Chelsea Academy

The Kensington Canal was a canal, about two miles long, opened in 1828 in London from the River Thames on the parish boundary between Chelsea and Fulham, along the line of Counter's Creek, to a basin near Warwick Road in Kensington. It had one lock near the Kensington Basin and wharves on the Fulham side, south of Lillie bridge. It was not commercially successful, and was purchased by a railway company, which laid a line along the route of the canal on the Fulham side. A second railway line followed in the filled-in littoral of the canal, thus one became London Underground's Wimbledon branch and the other, the West London Line.

The Heatherley School of Fine Art is an independent art school in London. The school was named after Thomas Heatherley who took over as the school's principal from James Mathews Leigh (when it was named "Leigh's"). Founded in 1845, the school is affectionately known as Heatherleys. It is one of the oldest independent art schools in London and is among the few art colleges in Britain that focus on portraiture, figurative painting and sculpture.It opened a new school, on George Street (off Baker Street), London, in November 1927 after previously being located on Newman Street. In 2008 the school moved to a purpose designed building in Lots Road, Chelsea.

Lots Road Power Station is a disused coal and later oil-fired and later gas-fired power station on the River Thames at Lots Road in Chelsea, London in the south-west of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, which supplied electricity to the London Underground system. It is sometimes erroneously referred to as Fulham Power Station, a name properly applied to another former station a mile south-west along the Tideway.

The 606 Club (also known as "The Six") is a jazz club in Chelsea, London. The club is in a basement venue at 90 Lots Road in London SW10 (opposite Lots Road Power Station) and is currently licensed for 175 people. It offers jazz, Latin, soul, R&B, blues and gospel music seven nights a week, and sometimes also on Sunday afternoons, making it one of the busiest jazz clubs in Europe.The club has been owned and run by musician Steve Rubie since 1976. According to Rubie, the club's history goes back much further and it was active in the 1960s.The club was originally a small 30-seater venue at 606 King's Road, but moved to its current site in May 1988.

Imperial Wharf is a London Overground and National Rail station located in Sands End in west London on the West London Line, and is next to Chelsea Harbour. The station is between West Brompton and Clapham Junction stations and services are provided by London Overground and Southern. The station opened on Sunday 27 September 2009 and is managed by London Overground.The station is in the sub-district of Sands End where the railway passes over Townmead Road. It takes its name from the adjacent redevelopment of a brownfield former industrial site, which has been developed into a luxury 1,800 apartment river-side complex by property developers St George since 2004. As the Imperial Wharf development continued to grow, so did the business case for the Imperial Wharf station. A further application for 1,500 residential units including a 37-storey tower was submitted to Hammersmith & Fulham Council in early 2009.The station is also adjacent to Chelsea Harbour, and was known by this name during early stages of development.

Chelsea Harbour Pier is a pier on the River Thames, in London, United Kingdom. It is located on the North Bank of the Thames, in the Sands End area of Fulham. The pier serves the redeveloped Chelsea Harbour, a former commercial wharf which has been converted to luxury residential use.

Stanley House at 550 King's Road is a 17th-century house in Chelsea, London, the former house of Admiral Sir Charles Wager. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Sandford Manor House is a Grade II* listed house in Rewell Street, Fulham, London.It was probably built in the late 17th century, but with later alterations and additions. It has been converted to offices.The house is reputed to have been the residence of Nell Gwynne, the long-time mistress of King Charles II of England.

Counter's Creek, ending in Chelsea Creek, the lowest part of which still exists, was a stream that flowed from Kensal Green, by North Kensington and flowed south into the River Thames on the Tideway at Sands End, Fulham. Its remaining open watercourse is the quay of Chelsea Creek.

Granny Takes a Trip was a boutique opened in February 1966 at 488 Kings Road, Chelsea, London, by Nigel Waymouth, his girlfriend Sheila Cohen and John Pearse. The shop, which was acquired by Freddie Hornik in 1969, remained open until the mid-1970s and has been called the "first psychedelic boutique in Groovy London of the 1960s".It was also the name of a Purple Gang song of the 1960s, which was named after the store and banned by the BBC.The name has been appropriated by clothing stores around the world that are not connected with the original Granny Takes a Trip, including present-day vintage fashion stores in Hermosa Beach, California, Sunset Boulevard and Sydney, Australia.

World's End is a district of Chelsea, London, lying at the western end of the King's Road. Once a Victorian slum area, council housing was built here in the 20th century, including the brutalist architecture World's End estate.

Gandalf's Garden was a mystical community which flourished at the end of the 1960s as part of the London hippie-underground movement, and ran a shop and a magazine of the same name. It emphasised the mystical interests of the period, and advocated meditation and psychedelics in contrast to hard drugs.
