Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art (Finnish: Wäinö Aaltosen museo, Swedish: Wäinö Aaltonens museum) or WAM for short, is an art museum in central Turku, Finland dedicated especially to modern art. The museum is located on the east bank of the Aura River. The permanent exhibition is based on the art collection of the City of Turku, which includes a large collection of works by Finnish artist and sculptor Wäinö Aaltonen. Temporary exhibitions focus on Finnish and international modern art.

Martinsilta (St. Martin's Bridge) (Swedish: Martinsbron) is a beam bridge spanning the Aurajoki river in Turku, Finland. It was built in 1940, although a proposed bridge appeared on its present location already in the city plan that Carl Ludvig Engel created after the Great Fire of Turku of 1827. The bridge is 104.5 metres (343 ft) in length. The bridge is a one-way bridge crossing from Linnankatu to Itäinen Rantakatu in a south-southeast direction. The nearby Myllysilta bridge carries one-way traffic in the opposite direction. In 2010, due to the collapse of the Myllysilta bridge, Martinsilta was temporarily turned into a two-way bridge until Myllysilta was rebuilt and opened to traffic.

1991 World Masters Athletics Championships is the ninth in a series of World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships (called World Veterans Championships at the time) that took place in Turku, Finland from 18 to 28 July 1991.The main venue was Paavo Nurmi Stadium. : 18 : 191  Satellite tracks were located in nearby municipalities of Raisio and Kaarina. : 19 : 16 This edition of masters athletics Championships had a minimum age limit of 35 years for women and 40 years for men. : 1 The governing body of this series is World Association of Veteran Athletes (WAVA). WAVA was formed during meeting at the inaugural edition of this series at Toronto in 1975, then officially founded during the second edition in 1977, then renamed as World Masters Athletics (WMA) at the Brisbane Championships in 2001. : 56 This Championships was organized by WAVA in coordination with a Local Organising Committee (LOC) headed by Sten-Olof Hansen. : 18 In addition to a full range of track and field events, non-stadia events included 10K Cross Country, 10K Race Walk (women), 20K Race Walk (men), and Marathon.

Paavo Nurmi Stadium (Finnish: Paavo Nurmen stadion, Swedish: Paavo Nurmis stadion) is a multi-use stadium in Turku, Finland. It is currently used mostly for football matches and athletics meets. It holds 13,000 people and is named after the Turku-born runner Paavo Nurmi. Twenty athletics world records have been set at the stadium. John Landy broke the world records for the 1,500 m and the mile (1954), Nurmi for the 3,000 m (1922), Emil Zátopek (1950) and Ron Clarke (1965) for the 10,000 m, Viljo Heino for the one-hour run (1945) and the 20 km (1949), Matti Järvinen for the javelin throw (1932) and Charles Hoff for the pole vault (1925).Paavo Nurmi Games, a track and field meet, is held at the stadium annually.

The VII District is one of the central districts of Turku, Finland. It is located on the west side of the river Aura, between Aurakatu and Puistokatu. Like the neighbouring VI District, it forms part of the city's central business district. The two districts combined host a large proportion of the city's business life, particularly around the Market Square (Kauppatori, part of the VI District). Turku City Hall is located in the VII District, as well as the Turku Central Railway Station. The district has a population of 8,749 (as of 2004), making it the third largest district in Turku. Its annual population growth rate is 0.46%. 5.06% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 22.53% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 89.04% Finnish, 8.66% Swedish, and 2.30% other.

The IV District, also known as Martti (Finnish; Martins in Swedish), is one of the central districts of Turku, Finland. It is located on the east side of the river Aura, between Tervahovinkatu in the west and Betaniankatu and Martinkatu in the east. The district is one of the smallest in Turku, and is centred on the Martinkirkko church, named after the reformer Martin Luther (Martti Luther in Finnish). Martti is also one of the most expensive areas to live in Turku. The district is rather densely populated, and has a population of 4,357 (as of 2004) and an annual population growth rate of -0.46%. 7.16% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 18.80% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 90.22% Finnish, 8.40% Swedish, and 1.38% other.

Martin's Church (Finnish: Martinkirkko, Swedish: Martinskyrkan) in Turku, Finland is the main church of Martin's parish, founded in 1921. The church was consecrated on the 450th anniversary of the birth of Martin Luther, on November 12, 1933. The designers of the church were the architects Totti Sora and Gunnar Wahlroos. The church represents architectural functionalism. Martin's church is a long church with three aisles with very narrow side aisles. The church has a functional and singular practicality of its own. The barrel-vaulting of the roof is one of the most outstanding features of the church. The altar, the pulpit, and the roof are notable features of architect Sora's work. On the top of the pulpit, the architect has placed a crown. The same theme is featured as a decoration to the hymn list table. The architects have clearly thought of the church as a royal court chamber and for this reason the basic construction is reminiscent of a basilica. The artist Aarre Aaltonen has made five decorative sculptures for the pulpit.

