The American Italian Cultural Center (AICC) is a nonprofit institution in New Orleans, Louisiana, whose mission is to honor and celebrate Italian American history and culture in Louisiana. Founded in 1985 by Joseph Maselli and adjacent to New Orleans's renowned Piazza d'Italia, the AICC offers Italian language courses, concerts, events, trips to Italy, and dual-citizenship applications, as well as promotes other Italian American organizations and their events. The AICC also houses an Honorary Consul of Italy. It operates under the parent organization of the American Italian Renaissance Foundation.The AICC is home to the American Italian Museum and the Louisiana American Italian Sports Hall of Fame. The museum's focus is the heritage and contributions of American Italians in the Southeast, particularly the Italians in New Orleans. Displays include photographs, articles, family histories and memorabilia. The AICC hosts an annual St. Joseph's Day celebration in October, as well as a Festa d'Italia in the Piazza. The AICC publishes the quarterly Italian American Digest; and it oversees the American Italian Research Library, located in the New Orleans suburb of Metairie.

Le Méridien New Orleans is a 23-story high-rise building in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana. The building rises 279 feet (85 m), and is currently tied with Charity Hospital as the 29th-tallest building in the city. It also stands as the 8th-tallest hotel in New Orleans. The hotel was designed with a modern architecture style by architectural firm DMJM and was opened in 1984 as the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza to accommodate crowds attending the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition. It became the Four Points by Sheraton Downtown in the late 1990s and then the W New Orleans Hotel in 2000.The hotel was significantly damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Half of the hotel's rooms had their windows blown out.In April 2013 it was sold to Chesapeake Lodging Trust for $65 million. On July 15, 2014, the hotel was given the temporary name Hotel New Orleans Downtown while it underwent a $29 million renovation. It became the Le Méridien New Orleans on December 15, 2014. In 2019, Park Hotels & Resorts, which had acquired Chesapeake Lodging Trust, sold the hotel to Stonebridge Companies and Walton Street Capital for $84 million.The building houses a 4-star Le Méridien with 423 guest rooms.

400 Poydras Tower, formerly known as the Texaco Center, located at 400 Poydras Street in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 32-story, 442 feet (135 m)-tall skyscraper. Built in 1983, this modern office tower features more than 620,000 square feet (58,000 m2) of office space with an average of 22,000 rentable square feet per floor. The building is leased by Beau Box Commercial Real Estate.

The Windsor Court Hotel is a luxury hotel in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana. The building rises 253 feet (77 m). It contains 23 floors, and was completed in 1984. In 2011, Travel + Leisure magazine ranked the Windsor Court as the 6th Best Large City Hotel in the United States and Canada. Windsor Court Hotel currently stands as the 37th-tallest building in the city, and the 10th-tallest hotel. The building is an example of modern architecture.The building houses a 4-star hotel with 324 guest rooms and features an extensive collection of European art and antiques valued at more than $8 million.The hotel was one of the least damaged buildings of New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina made impact, suffering only minimal damage and escaping floodwaters. The damage included broken windows in the upper floors and minor flooding from rain that fell inside as a result of the broken windows.

Harrah's New Orleans is a casino in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, near the foot of Canal Street a block away from the Mississippi River. It is a 115,000 sq ft (10,700 m2) casino with approximately 2,100 slot machines, over 90 table games and a poker room. The casino is owned by Vici Properties and operated by Caesars Entertainment. There are several places to eat ranging from buffet style to fine dining. Since its opening in 1999 Harrah's has been renting nearby hotel rooms to accommodate its guests; currently, the newly renovated 202-room Wyndham Riverfront Hotel is providing such accommodations. In order to avoid leasing rooms, the casino opened its own 27-story hotel tower with 450 rooms across the street from the casino on September 21, 2006, just days ahead of the New Orleans Saints return to the Louisiana Superdome. It is the only land-based private casino with table games in the state by Louisiana law (there are other casinos in the state with their gambling facilities on floating boats and horse racing racinos with slot machines). It is referred to in state statute as "the official gaming establishment".The casino shut down in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 but reopened in the midst of Mardi Gras on February 17, 2006. The location of the casino was most recently previously the site of the Rivergate Convention Center, demolished in 1995. A short tunnel built as part of the canceled Vieux Carré Riverfront Expressway is used for valet parking and for an entrance passing underneath Poydras Street.

The Trump International Hotel and Tower was a proposed residential tower located in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana. It was a project of real estate mogul Donald Trump's Trump Organization. Supposedly in the planning stages from summer 2005 on, the project was finally declared dead in July 2011 after the location land was foreclosed on and sold at auction. If constructed, the Trump Tower would have become the tallest building in the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana, at seventy stories. At a height of 716 feet (218 m) along with a 126-foot (38 m) spire, it would also be the tallest building along the Gulf Coast outside of Houston, as well as the tallest point in the state of Louisiana. (Louisiana's highest peak is Driskill Mountain, at 535 feet.) It was planned to be a multi-use building with the ground floors allocated for retail shopping, the lower floors would have been luxury condo-hotels and the upper floors will be luxury condominiums.

Banks' Arcade was a multi-use commercial structure in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. The building on the block bounded by Gravier Street, Tchoupitoulas Street, Natchez Street, and Magazine Street, in the district then known as Faubourg Sainte Marie, later known as the American sector and now called the Central Business District. The building's central axis, originally called Banks' Alley or the Arcade Passage, is now a walk street called Arcade Place within Picayune Place Historic District.

Hilton New Orleans Riverside, located at 2 Poydras Street in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 29-story, 341 feet (104 m)-tall skyscraper hotel. The hotel is the city's largest hotel, containing 1,700 rooms. The hotel is owned by Park Hotels & Resorts and is managed by Hilton Worldwide as part of the Hilton Hotels & Resorts chain. A portion of the building complex overlooks the Mississippi River front. The building is connected via an enclosed pedestrian walkway with the adjacent Outlet Collection at Riverwalk, and is located next to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The hotel opened on August 15, 1977, as the New Orleans Hilton. Musician Pete Fountain had a club where he performed regularly in the Hilton for some 20 years up to 2003. The hotel was evacuated during Hurricane Katrina. Most people were taken to Baton Rouge, where friends and family waited. Anyone who wasn't able to get picked up by friends or family were taken to other Hilton hotels in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, TX. The hotel reportedly sheltered up to 5,000 people during the hurricane.

Appeals from the Eastern District of Louisiana are taken to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit (except for patent claims and claims against the U.S. government under the Tucker Act, which are appealed to the Federal Circuit). As of March 1, 2021, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana is Duane A. Evans.

The Hale Boggs Federal Complex, also known as the Hale Boggs Federal Building-Courthouse, is a historic building in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was built in 1976. It was designed in the Modernist architectural style. It was named in honor of Democratic Congressman Hale Boggs who disappeared over Alaska in 1972.
