Throsk

The Gothenburg, or simply The Goth, is a community-run pub in the former mining village of Fallin, near Stirling, Scotland.Founded in 1910, it is one of the few remaining pubs in Scotland still run under the Gothenburg system – with at least 95% of the profits gifted to community causes. During miners' strikes the Goth hosted soup kitchens and supported miners' strike funds. It remains as a marker of the village's mining history.The Goth has close ties to the neighbouring bowls club.

The Throsk railway station was a railway station that served the village of Throsk, Stirling, Scotland from 1890 to 1966.

The Alloa Swing Bridge was a railway swing bridge across the River Forth that connected Throsk and Alloa as part of the Alloa Railway. The structure was in use from 1885 until 1968.

The River Devon (formerly Dovan, Scottish Gaelic: Duibhe) is a tributary of the River Forth in Clackmannanshire and Perth & Kinross, Scotland.

Tullibody Inch is an islet in the estuarine waters of the River Forth. It takes its name from the nearby town of Tullibody, "inch" being from the Scottish Gaelic innis meaning "island" or "meadow".The island used to be farmland but has become flooded due to mining subsidence. It is now part of the Firth of Forth SSSI, which also includes nearby Alloa Inch and the John Muir Country Park. The Scottish Wildlife Trust owns and manages the island as a nature reserve.

Cowie (Scottish Gaelic: Collaidh, meaning wooded place) is a village in the Stirling council area of Scotland. Historically part of Stirlingshire, it lies on the minor B9124 road approximately 4 miles (6 kilometres) southeast of Stirling and about 1 mile (1.5 kilometres) north of the A9 road. The United Kingdom Census 2011 recorded the population as 2,713.Excavations have identified Mesolithic and Neolithic settlement remains at Chapelfield.Cowie was formerly a pit village and stone quarrying was carried on in the surrounds. It is now the site of a factory manufacturing engineered wood products and other light industries.Recent years have seen significant new housing developments in the village for commuters.

Cambus (from Scottish Gaelic An Camas, meaning the bend in the river) is a village near Alloa, Clackmannanshire. It is located to the south of Tullibody, to the northwest of Alloa, and about 4 miles east of Stirling, across the river. It lies on the River Devon, near its confluence with the River Forth.

Fallin () is a village in the Stirling council area of Scotland. It lies on the A905 road 3 miles east of Stirling on a bend in the River Forth. The United Kingdom Census 2001 recorded the population as 2,710.It was formerly a pit village, the site of the Polmaise Colliery 3&4 (Polmaise Colliery 1&2 was situated at Milhall), originally opened in 1904 by Archibald Russell Ltd. At its peak, in 1957, it employed 778 people. During the UK miners' strike 1984-85 it was reputed to be the only colliery in Britain where support was so strong that there was no need for pickets during the whole of the strike. British Coal decided to close the Colliery on 17 July 1987, marking the end of coal mining in Central Region. The village is home to The Goth, a community-run pub and one of the few remaining pubs in Scotland still run under the Gothenburg system.Fallin has been the site of several new housing developments. In 2022 Christmas lights will be erected for the first time - this is being created by the Fallin Community Voice and the PCC -through funding by residents of the village. In 2024 a new community garden project will start in an area of the old Miners site close to the bing - which will link to route 76 bicycle route - along with links back to Stirling

Cambus railway station served the suburb of Cambus, Clackmannanshire, Scotland from 1852 to 1968 on the Stirling and Dunfermline Railway.

Plean railway station served the village of Plean, Stirlingshire, Scotland from 1904 to 1956 on the Scottish Central Railway.

Plean Tower, also known as Cock-a-bendy Castle, Mengie Castle, Menzies Castle and Plane Castle, is located around 1 mile (1.6 km) from Plean, in Stirling, central Scotland. It comprises a small oblong tower house probably dating from the 15th century, and an adjoining 16th-century manor house.

Inch or Alloa Inch (Scottish Gaelic: innis, island) is an island in the tidal reaches of the River Forth near Alloa, just before the river opens out into the Firth of Forth. There is a derelict farmhouse on the island, as the land was farmed in the past. Due to subsidence caused by nearby coal mining, flood defences were breached. The land now consists of reed beds and salt marshes.The Scottish Wildlife Trust has managed the island as a reserve since 1996. The smaller islet of Tullibody Inch lies just upstream.
