Blackborough Priory

Blackborough End Pit is a 13.2-hectare (33-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest south-east of King's Lynn in Norfolk. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This site is important as a demonstration of erosion during the Lower Cretaceous. The Carstone Formation, which dates to the Albian around 110 million years ago, rests unconformably on the Leziate Beds, which date to the Valanginian, over 130 million years ago, and the normally intervening Dersingham Beds are missing.The site is private land with no public access.

Middleton is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 5.02 sq mi (13.0 km2) and had a population of 1,516 in 621 households at the 2001 census, reducing to 1,450 at the 2011 Census.The village's name means 'Middle farm/settlement'. Middleton is the second village on the A47 road to Norwich, after North Runcton, and lies approximately 3 miles (5 km) east of King's Lynn. The A47, the main road of Norfolk, effectively divides the village in two, and has long been a site of road traffic accidents. Fair Green and Blackborough End are also areas of Middleton. Fair Green is on the northern part of the village, whilst Blackborough End is in the southern half of the village. Middleton has a primary school, Middleton V.C. Primary School, a village hall, a post office and a car repair garage called Total Motors. The village church is called Saint Mary's, and the current Rector is the Revd Jim Ryan. The church is situated beside the A47, opposite the Middletons Steakhouse & Grill. The village had a petrol filling station, but this closed during the 1990s. The village also has a golf club.

Wormegay is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The village is situated some 9 kilometres (5.6 miles) south of King's Lynn and 60 km (37 mi) west of Norwich.It covers an area of 12.18 km2 (4.7 sq mi) and had a population of 339 in 141 households at the 2001 census, the population increasing to 359 at the 2011 census.For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. Norfolk County Council is responsible for roads, some schools, and social services. For Westminster elections the parish forms part of the North West Norfolk constituency. The place-name 'Wormegay' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, and means 'the island of Wyrm's people'.The parish church is a Grade II* listed building. Just to the west of the village centre lies Wormegay Castle, a motte-and-bailey earthwork.

Middleton Towers is a privately owned country house in Norfolk, England, near the village of Middleton and about 3 miles (5 km) east of King's Lynn. The hall is a Grade I listed building, and the adjacent earthworks are a scheduled monument. The building, within a moat, consists of a 15th-century gatehouse and a house of the late 19th and early 20th century.

Middleton Towers railway station was a station in Middleton, Norfolk. It was on the line between Swaffham and King's Lynn, and closed along with the rest of the line in 1968.

The nearest railway station is at King's Lynn for the Fen Line which runs between King's Lynn and Cambridge. The nearest airport is Norwich International Airport. The parish of Leziate in the 2001 census, has a population of 581, including Ashwicken and increasing to 592 at the 2011 census.

Shouldham Priory was a priory in the village of Shouldham, Norfolk, England. It was founded about 1190, and was surrendered in 1538 during the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

East Winch Common is a 26.1-hectare (64-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south-east of King's Lynn in Norfolk. It is common land and is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.This site is mainly wet acid heath on peat, and it is dominated by heather and cross-leaved heath. There are many wet hollows, which have diverse fen and mire flora, and areas of young woodland.The reserve is open to the public.

Pentney Priory was an Augustinian priory at Pentney in the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, Norfolk, England. The ruins of the priory, mostly comprising the flint-built gatehouse, are Grade I listed.The Priory was founded c.1130 by Robert de Vaux and dedicated to the Holy Trinity, Blessed Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene. In 1468 Walter Hart, Bishop of Norwich, united Pentney with Wormegay Priory with the consent of both establishments, Wormgay becoming a cell of Pentney. Pentney Priory was finally dissolved in 1537 as part of the Dissolution of the Monasteries under King Henry VIII. Prior Codde, prior at the time, was awarded a pension of £24 and appointed warden of the Hospital of St Giles, Norwich.The property was granted to Thomas Manners, 1st Earl of Rutland in 1538/9 and ultimately became incorporated into Abbey Farm, which now occupies the site. Stone from the Priory has been used in Abbey Farm and its outbuildings on the site, as well as other buildings in the village of Pentney. In 2012 English Heritage granted £200,000 for emergency repairs to the crumbling masonry.
