Angoares, Ponteareas

Ponteareas is a town and municipality in the province of Pontevedra, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It belongs to the comarca of O Condado. It is located on the Vigo-Benavente highway and on the river Tea, a right-hand tributary of the Miño. It is the chief town of a fertile hilly region, which produces wine, grain and fruit, and contains many cattle farms. The industries of the town itself are porcelain manufactures, tanning and distilling. Close by are the ruins of the Sobroso Castle, which played an important part in the medieval civil wars. While it is located in the nearby town, Mondariz, it is owned by the council of Ponteareas.

Mondariz–Balneario is a spa town and municipality in Galicia, Spain. Originally, a simple parish (Troncoso) of the neighbouring town of Mondariz, it grew into a spa town in the late 19th century following the popularisation of its water which was reputed to have medicinal qualities. It has the distinction of being the smallest municipality in Galicia and one of the smallest in Spain with an area of 2.4 km2.

Salvaterra de Miño is a town and municipality (concello) in the province of Pontevedra, autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It's located on the southern border of the province of Pontevedra, at the confluence of the valleys of the rivers Tea and Minho, and by the natural limits of the Serra da Cañiza. It borders the Municipalities of As Neves in the east, Mondariz and Poteareas to the north, and to the south by the Minno river. The Minno river (Río Miño or Rio Minho) is the southern natural border that today separates Portugal with its fortified town of Monção from current Galicia to the north.

Salceda de Caselas is a municipality in Galicia, Spain, in the province of Pontevedra. It is bordered to the north by the municipality of Ponteareas, to the southeast by the municipality of Salvaterra de Miño, to the southwest by the municipality of Tui, and to the northwest by O Porriño. Francisco Estévez, father of United States actor Martin Sheen (real name Ramón Estévez), comes from the parish of Parderrubias.

Mos is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra in Galicia, Spain. Mos is adjacent to Vigo. The Louro River flows through Mos from north to south, making the municipality a valley region. There is no significant urban nucleus and most of the population live scattered across the municipality. Family-owned farms and vineyards are very common.

O Porriño is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Vigo. As an industrial town in the Vigo metropolitan area, it has an important economic significance. One of its main industries is granite production; the variety of granite produced in O Porriño is known as Rosa Porriño ("Porriño Pink"), and is exported from the Port of Vigo mainly to Italy, Japan and China. On 9 September 2016, a Portuguese train travelling from Vigo to Porto derailed near O Porriño railway station, killing the driver and at least three other people on board.

The Torre of Lapela (Portuguese: Torre de Lapela) is a ruined medieval castle located next to the Minho River in the town of Lapela, in Monção municipality, Viana do Castelo District, Portugal.

On 9 September 2016, a passenger train travelling from Vigo, Spain to Oporto, Portugal derailed at O Porriño, Galicia, Spain. Four people were killed and 49 were injured, 7 severely injured.

The Brejoeira Palace (Portuguese: Palácio da Brejoeira) is a palace in Monção, Portugal. The Palace was constructed in the 18th century according to a project from the architect Carlos Amarante. It has been classified by IPPAR since 1910. The palace opened for the public in 2010.
