The Hogg's Hollow disaster was a construction accident that occurred on March 17, 1960 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The incident resulted in the deaths of five Italian immigrant workers who were constructing a water main tunnel beneath the Don River in the Hogg's Hollow neighbourhood. The workers, known as "sandhogs", were trapped underground when a fire broke out in the tunnel, leading to a series of catastrophic events including flooding and cave-ins. The disaster exposed the hazardous working conditions faced by many immigrant labourers in the construction industry and became a catalyst for significant reforms in Ontario's labour laws and safety regulations. Part of the area is also known as Hoggs Hollow, named for James Hogg, a Scottish settler who settled in the area in 1824 and operated the mill on Yonge Street at the Don River north of the Town of York (now Toronto), by his sons John and William in 1856. Another portion is named St. Andrew-Windfields. St. Andrew-Windfields most famous resident was the popular Canadian Philanthropist E. P. Taylor who left Canada towards the latter years of his life and donated Parkland (now Windfields Park) and his mansion (now the Canadian Film Centre).

The property is currently managed by Manulife Financial, which acquired it for C$161 million from Ivanhoé Cambridge in a deal that closed December 12, 2011.The campus is a 549,000-square-foot, four-building office complex that features raised floors throughout, two internal bus stations, and is directly above the York Mills Subway Station. Including parking and the purpose built bus terminals, the complex is approximately 1.5 million square feet.

Established by the Loretto Sisters in 1847, it is one of Toronto's oldest educational institutions and is part of the Toronto Catholic District School Board (then the Metropolitan Separate School Board) since 1987. Loretto Abbey operates on the non-semestered system offering Advanced Placement, academic and applied courses; approximately 85% of the school's courses are offered at the academic level, educating girls to university-entrance standards. The school offers co-operative education, extended French, Advanced Placement programmes and special education (resource and gifted).

Hoggs Hollow is a residential neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the Don River Valley and centred on the intersection of Yonge Street, York Mills Road, and Wilson Avenue. Hoggs Hollow is named after the Hogg family. James Hogg (1797–1839), a Scotsman settled in the area in 1824. Hogg operated a whisky distillery and a grist mill and was viewed as the most successful of all the millers in the valley. The name is usually written without the apostrophe as Hoggs Hollow but sometimes appears as Hogg's Hollow.
