TACA Flight 110

The New Orleans Power Station is a natural gas–fired electrical power plant in New Orleans. It is operated by Entergy New Orleans and regulated by the New Orleans City Council. It is located at the foot of the Paris Road Bridge in the New Orleans East neighborhood. The plant's reciprocating engine units have a total capacity of 128 megawatts (172,000 hp).

The Paris Road Bridge is the name of the bridge carrying Louisiana Highway 47 across the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet between St. Bernard Parish and New Orleans East in Louisiana, United States. It is also known as the Green Bridge. The name "Green Bridge" came from it originally being painted green. It was repainted brown in 1980, and recently repainted grey, but locals continue to call it "the Green Bridge". The bridge was built by the Army Corps of Engineers and opened to traffic on July 21, 1967 with the bridge being completed on November 14 of that year.Interstate 510 ends just north of the bridge. Both ends of the bridge are in Orleans Parish, but Chalmette is a short distance south of the bridge, which provides the most important road link for St. Bernard Parish, and is one of only four routes into the parish, the others being Judge Perez Drive, the Chalmette Ferry, and the St. Bernard Highway.

The Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) is an 832-acre (1.3 sq mi; 3.4 km2) manufacturing complex owned by NASA in New Orleans East, a section of New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States. Organizationally it is part of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, and is currently a multi-tenant complex to allow commercial and government contractors, as well as government agencies, to use the site. MAF is one of the largest manufacturing plants in the world with 43 environmentally controlled acres—174,000 m2 (1,870,000 sq ft)—under one roof, and it employs more than 4,200 people. From September 1961 to the end of the Apollo program in December 1972 the site was utilized by Chrysler Corporation to build the first stages of the Saturn I and Saturn IB, later joined by Boeing Corporation to build the first stage of the Saturn V rockets. From September 5, 1973, to September 20, 2010, the factory was used for the construction of the Space Shuttle's external fuel tanks by Martin Marietta Corporation.

Michoud (pronounced MEE-shoo or sometimes MEE-shood) is an area in Eastern New Orleans, part of the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana, located at latitude 30.03°N, longitude −89.925°W.

The Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Lake Borgne Surge Barrier is a storm surge barrier constructed near the confluence of and across the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) and the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO) near New Orleans. The barrier runs generally north-south from a point just east of Michoud Canal on the north bank of the GIWW and just south of the existing Bayou Bienvenue flood control structure. Navigation gates where the barrier crosses the GIWW and Bayou Bienvenue can be worked to reduce the risk of storm surge coming from Lake Borgne and/or the Gulf of Mexico. Another navigation gate (Seabrook Floodgate) has been constructed in the Seabrook vicinity, where the IHNC meets Lake Pontchartrain, to block a storm surge from entering the IHNC from the Lake.

Dong Phuong Oriental Bakery (Vietnamese: Đông Phương, literally "The Orient") is a Vietnamese retail and wholesale bakery, restaurant, and catering business in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is known for supplying the baguette style bread for many of the city's restaurants that offer banh mi or other sandwiches, and has its own popular banh mi counter. The bakery, along with the nearby Mary Queen of Vietnam Catholic Church, were fixtures of the Vietnamese community in New Orleans even before surviving the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. It is located at 14207 Chef Menteur Highway in the "Little Vietnam" section of Eastern New Orleans. It is attached to a sit-down restaurant of the same name that serves a variety of Vietnamese and Chinese dishes, including phở, bún thịt nướng, bún riêu, and bánh hỏi.

WWL-FM and sister station WWL 870 AM simulcast a News - Talk - Sports radio format. The studios and offices are in the 400 Poydras Tower in the New Orleans Central Business District. WWL-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 96,000 watts. Its transmitter site is off Paris Road in Chalmette, Louisiana. WWL-FM broadcasts in the HD Radio hybrid format, with its HD2 digital subchannel carrying both Infinity Sports Network and shows on food and lifestyles.

WNOE-FM (101.1 MHz) is a country music station based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The iHeartMedia outlet broadcasts with an ERP of 100 kW. Its transmitter is located in New Orleans' East Area, and its studios are located downtown.
