Hazel Park Raceway

Hazel Park High School is a public high school in Hazel Park, Michigan. The school serves grades 9-12 and is a part of the Hazel Park Schools District. It opened in 1929 at the current site of the Junior High School and moved to its current location in 1961. The school has been named a Reward School by the Michigan Department of Education.

Madison High School is a public high school located in Madison Heights, Michigan, United States, in Oakland County. Its mascot is the Eagle. It is a part of Madison District Public Schools. The original high school was built in 1924 to serve students who had attended the one-room school houses in the southern half of what is now Madison Heights. Its first graduating class, in 1929, consisted of two students. The Madison School District became a graded district in 1925. The original high school's gymnasium had its first electric scoreboard in 1941, the result of a magazine sale conducted by the Eagles basketball team. In 1958 the current Madison High School was built; the former high school is now Wilkinson Middle School.

Hazel Park is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. An inner-ring suburb of Detroit, Hazel Park borders Detroit to the north, roughly 10 miles (16.1 km) north of downtown Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 14,983.Hazel Park was incorporated as a city in 1941 and bills itself as The Friendly City. From 1949 to 2018, it was the site of the Hazel Park Raceway, considered a high-quality facility originally used for both Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing. From 1985 on, the track ran only harness races. After 1996, it also provided simulcasts of races year round from across North America, with betting allowed on these races at the track facilities.

The school colors are blue and gold, and the school mascot is the Spartans. Fitzgerald is ranked the third most diverse school in Michigan, with over 40 different cultures and ethnicities. Fitzgerald High School had 910 students enrolled for the 2012-13 school year.

Its headquarters were in the St. John Providence Corporate Services Building in Warren in Metro Detroit. The parent company of St. John Providence is Ascension in St. Louis.The organization had more than 18,000 employees and operates 2,033 licensed beds.

It broadcasts an urban gospel radio format and is owned by Crawford Broadcasting. The station is a reporter to Billboard's Nielsen/BDS Gospel airplay panel. The radio studios and offices are shared with co-owned WMUZ, WMUZ-FM and WRDT, on Radio Plaza in Ferndale, Michigan. WCHB broadcasts in the HD format and. It is powered at 1,000 watts, using a directional antenna in the daytime. The transmitter is on West Woodland Heights Boulevard in Ferndale, near Interstate 75. Programming is also heard on 99-watt FM translator W244DL at 96.7 MHz in Detroit.

Mary Help of Christians Academy was a small, Traditionalist Catholic K-12 school located in Warren, Michigan. It was founded by Donald Sanborn in 1986 with the purchase of a former Montessori school campus. From a few families it expanded to around 200 students at its peak of enrollment. Internal disagreement between parents and school management (then including Robert Neville) in 1999 caused a number of families to leave. The school's teachers were dismissed from their positions and replaced with nuns from Robert McKenna's Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Enrollment continued to decline and the school was closed in 2004. The campus was sold to a local Eastern Orthodox church.

Warren Mott High School (WMHS, commonly referred to as Mott) is a public high school in Warren, Michigan, United States. It is part of the Warren Consolidated Schools district. It was founded in 1992 by the merger of the previous Warren High School and Charles Stewart Mott High School.

The Michigan State Fairgrounds Speedway was a dirt oval racing track located in Detroit, Michigan. The track was built in 1899 for horse racing, and it was part of the ground purchased to provide a permanent venue for the Michigan State Fair. Joseph Lowthian Hudson donated the land, at Woodward Avenue and what is now 8 Mile Road, to the Michigan State Agricultural Society.By 1908, the racetrack, at the east end of the fairground, had a 5,000-seat capacity grandstand. The track originally hosted Thoroughbred flat racing as well as Standardbred harness racing. Later, it was used for auto racing, after the growth of that industry. In 1971 the grandstand was declared unsafe; it was demolished in 2001.
