OSTRAVAR Aréna (previously ČEZ Aréna, due to sponsorship reasons) is an indoor arena used mainly for ice hockey matches, in Vítkovice, Ostrava, Czech Republic. It opened in 1986, and underwent a € 23.3 million renovation between 2003 and 2004. The arena hosts home games of ice hockey club HC Vítkovice. The capacity of the arena is 9,779, plus 16 skyboxes, making it the fourth-largest hockey venue in the Czech Republic. The rink can be converted into seating for concerts, increasing the capacity to 12,500.

Vítkovice (German: Witkowitz, Polish: Witkowice) is an administrative district of the city of Ostrava, capital of the Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic. Situated on the left bank of the Ostravice River in the Moravian part of the city, Vítkovice was a town in its own right until its incorporation in 1924.

Lower Vítkovice (Czech: Dolní oblast Vítkovice) is a national site of industrial heritage located in the Vítkovice district of Ostrava in the Czech Republic. It includes an extensive industrial area Vítkovice ironworks with a unique collection of industrial architecture. A set of three successive parts - coal mine, coke ovens and blast furnace operations - also called Ostravian Hradčany, after Hradčany, the Castle District of Prague. The area is registered in the list of European cultural heritage, and was placed on the Czech Republic's list of tentative UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2001 under the name The Industrial Complexes at Ostrava.

Hrabová is a municipal district of the city of Ostrava, Czech Republic. It is located on the south side of the city. Hrabová is ranked 10th out of 23 districts by population. The Ostravice river flows through the district. The district has a primary school, nursery schools, medical facilities, a post office and the municipal police.

Ostravar Brewery (Czech: Pivovar Ostravar) is a Czech brewery located in the city of Ostrava. Ostravar was founded in 1897 as a joint stock company in Moravská Ostrava, and the first beer here was brewed in 1898. In 1997 the brewery was acquired by Bass, after a merger with the company Pražské pivovary a.s, which also brews Staropramen. It is one of the few Czech breweries which produces a dry stout, branded Kelt.For most of its history the beer was only sold locally around Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian region. In 2016 the brewery opened its first restaurant, called Ostravarna, and started an initiative to start selling the beer in other parts of the Czech Republic.

Kunčice (Polish: Kończyce Wielkie, German: Gross Kunzendorf, till 1908 known as Velké Kunčice, then as Kunčice nad Ostravicí) is a part of the city of Ostrava, Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic. Administratively it is a part of the district of Slezská Ostrava. Kunčice was formerly an independent municipality, in 1941 it became a part of Ostrava. It lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia.

The Diocese of Ostrava-Opava (Latin: Ostraviensis-Opaviensis) is a suffragan Latin diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Olomouc in Moravskoslezský kraj, Moravia, in the Czech Republic. The cathedral episcopal see is Katedrála Božského Spasitele, dedicated to the Divine Saviour, in Ostrava, and it also has a Co-Cathedral, the Co-Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Opava a Minor Basilica: Basilica of the Visitation of Our Lady in Frýdek-Místek

The Antonín Dvořák Theatre (Czech: Divadlo Antonína Dvořáka) is an opera house in Ostrava, Czech Republic, which opened in 1907. Since 1919 it has been one of two permanent venues of the National Moravian Silesian Theatre.

The Opava (Czech: Opava, Polish: Opawa, German: Oppa) is a river in the north-eastern Czech Republic, a left tributary of the Oder river. It originates at the confluence of Bílá (White), Střední (Middle) and Černá (Black) Opava in Vrbno pod Pradědem and runs over 110 km (69 mi) to the Oder at Ostrava, with some 25 km (16 mi) forming the border with Poland. Its basin area is about 2,090 km2, of which 1,814 km2 in the Czech Republic.After the First Silesian War, by the terms of the Treaty of Breslau in 1742, the Opava in the Duchy of Troppau became the border between Austrian and Prussian Silesia (the later Province of Silesia). After World War I the demarcation was confirmed by the 1919 Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye as the border between Czechoslovakia (Czech Silesia) and the Second Polish Republic.

The National Moravian-Silesian Theatre (Czech: Národní divadlo moravskoslezské; NDM) is a professional theatre company based in Ostrava in the Czech Republic. It is one of ten opera houses in the country, and the largest theatre company in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The NDM has two permanent theatres, the Antonín Dvořák Theatre and the Jiří Myron Theatre. The company was registered in 1918, and the theatre was first opened to the public on 19 August 1919.

Cathedral of the Divine Saviour (Czech: Katedrála Božského Spasitele), located in the center of Ostrava, is the second largest Roman Catholic cathedral in Moravia and Silesia (after the basilica in Velehrad near Uherské Hradiště). This three-nave Neo-Renaissance basilica with a semi-circular apse and two 67m high towers is dating since 1889 (building started in 1883). The church was designed by Gustav Meretta, the official architect of the Archbishop of Olomouc, and the interior by Max von Ferstel. The main nave is 14 m wide and 22 m high, the two side aisles are 7 m wide and 10 m high each. The seating capacity of the cathedral is 4,000 people. On May 30, 1996, Pope John Paul II established the Diocese of Ostrava-Opava, and soon after the basilica has been dignified into a cathedral. In 1998, a new neo-Baroque organ was installed.
