Littley Green

Leez Priory is a 16th-century mansion in Little Leighs, a small parish in the district of Chelmsford in the county of Essex, England. The civil parish boundary between Felsted and Great and Little Leighs crosses the priory, so that it partially lies in Felsted and partially in Great and Little Leighs. The priory was designated a Grade I listed building in 1952.

Hartford End is a hamlet in the civil parish of Felsted and the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. The hamlet is on the B1417 road approximately 2 miles (3 km) from the village of Felsted. The headquarters of Ridley's Brewery was in Hartford End.

Howe Street is a rural hamlet on the banks of the River Chelmer. It is situated in the parish of Great Waltham, in the Chelmsford district, in the county of Essex, England. It is 6 miles north of the City centre. It has a population of around 200, the village post office and shop closed in 2008 and closest nearby shop and schools are located in Great Waltham 1.3 miles away. Howe Street has a Historic Grade II listed 14th-century Freehouse pub (one of the oldest in Essex) known as The Green Man, which opened 7 November 2016 to the public, after major refurbishment costing £3 million and investment being part of a new venture for renowned Essex born Michelin star chef brothers Chris and Geoff Galvin. It is one of several listed historic buildings in the hamlet many of which are well preserved examples of Early East Anglia Timber Frame construction. There is also some light industry including an active working farm known as Fitzandrews (part of the Langleys Estate) and several commercial units located at Warners Farm providing local employment. Howe Street is also known as the birthplace of Milbank Floors established by Geoffrey Milbank in 1947 however no longer based in the village they were located on the site now known as Bridge Croft - a 1980s built housing development.

Bannister Green is a village near Felsted, in the Uttlesford district, in the county of Essex, England. It was the site of Bannister Green Halt railway station on the Bishop's Stortford-Braintree Branch Line, prior to that station's closure in 1952. The local old traditional pub 'The Three Horseshoes' is now closed down. In 2018 it had an estimated population of 1167.

Chatham Green is a hamlet in the civil parish of Little Waltham and the Chelmsford district of Essex, England. The hamlet is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north from Little Waltham village, and approximately 4 miles (6 km) north from the county town of Chelmsford. Chatham Green is adjacent to the A131 road, which runs to the A130, combined being the road from Braintree to Chelmsford. Chatham Green's public house and restaurant is The Windmill. Within the hamlet are twelve Grade II listed houses and cottages. Chatham was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Cetham.

Little Leighs is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Great and Little Leighs, in the Chelmsford district in the English county of Essex. In 1931 the parish had a population of 158. On 1 April 1949 the parish was abolished and merged with Great Leighs to form "Great and Little Leighs".Little Leighs lies beside the River Ter, just south of the village of Great Leighs. Until rerouting bypassed the village, Little Leighs was on the A131 road. The church in the village is dedicated to St John the Evangelist. Built of flint rubble, the fabric of the structure dates back at least as far as the early twelfth century.

Ford End is a small village in the parish of Great Waltham halfway between Chelmsford and Great Dunmow in Essex, England, comprising over 150 houses. In 2018 it had an estimated population of 733. Circa 1870, it had a population of 775 as recorded in the Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales.

Little Waltham is a village and civil parish just north of Chelmsford, in Essex, England. It is adjacent to the village of Great Waltham. The Domesday Book refers to the two villages as Waltham, consisting of several manors. The site of an Iron Age village was excavated before upgrading the main road north between the current villages. The village straddles the River Chelmer. Its main street has a number of old houses near the bridge, notably a rare Essex example of a Wealden hall house, now divided into three cottages. A footpath leads south alongside the river to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, part of which is a nature reserve. The countryside is under continued threat from housing and road development.

Great Waltham — also known as Church End — is a village and civil parish in the Chelmsford district, in the county of Essex.The parish contains the village of Ford End, and the hamlets of Broad's Green, Howe Street, Littley Green, North End and Fanner's Green, and the hamlet of Breeds, part of Great Waltham village. Walthambury Brook, a tributary of the River Chelmer, flows west to east through the parish and at the north of the village. It is twinned with the French town of Ceyrat.

Minnow End is a hamlet in the parish of Great Waltham in Chelmsford district, in the English county of Essex. Nearby settlements include the town of Chelmsford and the villages of Great Waltham and Little Waltham. For transport there is the B1008 road, the A131 road and the A130 road nearby.

Phyllis Currie Nature Reserve is an 8.9-hectare (22-acre) nature reserve north-west of Great Leighs in Essex. It is owned and managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust.This site is named after Mrs Phyllis Currie, who bequeathed it to the trust. It has diverse habitats, with grassland, a lake, woodland and ditches. Birds include kingfishers and grey herons, and 23 species of butterflies and 13 of dragonflies and damselflies have been recorded.There is access from Dumney Lane.

Breeds is a hamlet in the Great Waltham civil parish of the Chelmsford district of Essex, England. It is situated on South Street of the village of Great Waltham, to which it is conjoined, and of which it is part. The county town of Chelmsford is approximately 2 miles (3 km) to the south.
