Podova (pronounced [ˈpoːdɔʋa]) is a settlement in the Municipality of Rače–Fram in northeastern Slovenia. It lies on the flatlands on the right bank of the Drava River southeast of Rače. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Drava Statistical Region.A small chapel in the village square dates to the late 18th century.

The Drava Statistical Region (Slovene: Podravska statistična regija) is a statistical region in Slovenia. The largest city in the region is Maribor. The region's name comes from the Drava River and includes land on both banks along its course through Slovenia as well as the Pohorje mountains in the northeast of the region. The Drava is used for the production of hydroelectricity and the fertile land around it is used for agriculture. The share of job vacancies in all available jobs is among the highest in Slovenia and the region has a positive net migration rate but a very high natural decrease, which means an overall decrease in the population.

It lies under the eastern Pohorje Hills on the edge of the plain on the right bank of the Drava River south of Maribor. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Drava Statistical Region.Rače Castle is a 16th-century castle west of the settlement. It was built between 1528 and 1533 and was originally surrounded by a moat. In the 17th century two round towers and a chapel dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk were added to the building. A square tower on the opposite side of the building dates to 1915.

Traces of Neolithic, Bronze Age and Roman period settlements have been identified at excavations in the area of the village.

Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport (Slovene: Letališče Edvarda Rusjana Maribor) (IATA: MBX, ICAO: LJMB) is an international airport in Maribor, Slovenia. The second biggest and second most important Slovenian airport, it is the only other airport besides the airport in Ljubljana suitable for international commercial aviation, equipped with ILS. At this location, the airport Skoke has been for sports purposes since 1953, and in 1976 it was complemented for international traffic. It is located in Hoče–Slivnica which is about 5 km (3.1 mi) south from Maribor. In 2008 it was renamed after the Slovene pioneer aviator Edvard Rusjan. The oldest Slovene aeroclub: Letalski center Maribor establish in 1927 also operates as one of the founders at the airport. In recent years this airport has become a popular place for training for many European airlines.
