Wormegay Castle

Wormegay is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The village is situated some 9 kilometres (5.6 miles) south of King's Lynn and 60 km (37 mi) west of Norwich.It covers an area of 12.18 km2 (4.7 sq mi) and had a population of 339 in 141 households at the 2001 census, the population increasing to 359 at the 2011 census.For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. Norfolk County Council is responsible for roads, some schools, and social services. For Westminster elections the parish forms part of the North West Norfolk constituency. The place-name 'Wormegay' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, and means 'the island of Wyrm's people'.The parish church is a Grade II* listed building. Just to the west of the village centre lies Wormegay Castle, a motte-and-bailey earthwork.

Blackborough End Pit is a 13.2-hectare (33-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest south-east of King's Lynn in Norfolk. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This site is important as a demonstration of erosion during the Lower Cretaceous. The Carstone Formation, which dates to the Albian around 110 million years ago, rests unconformably on the Leziate Beds, which date to the Valanginian, over 130 million years ago, and the normally intervening Dersingham Beds are missing.The site is private land with no public access.

Blackborough Priory was a Benedictine monastic house in Norfolk, England, about 5 miles or 8 km south east of King's Lynn. The Ordnance Survey map shows the remains of fishponds nearby, which may have been for the use of the monastery.

It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This site throws light on sea level changes in the Holocene, the period since the end of the last ice age, 11,700 years ago. It is part of a network of Fenland sites which allows correlation across the area.The site is private land with no public access.

Middleton is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 5.02 sq mi (13.0 km2) and had a population of 1,516 in 621 households at the 2001 census, reducing to 1,450 at the 2011 Census.The village's name means 'Middle farm/settlement'. Middleton is the second village on the A47 road to Norwich, after North Runcton, and lies approximately 3 miles (5 km) east of King's Lynn. The A47, the main road of Norfolk, effectively divides the village in two, and has long been a site of road traffic accidents. Fair Green and Blackborough End are also areas of Middleton. Fair Green is on the northern part of the village, whilst Blackborough End is in the southern half of the village. Middleton has a primary school, Middleton V.C. Primary School, a village hall, a post office and a car repair garage called Total Motors. The village church is called Saint Mary's, and the current Rector is the Revd Jim Ryan. The church is situated beside the A47, opposite the Middletons Steakhouse & Grill. The village had a petrol filling station, but this closed during the 1990s. The village also has a golf club.

West Winch is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 8.02 km2 (3.10 sq mi) and had a population of 2,596 in 1,068 households at the 2001 census, the population increasing to 2,734 at the 2011 census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. The village's name means 'pasture (specialised) farm'. 'West' to distinguish from East Winch.West Winch is situated on the A10 several miles south of the town of King's Lynn. The most celebrated feature is a windmill (at grid reference TF63131678) that was restored from dereliction between 1973 and 1980 and is now complete with sails. Cartoonist Osbert Lancaster is buried in the church graveyard, having previously opened the William Burt Social Club in 1974. A plaque on the club's wall commemorates this event. A range of recycling facilities are adjacent to the club. West Winch Primary School received a 'good' rating from Ofsted in 2014.
