Lake Tuggeranong College is an Australian Capital Territory public school catering to Year 11 and 12 students (aged between 16 and 20 years). The Canberra Roller Derby League (CRDL) is a Canberra-based roller derby league. It was created in 2008, with the first bouts occurring in 2009. Canberra currently holds the Division 1 trophy for The Great Southern Slam. Canberra is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).The league features a four-team home league, plus the all-star Vice City Rollers, which represents the league in interleague play. At home bouts, the league has had attendances as high as 5,000, and has its own stable of officials who officiate the league and interstate bouts. The league's bouts are aired on ChannelVision, and they have had media coverage from 666 ABC Canberra.

The Southern Cross Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Tuggeranong, Canberra, primarily used for basketball. The venue has hosted the Canberra Roller Derby League. It is also the alternate venue for the University of Canberra Capitals of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL).

Tuggeranong Town Centre is the town centre of the district of Tuggeranong in the Australian Capital Territory. It is located on the south-western side of Lake Tuggeranong and composed of a large two-storey mall called South.Point Tuggeranong, as well as smaller shopping complexes, the Homeworld, and Tuggeranong Shopping Square, and many other buildings and shops. Greenway is a suburb in the Canberra, Australia district of Tuggeranong. The postcode is 2900. The suburb is named after the architect, Francis Greenway (1777–1837). It was gazetted on 17 October 1986. The streets are named after architects. It includes the Tuggeranong Town Centre, Lake Tuggeranong and small residential areas on the northwestern and northeastern shores of the lake. It is next to the suburbs of Kambah, Wanniassa, Oxley, Monash and Bonython. It is bounded by Athllon Drive and Drakeford Drive. Behind the suburb is the Urambi Hills Nature Reserve and the Murrumbidgee River.

Tuggeranong United FC are a soccer club based in the southern Canberra region of Tuggeranong, ACT, Australia. The club competes in the highest level of football in the ACT, NPL Capital Football. Tuggeranong United is one of the largest football clubs in Canberra with an extensive elite NPL pathway from U13s to first team for both men and women. The club also boasts many recreational senior teams in the ACT State League structure, three Masters teams and a whole junior club setup.

Stranger Pond, a series of two artificial lakes sourced from stormwater discharge from urban and rural areas, are located in the Tuggeranong district of Canberra, within the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. One is called 'Upper Stranger Pond' and is located in the suburb of Isabella Plains. The other is called 'Lower Stranger Pond' and is located in the suburb of Bonython. Lower Stranger Pond is widely known simply as 'Stranger Pond'. Google Maps only labels one of the two ponds – that being the one in Bonython and calls it 'Stranger Pond.'

Pine Island Reserve, a reserve containing a small plantation of pine trees, is located on the Murrumbidgee River where the river flows through the Tuggeranong district of Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. The closest suburb to the reserve and river island is Greenway.Pine Island is usually accessible by land and only becomes an island in time of peak flows in the Murrumbidgee River. The island is named for the Callitris endlicheri, or black cypress pines, that grow locally. This region was first explored by Europeans in 1820 by Charles Throsby. Throsby was looking for a suitable water source. He came across the Murrumbidgee River near Pine Island in April 1821.Facilities at the reserve include an area for picnicking, barbecues, potable water, and toilets. On the river, recreational pursuits during the warmer months include swimming, fishing, and kayaking. The area is also known for birdwatching. There is a bushwalking path called the Murrumbidgee Discovery Trail that runs south to Point Hut crossing and north to Kambah Pools through the Bullen Range Nature Reserve. Dogs are not permitted in the reserve.

Tuggeranong () is a district in the Australian Capital Territory in Australia. The district is subdivided into divisions (suburbs), sections and blocks and is the southernmost district of the Australian Capital Territory. The district comprises nineteen suburbs and occupies 117 square kilometres (45 sq mi) to the east of the Murrumbidgee River. The name Tuggeranong is derived from a Ngunnawal expression meaning "cold place". From the earliest colonial times, the plain extending south into the centre of the present-day territory was referred to as Tuggeranong. At the 2021 census, the population of the district was 89,461.
