KXLP (94.1 FM) is a radio station in Mankato, Minnesota (licensed to Eagle Lake) and serving the Minnesota River Valley. The 94.1 FM frequency went on the air September 21, 2007, airing a classic rock format that migrated from a sister station at 93.1 FM. KXLP's license is owned by Radioactive, LLC (a holding company owned by Randy Michaels) and the station is operated by Linder Radio Group.

Minnesota State University, Mankato (MNSU, MSU, or Minnesota State) is a public university in Mankato, Minnesota, United States. It is Minnesota's second-largest university and has over 145,000 living alumni worldwide. Founded in 1868, it is the second-oldest member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and is commonly referred to as the flagship institution. It was established as the Second State Normal School in 1858 and officially opened as Mankato Normal School a decade later. Blakeslee Stadium is a stadium located on the southern edge of the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus in Mankato, Minnesota. Primarily used for American football, it is the home field of the Minnesota State Mavericks, an NCAA Division II football team, and also hosted the training camp for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) from 1966 to 2017. Built in 1962, the stadium holds 7,500 people has hosted a variety of events, including marching band performances and drum and bugle corps competitions. In 2022, the stadium hosted Hockey Day Minnesota, an annual series of outdoor hockey games sponsored by the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NFL) and Bally Sports North.The stadium is named after C. P. Blakeslee, who served as a coach, administrator, and professor in health and physical education at Minnesota State from 1921 until his retirement in 1961.

The Minnesota State University (Minnesota State) campus currently contains 30 buildings spread over 303 acres (123 ha) in Mankato, Minnesota, United States. The campus includes on campus housing in the form of dorms for 2,700 residents, academic buildings, a main library, a music library, two astronomy observatories, experimental research stations for alternative and renewable energy, a recreation center, an athletics complex, a student center, an administration center and over 50 acres of athletics fields including the football team Blakeslee Stadium. The Minnesota State Mavericks men's and women's hockey teams also utilize and have administrative space at the Verizon Wireless Center and the All Seasons Arena located off campus.

The J.R. Brandrup House is a historic house in Mankato, Minnesota, United States. It was built in 1904 in Neoclassical style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 for its local significance in the themes of architecture and education. It was nominated for its association with J.R. Brandrup (1864–1944), a founder of a private vocational school that became one of Mankato's most important educational institutions. The house was also nominated for its prominence and elaborate ornamentation within Mankato's Lincoln Park neighborhood. In 1995 it was listed as a contributing property to the Lincoln Park Residential Historic District.

Valley View Apartments (also known as Tornado Towers) was a block of buildings in Mankato, Minnesota, United States, constructed by placing mobile homes in a concrete frame, stacked four high.The building was erected in the 1970s, and demolished in 1995. The buildings were widely condemned as ugly, and were eventually bought by the city for $160,000 and demolished. They were replaced with more conventional apartments, of the same name.

All Seasons Arena is a two-rink facility built in 1973 and located in Mankato, Minnesota, United States. It is the former home of the Minnesota State Mavericks women's ice hockey. The arena is also used for practices by the Minnesota State Mavericks men's ice hockey team. It was used for men's intercollegiate games until 1995, when they moved to the newly opened Mankato Civic Center.

The Adolph O. Eberhart House is a historic house in Mankato, Minnesota, United States. It was built around 1903 for politician Adolph Olson Eberhart (1870–1944), who served as a state senator, lieutenant governor, and governor of Minnesota. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 for its local significance in the theme of politics/government. It was nominated for its association with Eberhart. In 1995 it was listed as a contributing property to the Lincoln Park Residential Historic District.

The Rensselaer D. Hubbard House, (also known as the Hubbard House) is a historic house in Mankato, Minnesota, United States. Originally a private home, it is currently a museum. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 7, 1976.The house was built in 1871 for Rensselaer D. Hubbard, a successful businessman. It was designed by Silas Barnard in the French Second Empire style.

Old Main is a historic academic building on the lower historic campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato in Mankato, Minnesota. Its main section, built in 1924, is dominated by a prominent Jacobethan tower, and is connected to an older 1908 building, now known as the Annex. It was built to replace the original old main (built 1870) also located in lower Mankato that was burned to the ground by a fire in 1922. These structures are the oldest surviving buildings on the original valley campus, which was the first site of the state's second normal school. The state legislature provided funding in 1923 for the development of the site. The 1924 building was designed by Clarence H. Johnston, then the state architect. It currently serves as a nursing home and clinical rotation site for nursing assistant programs in the area. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Lorin Cray House (also known as the Cray Mansion) is a historic structure in Mankato, Minnesota. Originally a private home, it was owned by the local YWCA for just over 80 years, from late 1927 until they changed locations in early 2008. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 28, 1980.

The Federal Courthouse and Post Office in Mankato, Minnesota, United States, was built in 1896 and expanded in 1932 and 1965. It is designed in Romanesque or Richardsonian Romanesque style, originally with a tower, by Supervising Architect William Martin Aiken. Also known as Federal Post Office and Courthouse, it served historically as a courthouse and as a post office. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.The 1932 expansion, designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under James A. Wetmore, more than doubled the size of the building; the 1965 expansion to the rear, credited to Edward W. Novak, was less dramatic. Both expansions were compatible in style and materials.
