Warren Transmission was a General Motors automotive factory in Warren, Michigan, that manufactured propulsion transmissions. It was located at 23500 Mound Road and opened in 1941 as a Navy ordnance plant, built and operated by the Hudson Motor Car Company, predecessor of American Motors Corporation.As of 2006, the factory employed 1,200 people. The company announced on June 1, 2006, that it would spend $332 million to expand production at Warren. On April 5, 2010, GM announced it was adding 100 jobs to the Warren Transmission plant.On May 31, 2017, Warren Transmission announced that the second shift would be eliminated starting June 26, 2017. On November 26, 2018, GM announced that the plant would be closed in 2019.On March 20, 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 outbreak, GM announced that it would repurpose the former Warren Transmission factory for the production of face masks in order to help protect workers in essential services across the United States. On March 27, 2020, GM began production with first deliveries on April 8, 2020.In December 2021, GM would sell the 117-acre (470,000 m2) property to Northpoint Development for an undisclosed price. In January 2022, it was announced that the plant would be demolished and redeveloped.

Warren Truck Assembly is a Stellantis automobile factory in Warren, Michigan.

The Warren Stamping Plant is a Stellantis North America automotive factory in Warren, Michigan that produces auto parts for Chrysler vehicles. The factory was completed in 1948 and began production in 1949. The nearby Chrysler facilities are the Warren Truck Assembly and the Mack Engine Complex. The Mound Road Engine plant closed in the early 2000s; the site is now a vehicle storage lot. There also was once the nearby "Sherwood Assembly" that closed in the late 1970s when Chrysler halted production of the Dodge Medium and Heavy Duty trucks and exited the market. Sherwood Assembly has since been torn down. The facility was built in 1948 and started production in 1949. Further expansions of the plant came in 1952, 1964, 1965 and 1986.

Hazel Park Raceway, located in Hazel Park, Michigan, in the metropolitan Detroit area, was a horse race track. From 1949 it offered live thoroughbred racing every Friday and Saturday night May through mid-September, and also offered harness racing. Beginning in 1996, it offered simulcast wagering seven days a week all year long on thoroughbred and harness races from across the US and Canada. Admission and parking were free. For a period, this was the only track in Michigan to offer live thoroughbred racing. The track opened in 1949 for Thoroughbred flat racing. In 1953 a harness racing season was added. After 1985, only Standardbred harness racing events were run here until 2014, when Thoroughbred racing was revived. The track was sold and closed in April 2018, leaving Northville Downs as the only horse racing track in Michigan. It closed in 2019. In 2021 an Amazon distribution center opened on the site. Under the ownership of Bernard Hartman and Herbert Tyner, owners of Hartman and Tyner Inc., in 2009 Hazel Park generated roughly $550,000 in revenue for the City of Hazel Park.

Hazel Park High School is a public high school in Hazel Park, Michigan. The school serves grades 9-12 and is a part of the Hazel Park Schools District. It opened in 1929 at the current site of the Junior High School and moved to its current location in 1961. The school has been named a Reward School by the Michigan Department of Education.

The Dorais Velodrome is an abandoned outdoor velodrome in Dorais Park in Detroit, Michigan, USA. It was built in 1969 for $50,000 with mostly volunteer labor by the Michigan Bicycling Federation. The site was donated by the City of Detroit. The track is a one-fifth-mile banked concrete track. It officially opened in late July 1969 prior to the National Bicycle Racing Championships.Numerous races and bicycle training classes were held on the track between 1969 and 1989. These were typically organized by the Wolverine Sports Club and the Detroit Recreation Department. The track deteriorated over time making it no longer suitable for track racing. In 1993, the City of Detroit held a public hearing for a replacement track. In 1997, the cost to rebuild the track was estimated at $700,000 according to John Jones of the Detroit Recreation Department. By then, plans were underway to build an outdoor velodrome at Bloomer Park in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Mound Road Engine was a Chrysler automobile engine factory in Detroit. Chrysler acquired the plant as part of its purchase of the Briggs Manufacturing Company in 1953. The plant was closed by DaimlerChrysler in 2002, with production shifting to the Mack Avenue Engine Complex. Chrysler briefly used the facility for making aircraft components, and transferred it to the Plymouth division in 1954. Plymouth added 71,000 square feet (6,600 m2) to the existing plant, bringing its size to just over 539,000 sq ft (50,100 m2). By the time engine production began in 1955, it housed what was at the time the world's longest assembly line.The factory was home to Chrysler's production of the small-block Chrysler A engine, a V8 used in Plymouth vehicles, then later the LA V8, or "Light A", as it weighed nearly 50 pounds less than the "A" engine it was closely based on. Later, the plant built the LA-based Magnum V10 engine. The factory was in operation for 47 years. The facility was torn down in late 2003 and the land paved over because it was cheaper to pay taxes on a parking lot than an empty building. The newly paved area, as well as the old employee parking lots, are now used to store vehicles that were manufactured at Warren Truck Assembly before shipping them to dealerships. Mount Elliott Tool and Die, another Chrysler facility, is located directly behind what used to be the Mound Road Engine plant. The facility was located at 20300 Mound Road, Detroit, Michigan.

John J. Pershing High School is a four-year public high school in Detroit, Michigan. It is in Conant Gardens in proximity to the residential areas and also serves Krainz Woods. Pershing was governed by the Education Achievement Authority (EAA), which oversees failing schools, from 2011 until 2017, when all schools were transferred back to Detroit Public Schools Community District.

Mount Elliott Tool and Die is a Stellantis North America automotive stamping plant in Detroit, Michigan that produces Stamping Dies, Checking Fixtures, Stamping Fixtures. It was built in 1938 by the Briggs Manufacturing Company. Chrysler purchased the plant in 1956 and it became Outer Drive Stamping plant. The facility became a tool and die plant after Vernor Tool & Die closed in 1983 and moved their operations there. The facility was then renamed Outer Drive Manufacturing Technology Center. After the "Pilot Operations" and "Advanced Stamping Manufacturing Engineering" were moved to Chrysler Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan in the 1980s, the facility was renamed "Mt. Elliott Tool and Die". Mount Elliott currently employs around 300 people and is home to UAW Local 212. As of late 2018 Mount Elliot is currently idled.

Conant Gardens is a historically Black neighborhood in northeast Detroit, Michigan. The neighborhood was once the most exclusive Black neighborhood in that city, and residents of Conant Gardens comprised the most highly educated Black enclave in Detroit.

The United States Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) (formerly United States Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC)), located in Warren, Michigan, is the United States Armed Forces' research and development facility for advanced technology in ground systems. It is part of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Futures Command. GVSC shares its facilities with the United States Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM). Current technology focus areas include Ground Vehicle Power and Mobility (GVPM), Ground System Survivability and Force Protection, among others.

Krainz Woods (colloquially known as Krainz and Krainz Park) is a neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. The neighborhood was named after Captain John Krainz Jr., a World War II hero from Detroit. The neighborhood was once home to Malcolm X, who lived on Keystone Street in the 1950s, and Spencer Haywood in the 1960s. The Sojourner Truth housing project is located there. Many Motown singing groups, such as The Dramatics and The Floaters, were from the Sojourner Truth housing projects. In 2009, Mayor of Detroit Dave Bing led a ribbon-cutting dedication of Krainz Park.
