Heinold's First and Last Chance Saloon

Jack London Square is an entertainment and business destination on the waterfront of Oakland, California, United States. Named after the author Jack London and owned by the Port of Oakland, it is the home of stores, restaurants, hotels, an Amtrak station, a San Francisco Bay Ferry ferry dock, the historic Heinold's First and Last Chance Saloon, the (re-located) cabin where Jack London lived in the Klondike, and a movie theater. A farmer's market is hosted among the retail shops on Sunday mornings. The former presidential yacht USS Potomac is moored at an adjacent slip.

American Bag and Union Hide Company Building is a historical warehouse building in Oakland, California. The American Bag and Union Hide Company building was built in 1917. The American Bag and Union Hide Company building was listed to the National Register of Historic Places on January 10, 2007. Leonard H. Thomas (1882–1967) designed the American Bag and Union Hide Company building. Thomas also designed the Hotel Harrison and the Swan's Market building, also on the National Register. Thomas' family are makers of the Thomas Guides. The building was remodeled in 1994 and 1995 by Marianne and Ron Dreisbach. American Bag and Union Hide Company was an early manufacturer of vacuum cleaners and mending machines. American Bag and Union Hide Company used cotton burlap bags sold as Guaranteed Amerbags. American Bag and Union Hide Company is a brick building noted for the use of three-dimensional polychrome brickwork in its early 20th century utilitarian architectural style. The building was American Bag Co.-Union Hide Co. headquarters from 1912 to 1988. The company is now in Walnut Creek, California. A marker was place at the 299 Third Street Oakland building site by the Jack London Neighborhood Association. The building is now a 4,400 square foot apartment-condo building in Jack London Square.

The Jack London District, also called the Loft District, is a neighborhood of Oakland, California, USA, that occupies the region south of the Nimitz Freeway (Interstate 880) along The Embarcadero, between Adeline and Lake Merritt Channel. It includes and surrounds the Jack London Square shopping and tourist area, as well as the Warehouse District north of the Oakland Amtrak Station. The area has a long history of industrial and warehouse land use. Since the late 1990s, the area has seen residential redevelopment.

Oakland – Jack London Square station is a train station in Jack London Square of Oakland, California, United States. The station is served by Amtrak's Capitol Corridor, Coast Starlight, and San Joaquins trains. Through Amtrak Thruway buses, this station is one of two that serves San Francisco, the other being Emeryville. It is officially named Oakland – Jack London Square / C. L. Dellums Station after C. L. Dellums, co-founder of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters. Of the 74 California stations served by Amtrak, Oakland was the tenth-busiest in FY2012, boarding or de-training an average of about 1,142 passengers daily.

The Western Pacific Depot, also known as 3rd Street station, was a train station in Oakland, California. It opened in 1910 as the western terminus of the Western Pacific Railroad, located on 3rd Street with street running tracks at the corner of Washington Street. It was the last stop of the original California Zephyr, and earlier Exposition Flyer. The station closed in 1970 with the end of the service. The rails leading into the station were also removed with neighboring area redeveloped. The building was subsequently sold and converted to a restaurant and multiple other tenants since. In 1974, it was designated the first Oakland Designated Landmark.

Yoshi's (also known as Yoshi's Jazz Club and Yoshi's Oakland) is a nightclub located in Jack London Square in Oakland, California, United States. The venue originally opened in 1972 as a restaurant in Berkeley, later moving to Claremont Avenue in Oakland. In 1979, the restaurant expanded into a lounge/nightclub hosting local and national jazz musicians. In 1985, the venue was rebranded as Yoshi's Nitespot until 1997, when it moved yet again within the Port of Oakland. The current location began operations May 18, 1997 with a performance by Tito Puente.

