Bunny Hall is a 21,438 square feet (1,991.7 m2) grade I listed country house in Bunny, Nottinghamshire. The house was originally an Elizabethan red brick house with an 80 foot high tower. The house was rebuilt in 1720 by Sir Thomas Parkyns, 2nd Baronet and now stands in 14.5 acres (5.9 ha) of formal gardens and parkland. It has been equipped with a cinema room and a leisure area equipped with gymnasium, steam and sauna rooms, a large indoor heated pool and separate Jacuzzi and spa area. There is also a large orangery, drawing room, library and a circular glazed frosted dome allowing light to illuminate the hallway and staircase.The hall is listed Grade I on the National Heritage List for England. Several buildings and structures associated with the hall are listed Grade II; these include the stable block, an out building to the north, a barn dating from 1734, the carriage archway and barns, and the garden walls and garden outbuildings, and the gate piers and walls around the park.A chest tomb near the hall and the sundial are also Grade II listed.

Ruddington () is a large village in the Borough of Rushcliffe in Nottinghamshire, England. The village is 5 miles (8 km) south of Nottingham and 11 miles (18 km) northwest of Loughborough. It had a population of 6,441 at the 2001 Census, increasing to 7,216 at the 2011 Census and 7,674 in 2021. Ruddington is twinned with Grenay, France.The village residents have previously conducted high-profile campaigns in an attempt to retain the rural identity as a village and prevent it being subsumed into the adjoining suburban village of Clifton and town of West Bridgford. Ruddington Hall is a country house standing in the grounds of a garden in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire, England. Ruddington Hall has been included in the art work of Nikolaus Pevsner alongside the Elizabethan Wollaton Hall and Newstead Abbey, ancestral home of Lord Byron. Pevsner described it as having a classical ethic of "calm grandeur, and monumental simplicity".

Basford was a rural district close to Nottingham, England, from 1894 to 1974. The district consisted of two detached parts, to the north and south of Nottingham. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894 based on the existing Basford rural sanitary district.The Nottingham suburb of Basford was not part of the rural district, having been added to Nottingham in 1877. Bilborough, Wollaton and parts of both Bestwood Park and Colwick were transferred to the City of Nottingham in 1933. The area of Leake Rural District was added to Basford Rural District in 1935. In 1952 parts of the Clifton with Glapton and Ruddington parishes were also transferred to the City of Nottingham. In 1974 the district was split between the new non-metropolitan districts of Ashfield, Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe. The parishes of Annesley, Felley and Selston went to Ashfield; the parishes of Awsworth, Brinsley, Cossall, Greasley, Kimberley, Nuthall, Strelley and Trowell went to Broxtowe; the parishes of Bestwood Park, Burton Joyce, Calverton, Lambley, Linby, Newstead, Papplewick, Stoke Bardolph and Woodborough went to Gedling, and the rest to Rushcliffe including the small towns of Ruddington and Radcliffe on Trent.

The Great Central Railway (Nottingham) (formerly known as the Nottingham Heritage Railway) is a heritage railway located at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre (NTHC), on the south side of the village of Ruddington, in Nottinghamshire. The route consists of almost 10 miles (16 km) of the former Great Central Main Line from Loughborough South Junction (with the Midland Main Line) to Fifty Steps Bridge and the site of Ruddington's former GCR station, plus a branch line from Fifty Steps Bridge to Ruddington Fields station which is located on a former Ministry of Defence site next to Rushcliffe Country Park. There are stations open to the public at Ruddington Fields (within the main centre site) and at Rushcliffe Halt. The GCR(N) aim to re-open the former station at East Leake in the longer term.The railway is currently not connected to Great Central Railway (at Loughborough Central in Leicestershire), although there are plans well underway and work has started to reunite the two preserved lines by bridging the Loughborough Gap. This is a major engineering project that is expected to be completed between 2024 and 2028. Some 5.5 miles (8.9 km) of the line was used by gypsum trains serving the British Gypsum works at East Leake until early 2020.

Ruddington is a disused railway station on the Great Central Main Line south of Nottingham. The line had branches that ran to the now decommissioned Ruddington Depot. It was originally a standard GCR country island type station, like those surviving at Quorn and Woodhouse and Rothley, accessed from a road overbridge. The station buildings have been demolished though the island platform still survives. Just south of the station is where the northern end of the northern preserved section of the GCRH starts. The station opened 15 March 1899 and closed to passengers on 4 March 1963, though passenger trains continued to pass through until closure of the line on 3 May 1969. Goods trains continued until the 1980s. During WW2 a new railway station, Ruddington Factory Halt railway station, was constructed at Ruddington Depot The Great Central Railway (Nottingham) have opened a station at Ruddington Fields on the site of the Ministry of Defence Depot and plan to purchase the station, restore it and extend the current preserved Great Central.In March 2021, a bid was submitted to restore the Great Central Railway from Leicester to Ruddington as part of the third round of the Department for Transport Restoring Your Railway fund.
