Panama State

The Isthmus Department, or Department of Panama (Spanish: Departamento de Panamá), was one of the departments of the Republic of Gran Colombia and later of the Republic of Colombia. It was created in 1824 and named after the Isthmus of Panama. It covered the territory of what is now the country of Panama and some coastal territories farther northward along the Caribbean shoreline of present-day Costa Rica and Nicaragua (Mosquito Coast). After the Thousand Days' War and the influence of the United States to build the Panama Canal the former Department of Gran Colombia separated from Colombia and became the Republic of Panama.

Lotería is a Panama Metro station on Line 1. The station was not in the original metro plans and was the twelfth station to be opened. The official opening was carried out by President of Panama Juan Carlos Varela on 27 August 2014, four months after the network had opened. The station was originally to be called Marañón after a nearby district, but, in February 2012, was renamed to reflect its proximity to the offices of Panama's national lottery.In its first year of operations, Lotería was the ninth most used station of the twelve on the network at that time, used by 8% of the network's passengers.

Calidonia is a corregimiento within Panama City, in Panamá District, Panamá Province, Panama with a population of 19,108 as of 2010. Its population as of 1990 was 23,974; its population as of 2000 was 19,729.

The National Archives of Panama (Spanish: Archivo Nacional de Panamá) is the institution in charge of safeguarding national documents. It was created by Law No. 43 of December 14, 1912, under the administration of President Belisario Porras, being Panama the first republic in America to have a building dedicated to its national archive.Since its creation, it has had the mandate to protect the documentary material of patrimonial value and record of the historical memory of the country, in addition to the preservation of the historical-cultural heritage for current and future generations.

The Yacht Club Tower is a residential skyscraper in the Calidonia district of Panama City, Panama. Built between 2008 and 2012, the tower stands at 196 m (643 ft) tall with 57 floors and is the 24th tallest building in Panama City.

Hospital Nacional (English: National Hospital) is a private hospital in Panama City, Panama. It is located at Avenida Cuba and 38th Street in Bella Vista.

The Sky Residences is a residential skyscraper in the Costa del Este district of Panama City, Panama. Built between 2007 and 2009, the tower stands at 180 m (590 ft) tall with 51 floors, and is the current 29th tallest building in Panama City.

Santo Tomás is a Panama Metro station on Line 1. Construction of the station began on 16 August 2011 and it was one of the first 11 stations when the metro began operations on 6 April 2014.The station provides access to Hospital Santo Tomas and the Cinta Costera. It has hosted displays of sculptures and photography. In its first year of operations, Santo Tomas was the tenth most used station of the twelve on the network at that time, carrying 8% of the system's users at peak times.

The Afro-Antillean Museum of Panama (Spanish: Museo Afroantillano de Panamá) simply known as the Afro-Antillean Museum or MAAP, is an ethnographic museum located in Panama City. The museum was founded on December 23, 1980, by Reina Torres de Araúz in the building of the Former Christian Mission Chapel. The building was constructed between 1909 and 1910, which was the meeting place for a group of Barbadian Protestants. It is currently administered by the Ministry of Culture of Panama, and supported by the Society of Friends of the Afro-Antillean Museum of Panama. It is in charge of spreading the Afro-Antillean culture and its contribution to Panamanian history and culture. Among its exhibits there are articles for personal use, work tools and household objects, photographs, documents and videos. It has an exhibition that explains the construction of the Christian Mission Chapel and others that show the arrival of Afro-Antilleans to Panama, their way of life and contribution to the culture of Panama.
