The Monastery of St Martin of Tibães (Portuguese: Mosteiro de São Martinho de Tibães) is a monastery in the parish of Mire de Tibães near Braga in northern Portugal. It was the mother house of the Benedictine order in Portugal and Brazil, and it is known for its church's exuberant Rococo interior.

The population in 2011 was 410,169, in an area of 1,245.79 square kilometres (481.00 sq mi), which makes it one of the most densely populated subregions of Portugal. Currently, as of 2021, it has 416.679 inhabitants and a population density of 351 per square kilometres. Its name is derived from the Cávado River that drains a large part of its territory. It borders the intermunicipal community of Ave and the Metropolitan Area of Porto to the south, Alto Tâmega to the east, Alto Minho to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.

Pousa is located in between the two sub-cities (Barcelos and Braga) in the northern region of Portugal. Many of its residents work in the sub-cities as they are within 30 minutes reach using motorised transport. It is surrounded by a beautiful mainstream river along with mountains filled with pine/oak trees. Forest fires are rare but not overlooked by authorities as there is at least one every year. Pousa has the Auto Estrada Porto-Valença running across through its border of its neighbour (Graca).
