Valley View Apartments (also known as Tornado Towers) was a block of buildings in Mankato, Minnesota, United States, constructed by placing mobile homes in a concrete frame, stacked four high.The building was erected in the 1970s, and demolished in 1995. The buildings were widely condemned as ugly, and were eventually bought by the city for $160,000 and demolished. They were replaced with more conventional apartments, of the same name.

Blakeslee Stadium is a stadium located on the southern edge of the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus in Mankato, Minnesota. Primarily used for American football, it is the home field of the Minnesota State Mavericks, an NCAA Division II football team, and also hosted the training camp for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) from 1966 to 2017. Built in 1962, the stadium holds 7,500 people has hosted a variety of events, including marching band performances and drum and bugle corps competitions. In 2022, the stadium hosted Hockey Day Minnesota, an annual series of outdoor hockey games sponsored by the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NFL) and Bally Sports North.The stadium is named after C. P. Blakeslee, who served as a coach, administrator, and professor in health and physical education at Minnesota State from 1921 until his retirement in 1961.

Minnesota State University, Mankato (MNSU, MSU, or Minnesota State) is a public university in Mankato, Minnesota, United States. It is Minnesota's second-largest university and has over 145,000 living alumni worldwide. Founded in 1868, it is the second-oldest member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and is commonly referred to as the flagship institution. It was established as the Second State Normal School in 1858 and officially opened as Mankato Normal School a decade later. Minnesota State University, Mankato is a significant contributor to the local and state economies, adding $827 million annually.Across seven colleges and schools, Minnesota State offers over 130 undergraduate programs of study, over 80 master's programs, and 4 doctoral programs. The campus includes on campus housing in the form of dorms for 2,700 residents, academic buildings, a main library, a music library, two astronomy observatories, experimental research stations for alternative and renewable energy, a recreation center, an athletics complex, a student center, an administration center and over 50 acres of athletics fields including the football team Blakeslee Stadium. The Minnesota State Mavericks men's and women's hockey teams also utilize and have administrative space at the Verizon Wireless Center and the All Seasons Arena located off campus.

Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato, formerly known as Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital, is a general medical and surgical hospital in Mankato, Minnesota. It has been a part of Mayo Clinic since 1996. Immanuel-St. Joseph's was formed in 1969 from a merger between two Mankato hospitals, Immanuel Hospital (established 1906) and St. Joseph's Hospital (established 1898). The 161-bed hospital currently employs 3,302 employees, and is one of the largest employers in Mankato. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2023 on a 121-bed expansion that will include a new and expanded Intensive Care Unit, as well as a Progressive Care Unit to care for the most critically ill patients

Bethany Lutheran College (BLC) is a private Christian liberal arts college in Mankato, Minnesota. Founded in 1927, BLC is operated by the Evangelical Lutheran Synod. The campus overlooks the Minnesota River valley in a community of 53,000.

Kato Public Charter School is a charter school in Mankato, Minnesota, United States. The school opened as RiverBend Academy in September 2000 and rebranded as Kato Public Charter School in 2014. Kato Public is part of the EdVisions Schools co-op and is in its own independent school district, ISD #4066.

Old Main is a historic academic building on the lower historic campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato in Mankato, Minnesota. Its main section, built in 1924, is dominated by a prominent Jacobethan tower, and is connected to an older 1908 building, now known as the Annex. It was built to replace the original old main (built 1870) also located in lower Mankato that was burned to the ground by a fire in 1922. These structures are the oldest surviving buildings on the original valley campus, which was the first site of the state's second normal school. The state legislature provided funding in 1923 for the development of the site. The 1924 building was designed by Clarence H. Johnston, then the state architect. It currently serves as a nursing home and clinical rotation site for nursing assistant programs in the area. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

KMSU (89.7 FM, "The Maverick") is a radio station operated by Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota, United States, that carries a mixed news, talk, and music format. A repeater station, KMSK (91.3 FM), serves the city of Austin; a translator station, K220AR (91.9 FM), serves the city of Albert Lea. It is part of Minnesota's AMPERS network.

KXLP (94.1 FM) is a radio station in Mankato, Minnesota (licensed to Eagle Lake) and serving the Minnesota River Valley. The 94.1 FM frequency went on the air September 21, 2007, airing a classic rock format that migrated from a sister station at 93.1 FM. KXLP's license is owned by Radioactive, LLC (a holding company owned by Randy Michaels) and the station is operated by Linder Radio Group.

The Blue Earth County History Center is a museum library and archives owned and operated by the Blue Earth County Historical Society. It is a repository of photographs, printed materials and artifacts related to the history of the south central Minnesota county of Blue Earth. The History Center offers interactive exhibits for children, traditional exhibits, and the Marian Anderson Art Gallery. A research center is accessible for researchers and genealogists, providing resources such as a comprehensive obituary index, cemetery transcriptions, subject and surname files, and microfilmed newspapers.
