It is bordered by Yonge Street to the west and Bayview Avenue to the east, and from Snowden Road in the south to north of Glen Echo Road and Rosedale Golf Club. Development occurred in and around the 1930s, and was farmland before that time. The neighbourhood is primarily residential (mostly home to the affluent) with only a small stretch of retail businesses along Yonge Street, in addition to the Rosedale Golf Club.

Bedford Park is a neighbourhood just outside the downtown core of Toronto. It borders Lawrence Park (to the southeast) which was ranked Canada's wealthiest neighbourhood in 2011. The City of Toronto's neighbourhood definitions places most of Bedford Park, including Bedford Park Avenue in the Lawrence Park North Planning Neighbourood and the remaining western and northern portions of Bedford Park within a larger neighbourhood, called Bedford Park-Nortown. The border of this larger area extend to Bathurst Street on the west, Highway 401 to the north, Hillhurst Boulevard (just north of Eglinton Avenue) to the south, and zigzags from northeast to southwest along Yonge Street and Avenue Road. There are three census tracts created by Statistics Canada in Bedford Park: 0141.01, 0141.02, 0142.00.

Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens is a municipal park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The park was created in 1933 by public subscription to honour Alexander Muir, who composed the song "The Maple Leaf Forever". The park was originally located opposite Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Yonge Street, but was moved to its present location in 1951 due to the construction of the Yonge subway. Today the park is in Toronto's Lawrence Park neighbourhood south of Lawrence Avenue with an entrance on the east side of Yonge Street.

Hoggs Hollow is a residential neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the Don River Valley and centred on the intersection of Yonge Street, York Mills Road, and Wilson Avenue. Hoggs Hollow is named after the Hogg family. James Hogg (1797–1839), a Scotsman settled in the area in 1824. Hogg operated a whisky distillery and a grist mill and was viewed as the most successful of all the millers in the valley. The name is usually written without the apostrophe as Hoggs Hollow but sometimes appears as Hogg's Hollow.

Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute (Lawrence Park CI, LPCI, "LP", or Lawrence Park) is a semestered, public high school institution with over 1,267 students enrolled. The school is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It teaches grades 9 through 12 and is operated and governed by the Toronto District School Board. Until 1998, the school was part of the former Toronto Board of Education. The school is located in the Lytton Park neighbourhood. The majority of students come from the surrounding Bedford Park, Lytton Park, North Toronto, and Lawrence Park areas. The closest TTC subway station is Lawrence station.

Wanless Park is a neighbourhood and park in North Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located just north of Lawrence Avenue, between Bayview Avenue and Ronan Avenue. Central to the Wanless Park neighbourhood is a public park called Wanless Park. The park is approximately 9.5 acres (38,000 m2), with tennis courts, a basketball court, playground, a wading pool with a lifeguard, baseball diamond and grass fields. During the summer, camps and Ultimate tournaments occupy much of the grassy field area.

The Hogg's Hollow disaster was a construction accident that occurred on March 17, 1960 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The incident resulted in the deaths of five Italian immigrant workers who were constructing a water main tunnel beneath the Don River in the Hogg's Hollow neighbourhood. The workers, known as "sandhogs", were trapped underground when a fire broke out in the tunnel, leading to a series of catastrophic events including flooding and cave-ins. The disaster exposed the hazardous working conditions faced by many immigrant labourers in the construction industry and became a catalyst for significant reforms in Ontario's labour laws and safety regulations. The victims were all recent immigrants from Italy, reflecting the wave of Italian immigration to Canada in the post-World War II era. Their deaths sparked public outrage and led to increased scrutiny of workplace safety practices, particularly in the construction sector. The tragedy prompted a coroner's inquest, a royal commission, and ultimately resulted in the most comprehensive overhaul of Ontario's labour laws in nearly four decades. The Hogg's Hollow disaster is remembered as a pivotal moment in Canadian labour history, marking a turning point in the treatment of immigrant workers and the enforcement of workplace safety standards. It led to the strengthening of unions, particularly among Italian-Canadian workers, and continues to be commemorated through memorials, including a plaque at the site and a commemorative quilt displayed at York Mills subway station.
