Brompton Road is a street located in the southern part from Knightsbridge and in the eastern part from Brompton in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and partly the City of Westminster in London.It starts from Knightsbridge Underground station and runs south-west through an extremely wealthy residential area until it reaches Egerton Gardens and the area to the east of South Kensington Underground station. It ends at what is popularly known as Brompton Cross, becoming Fulham Road, home of Chelsea Football Club. There are 5-star hotels and many top restaurants and shops along the road. One of the most famous department stores in the world, Harrods, is located near the eastern end. Another major landmark along the road is the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, commonly known as the Brompton Oratory. The Embassy of Uruguay is located at no. 150.Brompton Road Underground station was halfway between Knightsbridge and South Kensington stations on the Piccadilly line, just east of the Brompton Oratory. It closed on 30 July 1934 due to a lack of traffic and following the opening of new entrances at Knightsbridge station. Brompton Road is sometimes confused with Old Brompton Road which lies further to the west in South Kensington. In the 1980s, a bomb unexpectedly went off just outside of Harrod's. A police man and some shoppers were killed. The IRA claimed responsibility, and that the bombing was unintended.

It was designed in the 1810s chiefly by architect William Fuller Pocock, and the mid-rise, basemented houses fronting its two long sides, with slate mansard roofs are listed in the British protective and recognising scheme, and were built in the 1820s. The main stonemason employed was Lancelot Edward Wood after whom is named neighbouring street Lancelot Place (originally Petwin Place).

It is currently owned by the state of Qatar via its sovereign wealth fund, the Qatar Investment Authority. The Harrods brand also applies to other enterprises undertaken by the Harrods group of companies, including Harrods Estates, Harrods Aviation and Air Harrods. The store occupies a 5-acre (2 ha) site and has 330 departments covering 1.1 million sq ft (100,000 m2) of retail space. It is one of the largest and most famous department stores in the world.The Harrods motto is Omnia Omnibus Ubique, which is Latin for "all things for all people, everywhere". Several of its departments, including the Seasonal Christmas department and the Food Halls, are well known. Harrods was also a founder of the International Association of Department Stores in 1928, which is still active today, and remained a member until 1935. Franck Chitham, Harrods' president at the time, was president of the Association in 1930.

The 1993 Harrods bombing occurred on 28 January 1993 when a bomb exploded near the Harrods department store in London, England. At 9:14, two telephoned warnings were issued, saying that two bombs had been planted: one outside and one inside Harrods. The store was due to open at 10:00. Police cordoned off the area and began a search. However, some bystanders ignored the police cordon. At about 9:40, a package containing 1 lb (450 g) of Semtex exploded in a litter bin at the front of the store. It injured four people and damaged the shopfront. The cost of damage and lost sales was estimated at £1 million. Harrods was previously targeted in 1974 and 1983, but the 1993 bomb was much smaller than the 1983 one.

The Tea Clipper is a Grade II listed public house at 19 Montpelier Street, Knightsbridge, London, SW7.It was formerly called The Talbot and was built in the early/mid-19th century.The pub closed in 2014. In May 2012 the owner, Aldenberg Investments Ltd, had planning permission to turn it into a house refused by the City of Westminster.

It was once better known for its brothels and lodging houses, but since the Edwardian era, antique shops and high end fashion boutiques have dominated the street.Beauchamp Place was also a 16th-century mansion of the Seymour family, whose titles included Viscount Beauchamp. It belonged to Edward Seymour, Viscount Beauchamp, who became the Earl of Hertford and was the son of a Lord Protector of England.

Prince's Skating Club was an ice rink in the Knightsbridge area of London, England. It saw a number of firsts for ice hockey in Britain and Europe. The rink was opened on Montpelier Square on 7 November 1896 by the Prince's Sporting Club. It operated on a membership-only basis and was aimed at the elite of British figure skaters who wished to practise on uncrowded ice.Prince's was the second large rectangular rink in Britain after Stockport, its ice measuring 210 by 52 feet (64 by 16 metres). This made it an ideal venue for the developing sport of ice hockey. The rink closed in summer 1917. The building was later used by Daimler Hire, and ultimately demolished in the mid-1970s.
