The Owen Building, known more recently as the Bruce Building, is a historic office building at 1321 Lady Street in Columbia, South Carolina. It is an eight-story concrete structure which was built in 1949 around the core of an older two-story brick building. It was designed by Lafaye, Lafaye, and Fair for local businessman Frank Owen, and was the first skyscraper built in the city after World War II. Its primary tenant for many years was Southern Bell Telephone Company, who in 1961 constructed an annex to the building to house computer equipment. It was purchased by the Seibels Bruce Insurance Company, another major tenant, in 1980. The building exterior has been relatively little-altered since its construction, and it retains some of its early internal features, including a period mail chute.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The Washington Street United Methodist Church is a historic church at 1401 Washington Street in Columbia, South Carolina.It was built in 1872 and added to the National Register in 1970.

Tower at 1301 Gervais is a high-rise office building in Columbia, South Carolina, and the tallest building in the city not located along the Main Street corridor. Built in 1973, the tower has dark glazing with anodized aluminum columns to give it a dark, uniform-colored appearance. The top floor of the tower holds a private club with views of the city. It was originally constructed for Bankers Trust as their headquarters. It was the tallest building in the city at its completion until the Palmetto Center was topped out on January 23, 1983. In 2020, the Tower at 1301 Gervais was identified as having an employer who employed an individual who tested positive for Covid-19.

The Carolina Life Insurance Company is a historic commercial building at 1501 Lady Street in Columbia, South Carolina, alternatively known as Seibels, Bruce & Company Building. It is a five-story masonry structure, finished primarily in limestone with granite trim. It presents an angled five-bay facade to the junction of Lady and Bull Streets, and is presently known as the Seibels Building. It was built in 1949 and enlarged in 1977; its original design by the local firm of Lafaye, Lafaye & Fair was a major contribution to the city's modern architecture. The Carolina Life Insurance Company only occupied the building until the early 1960s, when it was merged into another insurance company. It has since 1965 been home to Seibels, Bruce & Company, another insurer.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

The Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina (EDUSC) is a diocese in the Episcopal Church. Originally part of the Diocese of South Carolina, it became independent on October 10–11, 1922 following nearly two years of planning. The see city is Columbia. Its cathedral is Trinity Cathedral. The diocese comprises approximately 60 congregations in the Upstate (northwestern) and Midlands regions of the U.S. state of South Carolina. There are five convocations in the diocese: Midlands (Columbia area), Catawba (Rock Hill area), Foothills (Greenville area), Gravatt (Aiken area), and Piedmont (Spartanburg areas).The bishop is Daniel P. Richards. He was elected bishop on September 25 2021 and was consecrated at Trinity Cathedral as bishop on February 26 2022.Among the Diocese's many institutions, the Bishop Gravatt Center began service in 1949 as a retreat and summer camp site. Now a non-profit corporation with its own Board of Trustees, the Center remains a vital part of the Diocese through its summer camp Christian formation program and numerous diocesan and parish activities such as Happening, Cursillo, youth retreats, vestry retreats, parish family weekends, etc.

Wade Hampton State Office Building is a historic state office building located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built between 1938 and 1940, and is a large six-story building in a restrained Neoclassical style, with Art Deco inspired details. It held the offices of the Attorney General and the Department of Education, who embodied the state's policy of racial segregation. The building was also designed with segregated spaces for African American patrons conducting business there.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Trinity Episcopal Church, now known as Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, is the first Episcopal and the oldest surviving sanctuary in Columbia, South Carolina. It is a Gothic Revival church that is modeled after York Minster in York, England. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places on February 24, 1971.Trinity Church is on east side of Sumter Street between Gervais and Senate Streets. It is directly east of the South Carolina State House.

The James Petigru Boyce Chapel is a historic church building at 1306 Hampton Street in Columbia, South Carolina. It is a Greek Revival building built in 1859. A convention met here on December 17, 1860, whose delegates voted unanimously for South Carolina to secede from the United States, leading to the American Civil War. It was designated a National Historic Landmark as First Baptist Church, the role it played at the time. The building is part of the facilities complex of the First Baptist Church, Columbia- a Southern Baptist megachurch.

The Zimmerman House is a historic home located at Columbia, South Carolina, United States. It was built in 1848, and consists of a 1+1⁄2-story main section and a one-story wing. The front façade features a Greek Revival style pedimented portico supported by two paneled wooden square columns. The house was built by Charles and Hannah Zimmerman, who operated the neighboring Zimmerman School from 1848 to 1870.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

W. B. Smith Whaley House, also known as the Dunbar Funeral Home, is a historic home located at Columbia, South Carolina. It built in 1892–1893, and is a three-story, irregular plan, Queen Anne style frame dwelling. It features a corner turret with conical roof and a long curving enclosed front porch. It was built by W. B. Smith Whaley, president of the Columbia Electric Street Railway and Mill Stable Company. In 1924, it became the Dunbar Funeral Home.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
