The Amazing Brentwood (previously Brentwood Town Centre and also referred to as Brentwood Mall) is a shopping mall in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. It is located in the Brentwood area of North Burnaby, at the intersection of Willingdon Avenue and Lougheed Highway, approximately 1.5 kilometres (0.9 mi) from the city of Vancouver.

Guichon Creek is one of the most significant tributaries of Still Creek, an important waterway in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.Guichon Creek is named after a pioneer family of the same name who owned land in Burnaby. The family owned a hunting cabin at the top of a ravine near Willingdon Avenue - then also known as Guichon Road.In 1912, Guichon Creek became home to the Phillips-Hoyt Lumber Company, who "put a dam on the waterway to create a canal for transporting logs to a storage pond and a sawmill located on the site now occupied by the British Columbia Institute of Technology." Locals commonly used the creek as a fishing place and swimming hole.Throughout the 1900s, the creek was exploited for resources, causing damage to its biodiversity. Several fish species were unable to reproduce in the creek for decades. However, by the 70s, restoration work begun at its south end. By 2006, Guichon Creek had been restored to a largely natural state thanks to the efforts of BCIT students and the City of Burnaby, among others.

Brentwood Park, or simply Brentwood, is a neighbourhood in North Burnaby, British Columbia, between Willingdon Avenue to the west and Springer Avenue to the east. Hastings Street separates it from the Capitol Hill area to the north, while Lougheed Highway marks the dividing line between this residential area and an area of commercial and industrial land to the south.

D-Wave was the world's first company to sell computers to exploit quantum effects in their operation. D-Wave's early customers include Lockheed Martin, University of Southern California, Google/NASA and Los Alamos National Lab. In 2015, D-Wave's 2X Quantum Computer with more than 1,000 qubits was installed at the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Lab at NASA Ames Research Center. They have subsequently shipped systems with 2,048 qubits. In 2019, D-Wave announced a 5000-qubit system available mid-2020, using their new Pegasus chip with 15 connections per qubit. D-Wave does not implement a generic quantum computer; instead, their computers implement specialized quantum annealing. However, D-Wave announced plans in 2021 that they will work on universal gate-base quantum computers as well in the future.

The station is adjacent to several high-rise condominium complexes which are a component of the Brentwood Town Centre Development Plan, which drives the transformation of the area from a light industrial and lower-occupancy commercial zone into an urbanized centre.

Two Gilmore Place is a skyscraper in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada that is currently under construction. It is located at the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Gilmore Avenue, immediately north of Gilmore station. When completed in 2025, the Two Gilmore Place will become the tallest building in British Columbia at 215.8 metres (708 ft) tall.

Spring Brook is one of many tributaries of Still Creek, an important stream in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. It runs north just east of Boundary Road and joins Still Creek just west of Gilmore Station.The area was once known to Burnaby residents as Broadview. Local old-time residents Margaret and Flora McCallum recall how the children of the neighbourhood waded and played in the creek during hot summers. Local Chinese farmers used the low-lying parts of the creek to cultivate crops of watercress which would be harvested and sold in Vancouver's Chinatown.

Willingdon Heights is a neighbourhood in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. It is named after a major Burnaby thoroughfare Willingdon Avenue connecting North Burnaby with Kingsway and the Metrotown area in the south. Willingdon Heights was developed significantly during construction spurred by the National Housing Act in 1944 that made mortgage money more widely available and provided joint loans for housing for veterans under the Integrated Housing Plan (IHP).

The British Columbia Institute of Technology (also referred to as BCIT), is a public polytechnic institute in Burnaby, British Columbia. The technical institute has five campuses located in the Metro Vancouver region, with its main campus in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. There is also the Aerospace Technology Campus in Richmond, the Marine Campus in the City of North Vancouver, Downtown campus in Vancouver, and Annacis Island Campus in Delta. It is provincially chartered through legislation in the College and Institute Act. The school operates as a vocational and technical school, offering apprenticeships for the skilled trades and diplomas and degrees in vocational education for skilled technicians and workers in professions such as engineering, accountancy, business administration, broadcast/media communications, digital arts, nursing, computing, medicine, architecture, and law. BCIT was first established as the British Columbia Vocational School in 1960. When BCIT opened its Burnaby campus in 1964, initial enrollment was 498 students. As of 2017, enrollment has grown to 18,755 full-time students and 30,593 part-time students. Since its foundation, the institution has been home to over 125,000 alumni.

The Ismaili Centre, Vancouver, is one of six Ismaili Centres worldwide. It was the first purpose-built Ismaili jamatkhana and the first Ismaili centre in North America. North Burnaby is a general name for a large neighbourhood in the City of Burnaby, British Columbia, that includes a number of smaller ones. It stretches from Boundary Road in the west to Burnaby Mountain with Simon Fraser University in the east and bounded by Burrard Inlet to the north and the Lougheed Highway to the south. It is a desirable place to live for many local and immigrant families which is reflected by real-estate prices that keep climbing and have doubled in the last 15 years.
