John D. Dingell Park

Mud Island is an island in the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, in southeast Michigan. It is in Wayne County. Its coordinates are 42°14′20″N 83°08′27″W; the United States Geological Survey gave its elevation as 584 ft (178 m) in 1980. Once owned by National Steel, white bass and perch are now caught there.

The Ecorse River is an 18.8-mile-long (30.3 km) river in southern Michigan. Because of its small size, it is often identified as Ecorse Creek. It flows through the Downriver section of Metro Detroit, and is a tributary of the Detroit River. The early French settlers named it the Rivière aux Écorces ("bark river"). They named the river after the custom they observed of the local Native American tribe, who wrapped their dead in birch or elm bark, and buried them at the mouth of the river. The river has two branches, which meet at Council Point Park in the city of Lincoln Park, where chief Pontiac held a council in 1763 before attacking Fort Detroit.

Ecorse ( EE-korrss) is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 9,512 at the 2010 census.Ecorse is part of the Downriver community within Metro Detroit. The city shares a northwestern border with the city of Detroit and also borders the cities of Lincoln Park to the west, River Rouge to the north, and Wyandotte to the south. The city shares its name with the Ecorse River, which forms its southern border with Wyandotte. The Detroit River forms the city's eastern border as part of the Canada–United States border with LaSalle, Ontario.

Council Point Park is a city-owned park in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located along the Ecorse River within the city of Lincoln Park. The park is 27 acres, and borders the cities of Wyandotte and Ecorse. The point itself is formed by the northern and southern branches of the Ecorse River, just before it reaches the Detroit River. The land for the park was purchased in the late 1980s. The park's dimensions were courtesy of Wade Trim and Associates. The park includes a 1.9 mile jogging track along the Ecorse River, two baseball/softball diamonds, two soccer fields, a picnic pavilion, a children's park with a playscape, an inline hockey arena, and a permanent restroom/storage building.

Grassy Island Light is a lighthouse located on Grassy Island, Michigan.

Grassy Island is a small, uninhabited 72-acre (29 ha) American island in the Detroit River. It is located just north of Grosse Ile and west of Fighting Island, about 600 feet (180 m) west of the Canada–United States border. The island is part of the city of Wyandotte, in Wayne County. The island is part of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. Grassy Island should not be confused with Grass Island, which is an island of Ontario on the exact opposite side of the Detroit River.Grassy Island was first charted by French explorers in 1796 as Ile Marecageuse (Marshy Island). At the time, the island's size was only six acres (2.4 ha), and the whole length of the Detroit River was a prominent coastal marshland. During the nineteenth century, the island was primarily used as a fishery and later was home to the Grassy Island Light. From around 1960–1982, the island served as a disposal facility for millions of cubic meters of toxic soil dredged from the nearby River Rouge, and the island's size was increased dramatically. Because of that, the island remains heavily contaminated today.

Ecorse Township is a defunct civil township in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan.

The Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge is the only international wildlife refuge in North America. Established in 2001 and managed jointly by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the Canadian Wildlife Service, it is located in a major metropolitan area. The Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge is one of over 540 National Wildlife Refuges managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service within the Department of the Interior. It occupies 7.88 square miles (20.41 km2) of scattered property but has drawn boundaries for further expansion.The Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge consists primarily of coastal wetlands, several islands in the Detroit River, and waterfront parks. The refuge includes islands, marshes, shoals, and waterfront lands along 48 miles (77 km) of the Detroit River and Western Lake Erie shoreline. It also includes Humbug Marsh, a wetland in southeastern Wayne County, which is classified as a wetland of international importance.

Fighting Island is a 610-hectare (1,500-acre) island in the Detroit River, and is the largest Canadian island in the river. It is part of the town of LaSalle, Ontario, Canada, opposite Wyandotte, Michigan, and downriver from Detroit and Windsor.

Mount Carmel Cemetery is located in Wyandotte, Michigan, in the United States. Established in 1864, Mount Carmel Cemetery is an active cemetery. The original cemetery was 10 acres (40,000 m2) holding over 8,000 interments. An additional section of one acre was added in November 2004. The grounds offer a columbarium, traditional, and green burials. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit oversees the cemetery grounds.

The George P. MacNichol House, also known as the Ford-MacNichol House, is a house located at 2610 Biddle Avenue in Wyandotte, Michigan. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1973 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.The house is currently used as the main historic house museum of Wyandotte Museums. The Marx House is also owned by the Museums and used for art exhibits and community meeting space.

The Ford–Bacon House is located at 45 Vinewood in Wyandotte, Michigan. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1987 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. It is now used as the Bacon Memorial District Library.
