Norwood Park is a 13.3 hectare (33 acres) park located in West Norwood. The park is bordered by Elder Road, Central Hill and Salter's Hill in South East London in the London Borough of Lambeth. The park is jointly managed by Lambeth Council and the community group Friends of Norwood Park. The park is not fenced and is fully accessible to the public at all times.

West Norwood is a largely residential area of south London within the London Borough of Lambeth, located 5.4 miles (8.7 km) south south-east of Charing Cross. The centre of West Norwood sits in a bowl surrounded by hillsides on its east, west and south sides. From many parts of the area, distant views can be seen, of places such as the City of London, Canary Wharf and Crystal Palace. In March 2016 planning permission was granted to build a new 4 screen Picturehouse Cinema and cafe in Nettlefold Hall, which had previously closed in 2011. The new complex opened in November 2018 and additionally re-homes the council library service back to Nettlefold Hall. The West Norwood Feast, a monthly community market running across several areas of West Norwood, has been active since 2011. Featuring music, stalls and community events, the feast has been hugely popular. West Norwood Health and Leisure Centre was opened in 2014. This is located on Devane Way, and offers leisure facilities including a full sized swimming pool, gym, dance studio, community space as well as health resources, both GP and dental. West Norwood includes some or all of three Wards of the London Borough of Lambeth - Gipsy Hill, Knights Hill and Thurlow Park. Each of these wards is represented on Lambeth Council by three councillors.West Norwood has also been home to Greek actress Joanna Byrne.

Elm Wood School is a primary school based at the southern end of the inner London Borough of Lambeth. The school has gone through a number of changes since its establishment at the beginning of the twentieth century reflecting the changing policies of local and national governing authorities as well as the changing nature of the community it serves.

The Cedars School is an 11–18 boys, Roman Catholic, independent school and sixth form. It is located in the Upper Norwood area of the London Borough of Croydon in England. The current site is the former location of Virgo Fidelis Convent Senior School, a Roman Catholic voluntary aided secondary school for girls. The school site is also shared with The Laurels School for girls. Up until September 2021 the school was located in the Lloyd Park area of Croydon. It was established in September 2013 by the PACT Educational Trust, in a Grade II listed building dating back to the 18th century. It is the first senior school in the country to be based on the ethos of Opus Dei and is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark.

Norwood New Town is a largely residential, former working-class enclave within the larger district of Upper Norwood in Southeast London. It is within the London Borough of Croydon. In common with the neighbouring districts of West Norwood, South Norwood and Upper Norwood, it is named after the contraction of the Great North Wood, which once occupied this area.

Gipsy Hill railway station is in the London Borough of Lambeth in south London. It is situated on the Crystal Palace line, 7 miles 77 chains (12.8 km) measured from London Victoria. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Southern, and it is in Travelcard Zone 3. The station is located at grid reference TQ333712. Ticket barriers were installed in February 2009.

Gipsy Hill in south London is a hilly neighbourhood spanning the southern parts of the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark characterised for its great views of the City of London and Dulwich. Historically, north of its traditional Westow-Central Hill southern limit, it was split between the southern projections of the West Norwood daughter parish of Lambeth and the St Giles church daughter parish of Camberwell in Surrey until urban reforms of 1889 creating the County of London. It takes in, due to a diagonal, slightly weaving border, somewhat less of the London Borough of Southwark and has a ridge-top border along the retail/services/leisure street Westow Hill and residential street Central Hill with Upper Norwood in the London Borough of Croydon.

Convent Wood is a small area of ancient woodland in the London Borough of Croydon. The wood is in the freehold of the Sisters of Our Lady of Fidelity some of the grounds are leased to The Ceadars School]] and The Laurels School. The woods are not accessible to the public except by appointment with the Sisters weekends onlyThe New School use part of the woods as a classroom « Forest School » in the week. The wood was a part of the Great North Wood and is now managed by the London Wildlife Trust as a part of the Great North Wood Project. The wood is home to a range of British wildlife species including English oak, European hornbeam, great spotted woodpecker, European green woodpecker and European holly.

Pear Tree House was the former Civil Defence control centre for South-East London. It is a block of council flats in the Central Hill Estate of Upper Norwood with eight two-bedroom flats and the control centre in the basement.

Upper Norwood is an area of south London, England, within the London Boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth and Southwark. It is north of Croydon and the eastern part of it is better known as the Crystal Palace area. Upper Norwood is situated along the London clay ridge known as Beulah Hill. Most housing dates from the 19th and 20th centuries, with large detached properties along the ridge and smaller, semi-detached and terraced dwellings on the slopes. There are some more modern areas of social housing that date from the 1970s. The hill offers panoramic views northward to central London and southward to central Croydon and the North Downs.

The Norwood School is a co-educational community school at the south end of the London Borough of Lambeth, for girls and boys aged 11–18. The school is a specialist Performing and Visual Arts College. From September 2007, the school admitted boys for the first time as it changed its status from a single sex girls' school to a co-educational community school. Its pupils travel from across the local education authority mainly from Brixton, Streatham and Vauxhall and a small proportion from neighbouring boroughs.

West Norwood Cemetery is a 40-acre (16 ha) rural cemetery in West Norwood in London, England. It was also known as the South Metropolitan Cemetery. One of the first private landscaped cemeteries in London, it is one of the "Magnificent Seven" cemeteries of London, and is a site of major historical, architectural and ecological interest. Its grounds are a mixture of historic monumental cemetery and modern lawn cemetery, but it also has catacombs, cremation plots and a columbarium for cinerary ashes. The cemetery's crematorium still operates, and cremation plots are still available, but all the conventional burial plots have been allocated and hence it is closed to new burials pending further agreement under current burial legislation.
