Mire de Tibães

The Monastery of St Martin of Tibães (Portuguese: Mosteiro de São Martinho de Tibães) is a monastery in the parish of Mire de Tibães near Braga in northern Portugal. It was the mother house of the Benedictine order in Portugal and Brazil, and it is known for its church's exuberant Rococo interior.

Merelim (São Paio), Panoias e Parada de Tibães is a civil parish in the municipality of Braga, Portugal. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former parishes Merelim (São Paio), Panoias and Parada de Tibães. The population in 2011 was 5,363, in an area of 5.36 km².The parish is situated on the south bank of the river Cávado, northwest of Braga city centre. Agriculture is very important in Merelim São Paio, a village full of fields of maize and little plantations. However, the agriculturists in Merelim São Paio are getting older and there are few young people following the same way.

The Comunidade Intermunicipal do Cávado (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈkavɐðu]) is an administrative division in northern Portugal. It was created in 2008. It is also a NUTS3 subregion of the Norte Region. The seat of the intermunicipal community is Braga, Norte. Cávado comprises part of the former Braga District. The population in 2011 was 410,169, in an area of 1,245.79 square kilometres (481.00 sq mi), which makes it one of the most densely populated subregions of Portugal. Currently, as of 2021, it has 416.679 inhabitants and a population density of 351 per square kilometres. Its name is derived from the Cávado River that drains a large part of its territory. It borders the intermunicipal community of Ave and the Metropolitan Area of Porto to the south, Alto Tâmega to the east, Alto Minho to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.

The Bridge of Prado (Portuguese: Ponte do Prado) is a bridge constructed over the Cávado River, in the civil parish of Vila de Prado, municipality of Vila Verde, in Norte Region, Portugal northern Portugal. Although originally a Roman bridge, it was re-constructed during the 16th century when the original had been destroyed following flooding and consistent use. There are few vestiges of the Roman bridge.

The Circuito de Velocidade Vasco Sameiro (also known as Circuit of Braga) is a racing circuit located 6 km (3.7 mi) north of Braga, Portugal at Palmeira. It was constructed in 1990 around the local aerodrome and is 3.021 km (1.877 mi) long. The track runs in an anticlockwise direction. The circuit is owned by the Clube Automóvel do Minho. There is a karting track adjacent to the main track. The karting circuit was used for the Karting World Championship in 2000 and 2005, while the auto racing circuit is used mostly for Portuguese national motorsports. In October 2009 it hosted its first international motorsports event, the fifth running of the annual European Touring Car Cup.
