipality from 1817 to '19. Its former territory is now part of Loenen in the province of Utrecht. From 1814 to '17, the municipality of Loenen lay partly in the province of Holland and partly that of Utrecht. In 1817 the portion in Holland became the separate municipality of Loenen-Kronenburg. In 1819, the boundaries of the province of Utrecht were enlarged to encompass Loenen-Kronenburg, which was subsequently merged back into Loenen.

It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1998-2003 and 2006–2012.Gault Millau awarded the restaurant 14 out of 20 points.Head chef of Tante Koosje is Roland Veldhuijzen. In 2007, he managed to retain the star awarded to Sidney Heinze in 2006.The building is a Rijksmonument.

Loenen aan de Vecht (or just Loenen) is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It was the main village in the former municipality of Loenen. Since 2011 it has become part of the newly formed municipality of Stichtse Vecht. It lies about 10 km west of Hilversum.

Tienhoven is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Stichtse Vecht, and lies about 7 km north of Utrecht. Tienhoven was a separate municipality until 1957, when it was merged with Maarssen.The village was first mentioned in 1243 as "decem mansorum sitorum in Marsenvene", and means "ten parcels of land (in the moorland of Maarssen)" which were sold by Herman van Maarssen to the chapter of Saint Peter. Tienhoven started as a peat excavation village to the east of the Vecht River. In 1812, the church, the clergy house and nine other houses burnt down. In 1813, a new church was rebuilt. In 1840, it was home to 346 people. On 14 May 1940, after the German invasion, the land was inundated and the villagers were evacuated to Twisk. They returned after the capitulation on 20 May, and were able to pump the water away thereby limiting the damage caused.

Loenen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈlunə(n)] ) is a former municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. It was in the Vechtstreek area. On January 1, 2011, Loenen merged with Breukelen and Maarssen to form Stichtse Vecht.
