Kraška Vas

Stankovo (pronounced [stanˈkɔːʋo] or [stanˈkoːʋo]) is a village in the hills south of Velike Malence in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.The local church is dedicated to Saint Peter and belongs to the Parish of Čatež ob Savi. It dates to the 17th century with a mid-19th-century belfry.

Izvir (pronounced [iˈzʋiːɾ]) is a small settlement in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia. It lies in the Gorjanci Hills close to the border with Croatia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola. It is now included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region. The name Izvir means 'spring' or 'source of water' in Slovene. Chance finds of Roman clay piping and archaeological excavations in the 1930s revealed a now-reconstructed water cistern at the source of a stream and a Roman aqueduct supplying water to the nearby settlement of Neviodunum.

It is now included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.The remoteness of the settlement has contributed to the fact that it has preserved its character, with typical mid-19th-century rural architecture including rectangular stone and wooden houses as well as original outbuildings such as barns, granaries, and hayracks. As such, the entire village has been declared a monument of cultural heritage by the Slovenian Ministry of Culture.

It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.The foundations of a Roman building have been found in the area. A Roman aqueduct supplying water to the nearby settlement of Neviodunum ran through the area and older sources also state the discovery of Roman burials in the vicinity.

Čedem (pronounced [ˈtʃeːdəm], in older sources also Čedno) is a small settlement in the eastern Gorjanci Hills in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia, right on the border with Croatia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola. During the Second World War it was one of five Slovene settlements annexed by the Independent State of Croatia. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region. The village is protected as a national heritage monument by the Slovenian Ministry of Culture. Single-storey rectangular wooden houses with a variety of outbuildings such as sties, hayracks, and granaries all date to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The exteriors of the houses are painted blue, ochre, or brown.

Mrzlava Vas (pronounced [məɾˈzlaːʋa ˈʋaːs]; Slovene: Mrzlava vas) is a village in the hills above the right bank of the Krka River, in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola. It is now included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.The village church, built on an isolated location south of the main settlement, is dedicated to the Holy Spirit and belongs to the Parish of Čatež ob Savi. It was originally a medieval building, but was extensively rebuilt in 1864 when the belfry was also added.Between 1920 and 1960 and in 1986 a number urn burials dating to the 1st and 2nd centuries were found and excavated in the area. Two Roman coins dating from the rule of Galba and Trajan were also found.
