Tuggeranong United FC are a soccer club based in the southern Canberra region of Tuggeranong, ACT, Australia. The club competes in the highest level of football in the ACT, NPL Capital Football. Tuggeranong United is one of the largest football clubs in Canberra with an extensive elite NPL pathway from U13s to first team for both men and women. The club also boasts many recreational senior teams in the ACT State League structure, three Masters teams and a whole junior club setup.

Mount Taylor is a prominent hill with an elevation of 856 metres (2,808 ft) AHD  that is located between the Woden Valley, Weston Creek district and Tuggeranong Valley, in Canberra, within the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Mount Taylor is part of the Canberra Nature Park and is surrounded by the suburbs of Kambah, Fisher, Waramanga, Chifley, Pearce, and Torrens. There are walking tracks to the peak. While there is no public road access to the peak there is a fire trail up the mountain from the end of Waldock St, Chifley where there is also a car park and picnic tables. The fire trail (also known as the management trail) is normally closed to public vehicular access by locked gates, but the gates contain access points for walkers. The trail is especially popular with families and older walkers as it provides the easiest and most leisurely access to the peak. Originally a dirt road, it was partially sealed in 2009 on the steeper grades to make it safer for walkers and mountain bike riders.

Lake Tuggeranong, an artificial lake sourced by the confluence of Tuggeranong Creek and stormwater discharge from urban and rural areas, is located in the Tuggeranong district of Canberra, within the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. The lake is situated adjacent to the Tuggeranong Town Centre, and is bounded by the suburbs of Bonython in the south-east and Kambah in the north-west.

Fisher is a suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia located in the district of Weston Creek. Fisher was named after Andrew Fisher (1862–1928), coal miner, founding member of the federal parliamentary Labor Party and Prime Minister of Australia for three terms between 1908 and 1915 (ACTLIC, 2004). Oxley (postcode 2903) is the smallest suburb in Canberra. It is located in the district of Tuggeranong. The suburb is named after the explorer John Joseph William Molesworth Oxley (1783 to 1828), who explored parts of New South Wales. It was gazetted on 22 March 1982 and first settled in 1985. Streets are named after social reformers and the suburb has an area of 1.08 km2. It is next to the suburbs of Greenway, Wanniassa and Monash and is bounded by Drakeford Drive, Taverner Street and Erindale Drive.

Lake Tuggeranong College is an Australian Capital Territory public school catering to Year 11 and 12 students (aged between 16 and 20 years). It is located in the Tuggeranong, Canberra, close to Tuggeranong Town Centre and on the shores of Lake Tuggeranong in Greenway. The principal is David Briggs.

Tuggeranong Interchange is located in Tuggeranong Town Centre, Canberra. All services are operated by ACTION. It consists of 7 platforms and provides connections between bus routes servicing the District of Tuggeranong. The bus station is located next to South.Point Tuggeranong on a section of Pitman St between Holwell and Anketell Streets which is closed to regular vehicular traffic.

The Canberra Roller Derby League (CRDL) is a Canberra-based roller derby league. It was created in 2008, with the first bouts occurring in 2009. Canberra currently holds the Division 1 trophy for The Great Southern Slam. Canberra is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).The league features a four-team home league, plus the all-star Vice City Rollers, which represents the league in interleague play. At home bouts, the league has had attendances as high as 5,000, and has its own stable of officials who officiate the league and interstate bouts. The league's bouts are aired on ChannelVision, and they have had media coverage from 666 ABC Canberra.

The Southern Cross Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Tuggeranong, Canberra, primarily used for basketball. The venue has hosted the Canberra Roller Derby League. It is also the alternate venue for the University of Canberra Capitals of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL).

Torrens (postcode 2607) is a suburb in the Woden Valley district of Canberra, Australia. It is named after Sir Robert Torrens, a former Premier of South Australia and instigator of the Torrens title system of land registration. The suburb was gazetted on 12 May 1966.

South.Point Tuggeranong (previously Tuggeranong Hyperdome) is a two-storey regional shopping centre located in Greenway, Australian Capital Territory, servicing the district of Tuggeranong.

Tuggeranong Town Centre is the town centre of the district of Tuggeranong in the Australian Capital Territory. It is located on the south-western side of Lake Tuggeranong and composed of a large two-storey mall called South.Point Tuggeranong, as well as smaller shopping complexes, the Homeworld, and Tuggeranong Shopping Square, and many other buildings and shops. It is also the location of the Tuggeranong Interchange, a youth centre, a bowling alley, Tuggeranong Skate Park, the Tuggeranong Arts Centre and Lake Tuggeranong College.
