Lužice (Hodonín District)

Mikulčice (Czech pronunciation: [ˈmi.kul.tʃi.tsɛ]) is a municipality and village in Hodonín District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,000 inhabitants.

Mikulčice-Valy is an archaeological site and a museum with remains of a significant Slavic gord from the times of the Great Moravian Empire. The site is located in Mikulčice in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic, near the river Morava, which forms the Czech-Slovak boundary. The Archaeopark is a branch of the Masaryk Museum in Hodonín and an archaeological research institute of Czech Academy of Science in Brno is also on the site. The Mikulčice-Valy site is being considered by UNESCO for designation as a World Heritage Site.

Hodonín Zoo is a zoo, located on the northwestern outskirts of Hodonín in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.

The Lower Morava Valley (Czech: Dolnomoravský úval; Slovak: Dolnomoravský úval; German: Nieder March Talsenke) is a geomorphological formation (special type of valley) in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It is formed by the depression in the Western Carpathians (Ždánice Forest, Kyjov Hills and Mikulov Hills) in the west and Bílé Karpaty and Chvojnice Hills in the east. The drainage to the Morava River of the Danube basin runs finally to the Black Sea. It includes low watershed Dyje-Morava in Lanžhot.

Church of Saint Margaret of Antioch, near Kopčany, Slovakia, is one of still standing churches for which the Greater Moravian origin is considered. It belongs to the oldest churches in Slovakia. The church was built probably in the 9th or 10th century and was first mentioned in 1329. It was used until the 18th century when a new church was built in the village of Kopčany.
