Brompton Road

The Storran Gallery was a fashionable avant-garde art gallery in London in the 1930s. In 1937 it was run by the prominent art critic Eardley Knollys (a friend of Picasso) with Ala Story and the artist Frank Coombs (1906-1941). The gallery was at 106 Brompton Road London SW3 (just opposite Harrods) but moved to Fitzroy Street and then 316 Euston Road. An unusual exhibition at the gallery in 1938 was ‘‘The Jones Exhibition’’. The artists Graham Bell and Tom Harrisson curated an exhibition of London scenes by British painters. As a way of making it "democratic", they typed letters to invite over 800 London-based families with the widely held name Jones.Pictures exhibited at the Storran Gallery in the late 1930s included those by Picasso, Modigliani, Dufy, Anthony Devas, Claude Rogers, Victor Pasmore, Rupert Shephard, Graham Bell, Clare Crossley, William Coldstream, Ivon Hitchens, Jean Varda,Derek Sayer, Lynton Lamb, Joan Souter-Robinson, Ivy Langton, and Derek Latymer-Sayer. A number of these artists were members of the Euston Road School.

Montpelier Square is a residential garden square in Knightsbridge, London, administratively in the City of Westminster. The homes were built in the 19th century and are of brick construction partly covered by stucco. All of the buildings facing inwards are listed grade II (the mainstream, initial category) in the heritage listing scheme used in England.

It was once better known for its brothels and lodging houses, but since the Edwardian era, antique shops and high end fashion boutiques have dominated the street.Beauchamp Place was also a 16th-century mansion of the Seymour family, whose titles included Viscount Beauchamp. It belonged to Edward Seymour, Viscount Beauchamp, who became the Earl of Hertford and was the son of a Lord Protector of England.

The Tea Clipper is a Grade II listed public house at 19 Montpelier Street, Knightsbridge, London, SW7.It was formerly called The Talbot and was built in the early/mid-19th century.The pub closed in 2014. In May 2012 the owner, Aldenberg Investments Ltd, had planning permission to turn it into a house refused by the City of Westminster.

Trevor Square is an elongated garden square in Knightsbridge, London. It was designed in the 1810s chiefly by architect William Fuller Pocock, and the mid-rise, basemented houses fronting its two long sides, with slate mansard roofs are listed in the British protective and recognising scheme, and were built in the 1820s. The main stonemason employed was Lancelot Edward Wood after whom is named neighbouring street Lancelot Place (originally Petwin Place).

Harrods Limited is a department store located on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, London, England. It is currently owned by the state of Qatar via its sovereign wealth fund, the Qatar Investment Authority. The Harrods brand also applies to other enterprises undertaken by the Harrods group of companies, including Harrods Estates, Harrods Aviation and Air Harrods. The store occupies a 5-acre (2 ha) site and has 330 departments covering 1.1 million sq ft (100,000 m2) of retail space. It is one of the largest and most famous department stores in the world.The Harrods motto is Omnia Omnibus Ubique, which is Latin for "all things for all people, everywhere". Several of its departments, including the Seasonal Christmas department and the Food Halls, are well known. Harrods was also a founder of the International Association of Department Stores in 1928, which is still active today, and remained a member until 1935. Franck Chitham, Harrods' president at the time, was president of the Association in 1930.

Innocent Victims is a bronze statue of Diana, Princess of Wales, and Dodi Fayed, which was on display at the Harrods department store in London, England, between 2005 and 2018. It was commissioned by Dodi's father Mohamed Al-Fayed when he owned Harrods, and designed by William Mitchell.

The 1993 Harrods bombing occurred on 28 January 1993 when a bomb exploded near the Harrods department store in London, England. At 9:14, two telephoned warnings were issued, saying that two bombs had been planted: one outside and one inside Harrods. The store was due to open at 10:00. Police cordoned off the area and began a search. However, some bystanders ignored the police cordon. At about 9:40, a package containing 1 lb (450 g) of Semtex exploded in a litter bin at the front of the store. It injured four people and damaged the shopfront. The cost of damage and lost sales was estimated at £1 million. Harrods was previously targeted in 1974 and 1983, but the 1993 bomb was much smaller than the 1983 one.

San Lorenzo (formally La Bottega Del San Lorenzo) is an upmarket restaurant located at 22 Beauchamp Place in Knightsbridge, London. It was one of the favourite London restaurants of Diana, Princess of Wales and often visited by other celebrities.

Ovington Square is a garden square in central London's Knightsbridge district. It lies between Brompton Road to the north-west (reached via Ovington Gardens) and Walton Street to the south-east.
