St. John's Church (Newark, New Jersey)

The Episcopal Diocese of Newark is a diocese of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America comprising the northern third of New Jersey in the United States. The Diocese represents the Anglican Communion, of which the Episcopal Church is a province, and presides over Episcopal parishes, missions, outreach ministries and schools in the New Jersey counties of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Warren, and one church in Union County.

First Landing Party of the Founders of Newark is a marble monument with bas-relief and inscription by sculptor Gutzon Borglum (1867–1941) near the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey. It was dedicated in 1916. It was listed on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places in 1990 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1994 as part of the Public Sculpture in Newark, New Jersey Multiple Property Submission.

Seton Hall University School of Law is the law school of Seton Hall University, and is located in downtown Newark, New Jersey. Seton Hall Law is the only private law school in New Jersey. The school confers three law degrees: Juris Doctor, Master of Laws, and Master of General Legal Studies. Founded in 1951, it is accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA), and is also a member of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS).

NJPAC/Center Street station is a light rail station on the Newark Light Rail's Broad Street Extension. It is located in Downtown Newark, New Jersey, on the south west corner of the McCarter Highway and Center Street at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) at the northern end of Military Park. The station is above ground, as is the rest of the line to the north. To the south, after crossing Center Street, the train enters a tunnel to the underground station at Newark Penn Station. NJPAC/Center Street is the southernmost station on this line, which links two of Newark's three train stations. To the south of Center Street is Newark Penn Station and to the north is Broad Street Station with stops at Atlantic Street and Riverfront Stadium on game days. Riding southbound the train leaves Broad Street and stops at Washington Park, NJPAC/Center Street, and Penn Station. Service on this line opened on July 17, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

One Theater Square is a mixed-use (residential and commercial) building in Newark, New Jersey. It is located across from Military Park and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, which inspired its name. Completed in 2018, it includes the first newly-constructed high rise apartment building to be built in the city in more than fifty years. It was designed by BLT Architects.

Park Place was a terminal of the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad (H&M) located at the intersection of Park Place and Centre Street in Newark, New Jersey, across the street from Military Park nearby Newark Public Service Terminal. The terminal opened on November 26, 1911, after the H&M extended its line westward from Grove Street in Jersey City to Summit Avenue, Manhattan Transfer, and over the Centre Street Bridge to Newark. The terminal closed on June 20, 1937, after the H&M tracks were realigned to serve the new Newark Penn Station.The H&M was taken over by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in 1962, the system becoming the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH). The New Jersey Performing Arts Center is sited on the location of the terminal adjacent to the Newark Light Rail's NJPAC/Center Street station.

50 Rector Park is an apartment building in Newark, New Jersey, the first market rate residential high-rise to be newly built in the city since 1962. Originally called One Riverview and later 1 Rector Street, there was a groundbreaking in 2013, but construction did not begin at the site until the spring of 2017. It was topped out in April 2018 and opened June 2019.

The Robert Treat Center is an office and hotel complex in Newark, New Jersey, named for Robert Treat, who founded the city in 1666. One building originally opened as the Robert Treat Hotel in 1916. The landmark was later converted to an office building after the construction of a newer hotel next to it. The adjacent buildings are located at Military Park near the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, One Theater Square and New Jersey Historical Society.A portrait of Robert Treat was prominently placed over the fireplace mantle.In 1933, the Hotel was operated by Niagara Falls businessman Frank A. Dudley and the United Hotels Company.The building was purchased in 1987 by The Berger Organization, which has also renovated some of the city's other commercial landmarks, such as the Firemen's Insurance Company Home Office Building and Military Park Building. They sold the Griffith Building, which they had intended to renovate, in 2018.

The New Jersey Historical Society is a historical society and museum located in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The Historical Society is housed in the former headquarters of the Essex Club. It has two floors of exhibition space, a gift shop, and a hall for lectures. The NJHS offers occasional Newark walking tours. The Society formerly published the academic journal, New Jersey History. Exhibitions can be found on the second and third floor while the library reading room is housed on the fifth floor, formerly the Essex Club squash courts The Society is open to the public. Members are free, while non-members pay an admission fee. Patrons visiting the library are encouraged to make an appointment. The current director is Steven Tettamanti.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), in Downtown Newark in Newark, New Jersey, is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States. Home to the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO), more than nine million visitors (including more than one million children) have visited the center since it opened in October 1997 on the site of the former Military Park Hotel.NJPAC has been an important component in revitalization of New Jersey's largest city. Located just west of the Passaic River waterfront, the Center lies in the heart of the city's cultural district around Military Park and Washington Park that also includes The Newark Museum, New Jersey Historical Society, and the Newark Public Library. The Prudential Center is just to the south. Philip S. Thomas was named Vice President of Arts Education in 1992. NJPAC has one of the largest arts education programs offered by a performing arts center in the nation. The program includes arts training classes, scholarships, in-school residencies, professional development, and family and children's programming, allowing students, teachers and families to interact with professional artists and explore the various genres of music, theater, dance, poetry and more.

The Newark Legal Center, also known as One Riverfront Center, is an office building in Newark, New Jersey located along the banks of the Passaic River and connected by a skywalk over Raymond Boulevard to Gateway Center and Penn Station. Originally developed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the twenty story tower contains condominium and rental office space geared to the legal profession. Land between the tower and the riverfront in the shadow of the nearby Dock Bridge, will be incorporated into a Newark Riverfront Park.

The Lenape Trail is a trail through Essex County, connecting many county parks and reservations, wooded spaces, and historical sites. It begins in Newark, New Jersey and ends in Millburn, New Jersey. It was established in 1982. It is the fifth longest trail in the state behind the Delaware and Raritan Canal Trail, the Appalachian Trail, the completed section of the Highlands Trail in the state and the Batona Trail. The Lenape trail traverses Newark and its suburbs, as well as the Watchung Mountains and Passaic Meadows. Because of the steepness of the Watchung Mountains and the flood-prone nature of the Passaic Meadows, the former basin of Glacial Lake Passaic, these areas have remained much less developed than the rest of the northeastern part of the state. This trail therefore offers hikers an opportunity to see cultural and historical sites of an urban trail, as well as large natural and undeveloped areas. The trail's proximity to New York City and the various ridges it traverses, including Forest Hill, Orange Mountain (part of First Watchung Mountain), and Second Watchung Mountain, offer many views of the skyline. The Lenape Trail forms a segment of the Liberty-Water Gap Trail and incorporates the West Essex Trail, the Lenape Trail's only rail-to-trail section. The Lenape Trail also connects with Morris County's Patriots Path trail system on its western terminus. The Lenape Trail is maintained by volunteers of the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference in partnership with local park conservancies and the Essex County Park System.
