Fléron (French pronunciation: [fleʁɔ̃] (listen); Walloon: Fléron) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On January 1, 2006, Fléron had a total population of 16,088. The total area is 13.72 km2 (5 sq mi) which gives a population density of 1,172 inhabitants per km². Fléron is east of the city of Liège. The municipality consists of the following districts: Fléron, Magnée, Retinne, and Romsée. The reminders of Fort de Fléron are in the center of the village of Fléron.

The Fort d'Évegnée is one of twelve forts built around Liège, Belgium, in the late 19th century. The overall Fortified Position of Liège was a constituent part of the country's National Redoubt. Fort d'Évegnée was built between 1881 and 1884 according to the plans of General Henri Alexis Brialmont. Contrasting with the French forts built in the same era by Raymond Adolphe Séré de Rivières, the fort was built exclusively of unreinforced concrete, a new material, rather than masonry. The fort was heavily bombarded by German artillery in the Battle of Liège in World War I and again at the opening of World War II. It is now an industrial site, used for the storage and testing of rocket propellant.

On January 1, 2006, Beyne-Heusay had a total population of 11,711. The total area is 7.32 km² which gives a population density of 1,600 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Bellaire, Beyne-Heusay, and Queue-du-Bois.

Wégimont Castle (French: Château de Wégimont) is a castle in the ancienne commune of Ayeneux, Soumagne, Liège Province, Wallonia, Belgium. During World War II, under the name Heim Ardennen, it was one of Nazi Germany's SS operated Lebensborn maternity homes.

Trooz (French pronunciation: ​[tʁo]; Walloon: LiTrô) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On July 1, 2012, Trooz had 8,432 registered inhabitants, of whom 4,199 were male and 4,233 female. The total area is 24.00 km² which gives a population density of 351 inhabitants per km².Trooz is situated on the Vesdre River, and is part of the GREOA (Groupement Régional Économique des vallées de l'Ourthe et de l'Amblève) regional grouping for economic purposes. The municipality consists of the following districts: Forêt, Fraipont, Nessonvaux. The town centre is the former hamlet of Trooz, in the district of Forêt, which gave its name to the municipality.

The fort was heavily bombarded by German artillery in the Battle of Liège. Barchon was upgraded in the 1930s in an attempt to forestall or slow an attack from Germany. It saw action in 1940 during the Battle of Belgium, and was captured by German forces. It is preserved as a museum and may be visited by the public.

The Soumagne Tunnel is the longest rail tunnel in Belgium, with a length of 6,505 metres (21,342 ft). Built on the HSL 3 line of the Belgian TGV service for Brussels-Liège-Cologne, the tunnel was completed in 2004. The new line was opened on 12 June 2009. The tunnel links the Liège conurbation with the Herve plateau at a depth of 120 metres (390 ft). Construction and outfitting of the tunnel took place from 2001 to 2005, with the first trains passing through in 2009. The entrances are at Vaux-sous-Chèvremont 50°36′12″N 5°38′14″E and Soumagne 50°36′40″N 5°43′33″E. The tunnel passes under Chaudfontaine, Fléron, Romsée and Ayeneux. The bored section is 5,940 metres (6,500 yd), extended by covered sections of respectively 177 and 388 m. Dozens of geological layers of differing hardness had to be tunnelled through, lime layers needing to be blasted through with dynamite. The tunnel reaches a depth of 127 m in some areas; it has an average ramp height of 1.7%, with a maximum of 2% at the entrance in Soumagne. The free space profile in the tunnel is approximately 69 m2 (740 sq ft), which restricts speeds to 200 km/h (120 mph).

The total area is 27.14 km2 which gives a population density of 585 inhabitants per km2. The municipality consists of the following districts: Ayeneux, Cerexhe-Heuseux, Évegnée-Tignée, Mélen, Micheroux, and Soumagne.

Nessonvaux is a section of the municipality of Trooz in Wallonia, located in the province of Liège, Belgium.

Blegny (French pronunciation: ​[bleɲi], before 2001: Blégny; Walloon: Blegné) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the Province of Liège, Belgium. On January 1, 2006, Blegny had a total population of 12,799. The total area is 26.07 km² which gives a population density of 491 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Barchon, Housse, Mortier, Saint-Remy, Saive, and Trembleur (town centre).
