Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary

Beam Dormitory was the first permanent building at the American Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. It was built on the highest point in Columbia in 1911 based on a design by noted Virginia architect Charles M. Robinson. The structure was built by Wise Granite Co. It included a chapel, housing, refectory, classrooms, and faculty offices. Beam Hall is now used as a dormitory and also contains office suites, meeting rooms, and an exercise facility. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Eau Claire Town Hall and Survey Publishing Company Building is a building that was built for the Survey Publishing Company. Later it was the Eau Claire Town Hall. In 1979, it was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Columbia College is a private liberal arts college in Columbia, South Carolina. Founded in 1854 by the United Methodist Church as a women's liberal arts college, Columbia College became fully coeducational in 2020 welcoming its first coed residential class in Fall 2021. It also offers evening, graduate, and online programs for women and men.

Prisma Health Richland Hospital is a hospital in Columbia, South Carolina that is part of Prisma Health. Prisma Health Richland hospital was originally established in 1892 as Columbia Hospital and was one of the first hospitals in the city. Over the years, with the growth of Columbia and the arrival of Fort Jackson, the hospital expanded. It outgrew its original location on Harden St. by the 1960s. Later renamed Richland Memorial Hospital it is moved in 1972 to its present location near the intersection of Bull St. and Harden St. Extension. Today, Prisma Health Richland is one of the largest hospitals in the state with over 20 specialties. It is affiliated with the University of South Carolina, training future doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. It is the regional referral center for the Midlands of South Carolina and is the site of the Carolinas' first Gamma Knife Center. The hospital also has a Total Joint Center for hip and knee replacements and, since 2007, a Robotic Surgery Center specializing in minimally invasive surgery.

The Alta Vista–Camp Fornance–Newman Park Historic District, is a predominantly residential historic district in northwestern Columbia, South Carolina. It encompasses much of the neighborhood of Earlewood, and is formed out of three separate subdivisions that were developed as streetcar suburbs in the early 20th century. The district is about 225 acres (91 ha) in size, and has more than 550 residences, many in architectural styles popular in the first half of the 20th century. It is roughly bounded on the east and south by the tracks of the Seaboard Air Line, the north by Earlewood Park and Lakewood Avenue, and the northwest by Darlington Avenue.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

North Columbia Fire Station No. 7 is a historic fire station located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1948, and is a two-story, brick, transitional Art Moderne / International style building. It features metal window frames, flat roof, and corner ribbon windows.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Bellevue Historic District, also known as Cottontown, is a national historic district located at Columbia, South Carolina. The district encompasses 177 contributing buildings in a planned suburban residential development. They were built between the early 20th century and 1945, and the district includes examples of Tudor Revival, Colonial Revival, and Craftsman/Bungalow style architecture.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Segra Park, formerly known as Spirit Communications Park, is a baseball park in Columbia, South Carolina. It is the home of the Columbia Fireflies, a Minor League Baseball team playing in the Carolina League. It opened in 2016 and can seat up to 9,077 people.

The South Carolina State Hospital was a publicly funded state-run psychiatric hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Founded in 1821 as the South Carolina Lunatic Asylum, it was one of the first public mental hospitals established in the United States. The Mills Building, its first building, was designed by early American architect Robert Mills, and is a National Historic Landmark. The hospital had more than 1,000 patients in 1900, but with the transition of mental health facilities to community settings, it closed in the late 1990s. While buildings on the campus were temporarily used for inpatient services into the early 2000s, they were not part of the State Hospital, but other inpatient facilities of the agency (e.g., Morris Village Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center and G. Werber Bryan Psychiatric Hospital). Several buildings on its campus housed offices and storage facilities of the state's Department of Mental Health until approximately 2014. In October of 2014, the Department sold the first parcels of the property into private ownership and received the first sale proceeds ($1.5 Million). The William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute (an inpatient psychiatric facility for children and adolescents) remained on the campus until 2015, when it moved to a new facility on Department's Northeast Columbia Campus. As of January 2021, 100% of the South Carolina State Hospital (also known as "Bull Street") property had been transferred to private ownership. Proceeds from the sale of the Bull Street property must be used to benefit patients of the Agency. As of August 2020, the SC Mental Health Commission had authorized the expenditure of $10 million of the proceeds, $6.5 million, for the development of additional community housing for patients.

The Modjeska Monteith Simkins House is a historic place of the civil rights movement. The house, which was owned by Modjeska Monteith Simkins, is located at 2025 Marion Street in Columbia, South Carolina. On March 25, 1994, it was named to the National Register of Historic Places.

The South Carolina Science Academy (SCSA) was a tuition-free public charter school in Columbia, South Carolina, open to all students that reside in South Carolina. SCSA was a publicly funded school that focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The school currently had enrollment of 136 students in grades 6–12 at the time of closing. The target student population was 450 students. The inaugural year for the South Carolina Science Academy was originally set to be 2012, but the sudden death of the school's founder, Mr. Nathan Yon, pushed that date back to 2014.The SC Science Academy had received a ten-year charter, had been approved by the South Carolina Department of Education, and was authorized by the South Carolina Public Charter School District in 2011. In accordance with the charter school model, an annually elected board of directors composed of local business leaders, educators, and parents governed the school.Enrollment in the 2016 school year was 140 students.The school was AdvancED accredited, and it rated "Good" in opportunities in foreign language. In 2016, the school had 1.3 professional development days per teacher, and 37.5% of its teachers were on continuing contracts.On May 10, 2018, the South Carolina Public Charter School District voted to revoke SC Science Academy's charter, closing the school at the end of the year.

The Babcock Building is a historic structure located off Bull St. in Columbia, South Carolina. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 30, 1981. The building was the second to house patients on the campus of South Carolina State Hospital, after the Mills Building proved to be insufficient in space to house its patients. On September 12, 2020, the Babcock Building was the site of a three-alarm fire which collapsed the building's dome and gutted the interior. Reconstruction and renovation plans are undergoing and are expected to be completed in 2022. At completion, the Babcock Building will be divided into 208 apartments.