St. Bridget and Blessed Hemming Church (Finnish: Pyhän Birgitan ja Autuaan Hemmingin kirkko, Swedish: Sankta Birgittas och salige Hemmings kyrka) is a parish of the Roman Catholic Church in Turku, Finland. The church building, completed in 1966, is located in the center of Turku in Ursininkatu. It was consecrated in honor of St. Bridget of Sweden and bishop Hemming of Turku. It is part of a group of Catholic parish buildings that were completed after 1966, including an administrative office and a residence. The Catholic history of Turku goes back over 80 years, with 1,194 members as of 2005, most of whom have foreign backgrounds (notably immigrants from Southeast Asia and Poland). The parish priest Father Peter Gebara SCJ (Brotherhood of the Sacred Heart of Jesus or Jeesuksen Pyhän Sydämen Veljeskunta), a native of Poland. The Church of Turku also has links to the Order of St. Brigid (birgittalaisluostari), a Catholic convent.

The Katarina is a restaurant ship, and former steam ship, that was built in 1869 at Stockholm in Sweden. Sailing under her original name of Fredriksborg on the route through the Stockholm archipelago from Stockholm to Vaxholm, she was the Waxholmsbolaget's first propeller-driven steam ship. After being sold by the Waxholmsbolaget in 1882, she operated in various roles under the names Höganäs, Mariehamn, Stella, Wirumaa, Kullervo and André before acquiring her current name in 1985. Today she is a floating restaurant moored in the Aura river in Turku, Finland.

Betel Church (Finnish: Turun Adventtiseurakunta Betel-kirkko, Swedish: Betel-kyrkan) is located in the VII District of Turku, Finland. It is a church of the Turku adventism parish. The jugend-style church was completed in 1906 under the plans of Frithiof Strandell. It was later renovated under the plans of Erik Bryggman in 1927 and has a functional bell tower, among others. The church is actually quite hidden from pedestrians. In recent years, there have been suggestions to open up a walkway from Yliopistonkatu to Puutarhakatu for pedestrians and allow them to better admire the church. The Betel Church is listed amongst the most noted buildings of the culture environment in Finland. In addition to regular services, the church has the vegetarian restaurant KASVIS-ravintola, serving a lunch buffet. The restaurant uses organic and locally grown produce and also has vegan options.

Panimoravintola Koulu is a Finnish brewery restaurant in the city of Turku. Koulu (Finnish for "school") is the largest brewery restaurant in Finland and it is situated in a former Neo-Renaissance style school building from 1889 by architects L. I. Lindqvist and Bruno Granholm. The school to first occupy the building was "Svenska Fruntimmerskolan i Åbo", which was later renamed as the "Svenska flickskolan i Åbo" in 1916, again in 1955 when it became "Åbo svenska flicklyseum", until finally in 1966 the name was changed to "Cygnaeus skola". On 4 February 1940, during the Winter War, the school was hit by a Soviet incendiary bomb, which set fire to the roof and destroyed the assembly hall (now known as the Bellman assembly hall). One of the high points in the history of Koulu was the visit of Commander-in-Chief, Baron Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim on 14 February 1941. The school was shut down in 1970. The restaurant was opened in 1998.The restaurant's Bellman assembly hall and cabinets Cygnaeus and Wecksell on the second floor seat altogether 700 people at most and they can be reserved for conferences and private parties. Koulu's Winehouse, History class, Beerhouse, the summer kiosk outside and the brewery are on the first floor.The brewery has four regularly produced beers and one cider. On top of which, the brewery also produces several (at least 12) special or seasonal brews throughout the year. All the beers are made under the regulations of the German purity law, the Reinheitsgebot from 1516. It allows only the use of water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

Hansa (Finnish: Hansakortteli, Swedish: Hansakvarteret) is a shopping centre in the city centre of Turku, in Finland. It is located in the city's VII District, next to the main Market Square. The shopping centre hosts a total of 156 businesses, including nineteen cafés and restaurants. It also contains a theatre. The Turku branch of the Stockmann department store is located in Hansa. Hansa is usually considered as the most important shopping centre in Turku region, though it has lost some of its popularity to the out-of-town Mylly shopping centre in Raisio. The annual sales of Hansa in 2005 totalled over 170 million euros, making it the largest Finnish shopping centre outside the Greater Helsinki area. By number of visitors (approximately 13.5 million) Hansa is the third largest shopping centre in Finland.
