Elm Wood Primary School

Gipsy Hill ward is an administrative division of the London Borough of Lambeth, England. The ward contains much of West Norwood, as well as Norwood Park and West Norwood Cemetery; it also contains Gipsy Hill railway station. The ward is located in the Dulwich and West Norwood Parliamentary constituency. Charlie Elphicke, former Member of Parliament for Dover and Deal was the ward councillor here from 1994 to 1998.

West Norwood is a largely residential area of south London within the London Borough of Lambeth, located 5.4 miles (8.7 km) south south-east of Charing Cross. The centre of West Norwood sits in a bowl surrounded by hillsides on its east, west and south sides. From many parts of the area, distant views can be seen, of places such as the City of London, Canary Wharf and Crystal Palace. In March 2016 planning permission was granted to build a new 4 screen Picturehouse Cinema and cafe in Nettlefold Hall, which had previously closed in 2011. The new complex opened in November 2018 and additionally re-homes the council library service back to Nettlefold Hall. The West Norwood Feast, a monthly community market running across several areas of West Norwood, has been active since 2011. Featuring music, stalls and community events, the feast has been hugely popular. West Norwood Health and Leisure Centre was opened in 2014. This is located on Devane Way, and offers leisure facilities including a full sized swimming pool, gym, dance studio, community space as well as health resources, both GP and dental. West Norwood includes some or all of three Wards of the London Borough of Lambeth - Gipsy Hill, Knights Hill and Thurlow Park. Each of these wards is represented on Lambeth Council by three councillors.West Norwood has also been home to Greek actress Joanna Byrne.

West Norwood Cemetery is a 40-acre (16 ha) rural cemetery in West Norwood in London, England. It was also known as the South Metropolitan Cemetery. One of the first private landscaped cemeteries in London, it is one of the "Magnificent Seven" cemeteries of London, and is a site of major historical, architectural and ecological interest. Its grounds are a mixture of historic monumental cemetery and modern lawn cemetery, but it also has catacombs, cremation plots and a columbarium for cinerary ashes. The cemetery's crematorium still operates, and cremation plots are still available, but all the conventional burial plots have been allocated and hence it is closed to new burials pending further agreement under current burial legislation.

Norwood Park is a 13.3 hectare (33 acres) park located in West Norwood. The park is bordered by Elder Road, Central Hill and Salter's Hill in South East London in the London Borough of Lambeth. The park is jointly managed by Lambeth Council and the community group Friends of Norwood Park. The park is not fenced and is fully accessible to the public at all times.

Dulwich Prep London (DPL), formerly known as Dulwich College Preparatory School, is an independent preparatory school in Dulwich, south London, England for boys aged 3–13 years. The current Head Master is Louise Davidson. In 1938 headmaster John Leakey established an evacuation camp in the orchard on his father-in-law's land at Coursehorn, near Cranbrook, Kent, where the affiliated Dulwich Prep Cranbrook still is today.The school changed its name in September 2011 to Dulwich Prep London, having been previously called Dulwich College Preparatory School. Despite their close proximity and relationship, the school has no official link with Dulwich College, which has its own junior school for students between ages 7 and 13.

Kingsdale Foundation School (KFS) is a British mixed secondary school with academy status in West Dulwich, London, with an age range of 11–19 (Year 7 to sixth form). Admissions to the school are coordinated by the Southwark London Borough Council as part of the Pan London Admissions Arrangements. However, many students live in surrounding boroughs, such as Lambeth, Lewisham and Croydon. The school was built by the London County Council and opened in 1958. It was originally built to accommodate close to 2,000 pupils. From the 1970s it developed a reputation for poor performance and examination results and in 1998 it was put under special measures.In an attempt to bring the school up to date, a new management team was put in place and the school formed a partnership with School Works, an initiative that uses better management and design to improve the attitude and results of failing schools. A£30 million package resulted in a state-of-the-art building utilising the existing structures and an improved environment for the pupils In August 2013, the school was identified as one of the most popular state secondary schools in the country.The school has designated specialisms in Mathematics, Physical Education and the Performing & Expressive Arts and offers scholarships for students who demonstrate an aptitude in these areas. Scholarships for Music and Physical Education are assessed on entry to Year 7, while Art and Mathematics scholarships are assessed once a student has secured a place at the school. Scholarships are worth approximately £1,000 per annum in additional support and resources.In July 2017, the school was judged by Ofsted, to be Outstanding in all categories of inspection, including in the Sixth Form.