USS Potomac (AG-25), formerly USCGC Electra, was Franklin D. Roosevelt's presidential yacht from 1936 until his death in 1945. On August 3, 1941, she played a decoy role while Roosevelt held a secret conference to develop the Atlantic Charter. USS Potomac and USS Sequoia are the last two existing U.S. presidential yachts, after USS Williamsburg was scrapped in January 2016. Potomac is now preserved in Oakland, California, as a National Historic Landmark and the only presidential yacht open to the public.

The Oakland Ferry Terminal (also known as Clay Street Ferry Terminal and Jack London Square Ferry Terminal) is a ferry terminal on the San Francisco Bay, located in Jack London Square in Oakland, California.

The Central Pacific Railroad Depot is a former rail station located in Oakland, California on 7th Street west of Broadway. Originally serving as the western terminal of the San Francisco and Oakland Railroad, the Central Pacific Railroad chose the line as the final link of their transcontinental route and acquired the line and station in 1869. Southern Pacific began operating the line in 1885, and most traffic was rerouted to the 16th Street station when that facility opened in 1912. An additional track was added at some point and both electrified for use in the Key System. A stop continued to operate out front, but the station building had been converted to the Mi Rancho Tortilla Factory in 1939. Tracks were removed with the dismantling of the system. The building was evaluated for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994, however was deemed unlikely to qualify due to changes on the facade.

United States lightship Relief (WLV-605) is a lightvessel now serving as a museum ship in Oakland, California. Built in 1950, she is one of a small number of surviving lightships, and one of an even smaller number built specifically for the United States Coast Guard. Along with her sister ship, the WLV-604 Columbia, she is a good example of the last generation of lightships built. She was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989.

The Posey and Webster Street Tubes are two parallel underwater tunnels connecting the cities of Oakland and Alameda, California, running beneath the Oakland Estuary. Both are immersed tubes, constructed by sinking precast concrete segments to a trench in the Estuary floor, then sealing them together to create a tunnel. The Posey Tube, completed in 1928, currently carries one-way (Oakland-bound) traffic under the Estuary, while the Webster Street Tube, completed in 1963, carries traffic from Oakland to Alameda. The Posey Tube is the second-oldest underwater vehicular tunnel in the US, preceded only by the Holland Tunnel. It is the oldest immersed tube vehicular tunnel in the world.

Alameda Naval Hospital was a large US Navy medical treatment facility in Alameda, California on 77-acre. The Naval Hospital opened in 1941 to service World War 2 troops and their families. The main building was 150,000 square feet with three stories. The hospital was maintained as a state-of-the-art hospital till it closed in 1975. The hospital was near to and supported Naval Air Station Alameda. Alameda Naval Hospital also had a dental unit that operated till closure. By 1960 the hospital was down-sized and used now as a depot to distributing medical supplies and equipment to Navy ships and nearby bases, as the hospital was next to the railroad and truck transportation terminals. Most Navy personnel in need of care were sent to Naval Hospital Oakland starting in 1960. In 1975 the hospital and dental unit closed and only the depot used the building, now called Navy Fleet Industrial Supply Center or Navy FISC Administration Building/Alameda FISC building. The closure of FISC on April 25, 1997 was per Base Realignment and Closure procedures ordered by the US Congress and the United States Department of Defense. The site was abandoned and a March 29, 2009 fire gutted the building and two nearby Army buildings. After the closure the building was used sometimes for urban assault training. Because the building was abandoned for many years it became an Urban legend site. The site of the Alameda Naval Hospital started as a 1930s Army Air Corp base called Benton Field, the land was turned over to the Navy in 1941 for the hospital. The Catellus Development Corporation had planned a development project on the property but canceled. In 2013 Vista Environmental, a hazmat team removed most of the building. on October 19, 2019 the city approved a development plan to use 17-acre of the former Naval Hospital land. Catellus Development Corporation has the right now to build on the land. The plan calls for 354 residences, include 30 single-family homes, 93 townhouses, 138 micro townhouses and 96 standard apartments. The new homes are called Bay37 by Pulte Homes.
