D-Wave Systems Inc. is a Canadian quantum computing company, based in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. D-Wave was the world's first company to sell computers to exploit quantum effects in their operation. D-Wave's early customers include Lockheed Martin, University of Southern California, Google/NASA and Los Alamos National Lab. In 2015, D-Wave's 2X Quantum Computer with more than 1,000 qubits was installed at the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Lab at NASA Ames Research Center. They have subsequently shipped systems with 2,048 qubits. In 2019, D-Wave announced a 5000-qubit system available mid-2020, using their new Pegasus chip with 15 connections per qubit. D-Wave does not implement a generic quantum computer; instead, their computers implement specialized quantum annealing. However, D-Wave announced plans in 2021 that they will work on universal gate-base quantum computers as well in the future.

Brentwood Town Centre (sometimes abbreviated as Brentwood) is an elevated station on the Millennium Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The British Columbia Institute of Technology (also referred to as BCIT), is a public polytechnic institute in Burnaby, British Columbia. The technical institute has five campuses located in the Metro Vancouver region, with its main campus in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. There is also the Aerospace Technology Campus in Richmond, the Marine Campus in the City of North Vancouver, Downtown campus in Vancouver, and Annacis Island Campus in Delta. It is provincially chartered through legislation in the College and Institute Act. The school operates as a vocational and technical school, offering apprenticeships for the skilled trades and diplomas and degrees in vocational education for skilled technicians and workers in professions such as engineering, accountancy, business administration, broadcast/media communications, digital arts, nursing, computing, medicine, architecture, and law. BCIT was first established as the British Columbia Vocational School in 1960. When BCIT opened its Burnaby campus in 1964, initial enrollment was 498 students. As of 2017, enrollment has grown to 18,755 full-time students and 30,593 part-time students. Since its foundation, the institution has been home to over 125,000 alumni.

The Amazing Brentwood (previously Brentwood Town Centre and also referred to as Brentwood Mall) is a shopping mall in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. It is located in the Brentwood area of North Burnaby, at the intersection of Willingdon Avenue and Lougheed Highway, approximately 1.5 kilometres (0.9 mi) from the city of Vancouver.

Two Gilmore Place is a skyscraper in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada that is currently under construction. It is located at the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Gilmore Avenue, immediately north of Gilmore station. When completed in 2025, the Two Gilmore Place will become the tallest building in British Columbia at 215.8 metres (708 ft) tall.

Forest Lawn Memorial Park is a cemetery in Burnaby, British Columbia in Canada. The burial park was founded in 1936 and the funeral home was established in 1965. The cemetery contains the war graves of 37 Commonwealth service personnel of World War II.

Spring Brook is one of many tributaries of Still Creek, an important stream in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. It runs north just east of Boundary Road and joins Still Creek just west of Gilmore Station.The area was once known to Burnaby residents as Broadview. Local old-time residents Margaret and Flora McCallum recall how the children of the neighbourhood waded and played in the creek during hot summers. Local Chinese farmers used the low-lying parts of the creek to cultivate crops of watercress which would be harvested and sold in Vancouver's Chinatown.

Burnaby Hospital, (formerly known as Burnaby General Hospital) is a healthcare facility located in Burnaby, British Columbia and operated by the Fraser Health Authority (FHA). One of the largest hospitals outside the City of Vancouver, it serves the communities of Burnaby and East Vancouver. A 314-bed primary and secondary care centre, patient care services include general surgery, orthopedic surgery, medicine, perinatal, neonatal ICU, critical care and emergency services.