West Dulwich ( DUL-itch) is a district in South London, which straddles the London Borough of Lambeth and the London Borough of Southwark. Croxted Road and South Croxted Road mark the boundary between Southwark to the east and Lambeth to the west. The suburb of West Dulwich dates back to the 17th century when the often flooded land known as Dulwich Common was acquired and drained by Edward Alleyn's estate. West Dulwich has two main parades of shops, the main one being on the Park Hall road junction, where Croxted Road becomes South Croxted Road and the other on Rosendale Road.

West Dulwich railway station is on the Chatham Main Line in England, serving the West Dulwich area in the London Borough of Southwark, south London. It is located on opposite side of the south circular road from Belair Park, 5 miles 2 chains (8.1 km) down the line from London Victoria and between Herne Hill and Sydenham Hill. The station and all services are operated by Southeastern.

Oakfield Preparatory School is an independent coeducational preparatory school in West Dulwich, Lambeth.Oakfield is a member of the Independent Schools Association. With over 350 boys and girls aged between 2 and 11, it is housed in historic Georgian buildings each side of the South Circular at the junction with Croxted Road. For many years a senior school was run from the building on the south side of the road under the name of John Wycliffe Prep School, for 11-16 year olds.

The Cedars School is an 11–18 boys, Roman Catholic, independent school and sixth form. It is located in the Upper Norwood area of the London Borough of Croydon in England. The current site is the former location of Virgo Fidelis Convent Senior School, a Roman Catholic voluntary aided secondary school for girls. The school site is also shared with The Laurels School for girls. Up until September 2021 the school was located in the Lloyd Park area of Croydon. It was established in September 2013 by the PACT Educational Trust, in a Grade II listed building dating back to the 18th century. It is the first senior school in the country to be based on the ethos of Opus Dei and is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark.

Kingswood House, formerly known as King's Coppice, is a Victorian mansion in South Dulwich, at the southerly tip of the London Borough of Southwark, England. It is a Grade II listed building.In 1811 William Vizard, the solicitor to Queen Caroline in her divorce from George IV, was granted a 63-year lease for Kingswood Lodge. When Vizard returned to his native Gloucestershire in 1831, others were granted the property leases. From 1891 the house was owned by John Lawson Johnston (inventor of Bovril) who extended the house and remodelled the facade including adding battlements. Johnston acquired the nickname Mr Bovril and because of its castellated features Kingswood became known locally as Bovril Castle. In the First World War Kingswood was used as a convalescence home for wounded Canadian soldiers. At this time it came to the notice of Lady Vestey who was doing social work in connection with the soldiers housed there. In 1919 her husband Sir William Vestey was granted an 80-year lease and in 1921 when he was raised to the peerage he became Baron Vestey of Kingswood in the County of Surrey. Kingswood was the Vesteys' main home until William's death. In 1956 London County Council acquired the site by compulsory purchase. Lord Vestey's estate had by now been developed into a large residential area with the grounds occupied by houses, flats and shops. Ownership of the house itself was vested in the Metropolitan Borough of Camberwell and it was opened as a community centre and library. In 1965 it became the property of the London Borough of Southwark. It underwent substantial refurbishment in the 1980s and 1990s, and is still owned by the council and used for conferences, meetings, and civil marriages. In the grounds in front of Kingswood House there are still some remains of the Pulham features. In 2011 a blue plaque was erected on the side of the building to commemorate John Lawson Johnston and his residence there. The house is located just a few minutes walk from Sydenham Hill railway station.

Gipsy Hill railway station is in the London Borough of Lambeth in south London. It is situated on the Crystal Palace line, 7 miles 77 chains (12.8 km) measured from London Victoria. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Southern, and it is in Travelcard Zone 3. The station is located at grid reference TQ333712. Ticket barriers were installed in February 2009.
