RBDS Rubbish Boys Disposal Service Inc. (doing business as 1-800-GOT-JUNK?) is a Canadian franchised residential and commercial junk removal company operating in the United States, Canada, and Australia. The company's business model consists of taking junk or trash haulage, and giving it a "clean" image through branding and marketing.

Windsor Way is a special community street that links four parks and three elementary schools as well as a bike path in East Vancouver, Canada, which was identified as a local Greenway in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage Visioning process. As there was no funding available to turn the many blocks of this street into a local Greenway, the local community worked with the City of Vancouver planning department to implement a demonstration project called "Blooming Boulevards". This demonstration project allowed residents to garden the frontages of their yards between the street and the sidewalk. This section of street contains the wires and ducts of the city, and this was the first time that gardening on these city owned frontages was allowed. The program was so successful that Blooming Boulevards are now city policy and boulevards are now gardened throughout the city.

Great Northern Way Campus Ltd (GNWC) is a private limited company and educational enterprise located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is the offspring of a consortium of four local academic institutions (the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Emily Carr University of Art and Design and the British Columbia Institute of Technology, each of whom own a 25% interest in the company) that has attracted significant public and private funding. The company is the trustee of the Great Northern Way Campus Trust, whose stated purpose is to create "a centre of convergence for arts and culture, digital media and the environment." At present, it manages a Master's degree in Digital Media, which admitted its first students in the Fall of 2007. The GNWC Trust has two principal activities: operating the Centre for Digital Media, which offers the Masters of Digital Media graduate degree, and revitalizing its land parcel to bring together business, academia and the general community into an emerging district for the digital and creative sectors. Eight projects, which include both new construction and renovations of existing buildings, are underway and several businesses in the digital media sector currently rent space on the campus.

The Emily Carr University Library also known as the Ron Burnett Library + Learning Commons is an academic library focusing on art and design-related material located at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design Great Northern Way campus. The library is named after Ron Burnett, former university president. As of 2019, library is fine-free.

VCC–Clark is an elevated station on the Millennium Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is named after the nearby Vancouver Community College (VCC) located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and serves as the western terminus of the Millennium Line.

Penis Satan, also called East Van Satan, was an unauthorized statue erected on September 9, 2014, in Vancouver, Canada. A life-size representation of a red devil with a large erect penis, making the sign of the horns hand gesture, the statue was erected in Clark Drive Plaza, an abandoned concrete amphitheater on the west side of Clark Drive at Grandview Highway North. It was made of mixed materials, including a modified mannequin, and was placed on an empty pedestal that previously displayed a three-foot-tall Christopher Columbus statue (honouring Angelo Branca). Vancouver commuters were able to see the statue from the Expo Line Skytrain, near the East Van Cross, which is located on the opposite side of the tracks.

Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU) (formerly the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design) is a public post-secondary art school and university located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1925 as the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts, as the first degree-granting institution in British Columbia created specifically for students of both the visual and performing arts. It was named after the Canadian artist Emily Carr in 1978.

Great Northern Way–Emily Carr is a planned underground station for the Millennium Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. It will be located at the intersection of Great Northern Way and Thornton Street adjacent to the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in the Strathcona neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is scheduled to open in 2025.During planning, the station was known simply as Great Northern Way. On September 17, 2020, the station was renamed to include reference to Emily Carr University.

Columbia College is an independent not-for-profit two-year university transfer college located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The college is a registered charity and an incorporated Society composed of all Columbia College employees. Columbia College has about 2100 students enrolled from 61 countries around the world. A variety of first and second-year university-level courses are offered to students to complete a Columbia College associate degree and a University Transfer program is offered to students who successfully completed Senior High School. Courses offered in college are transferable to universities within and outside of the province. Moreover, the college provides a High School program and an English for Academic Purposes program which is accredited by Languages Canada.

Strathcona is the oldest residential neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Officially a part of the East Side, it is bordered by Downtown Vancouver's Chinatown neighbourhood and the False Creek inlet (across Main Street) to the west, Downtown Eastside (across Hastings Street) to the north, Grandview-Woodland (across Clark Drive) to the east, and Mount Pleasant to the south of Emily Carr University and the Canadian National Railway and Great Northern Railway (now BNSF Railway) classification yards. By some definitions, Strathcona's northern border is the roads just south of Burrard Inlet, and much of the Downtown Eastside lies within Strathcona. By other definitions, Strathcona's northern boundary is just south of Hastings Street, and the Downtown Eastside is a separate neighbourhood to the north and northwest of Strathcona. The modern official demarcation puts Strathcona's northern border at Keefer Street.Strathcona has long been a hub of immigration and culture relative to Vancouver's more recently settled neighbourhoods. Chinese immigrants, Vietnamese immigrants, and various groups of European immigrants have characterized the neighbourhood's culture. Although Strathcona was historically a working-class neighbourhood, recently, more middle-class and affluent groups have come to inhabit the neighbourhood, attracted by its vibrant community. Strathcona is home to many art galleries, family-owned corner stores, and other small businesses.

Dude Chilling Park is a sign installation, originally created as a prank, which now has official public art status in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is located on the southwest corner of Guelph Park at the 2300 block of Brunswick Street in the Mount Pleasant area of the city. It references the park's sculpture "Reclining Figure".

Reclining Figure is a piece of public art exhibited in Vancouver's Guelph Park since 1991. Created by Denman Island-based Michael Dennis, it is considered "a famous East Vancouver icon" as well as a "focal point of the neighbourhood.""Reclining Figure" has featured in Guelph Park since 1991, leading to its facetious name, Dude Chilling Park. Initially carved in cedar, the original decayed and was replaced by a bronze cast in 2019, thanks in part to several community fundraising activities. An "update" of this sculpture was also exhibited at Van Dusen Gardens in a wood sculpture exhibit in 2013.
