VCC–Clark station

Penis Satan, also called East Van Satan, was an unauthorized statue erected on September 9, 2014, in Vancouver, Canada. A life-size representation of a red devil with a large erect penis, making the sign of the horns hand gesture, the statue was erected in Clark Drive Plaza, an abandoned concrete amphitheater on the west side of Clark Drive at Grandview Highway North. It was made of mixed materials, including a modified mannequin, and was placed on an empty pedestal that previously displayed a three-foot-tall Christopher Columbus statue (honouring Angelo Branca). Vancouver commuters were able to see the statue from the Expo Line Skytrain, near the East Van Cross, which is located on the opposite side of the tracks.

Windsor Way is a special community street that links four parks and three elementary schools as well as a bike path in East Vancouver, Canada, which was identified as a local Greenway in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage Visioning process. As there was no funding available to turn the many blocks of this street into a local Greenway, the local community worked with the City of Vancouver planning department to implement a demonstration project called "Blooming Boulevards". This demonstration project allowed residents to garden the frontages of their yards between the street and the sidewalk. This section of street contains the wires and ducts of the city, and this was the first time that gardening on these city owned frontages was allowed. The program was so successful that Blooming Boulevards are now city policy and boulevards are now gardened throughout the city.

(doing business as 1-800-GOT-JUNK?) is a Canadian franchised residential and commercial junk removal company operating in the United States, Canada, and Australia. The company's business model consists of taking junk or trash haulage, and giving it a "clean" image through branding and marketing.

Rocky Mountaineer Station in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is a railway station which acts as the western terminus of the Rocky Mountaineer train service to Jasper, Banff and Calgary. Prior to 2005, the Vancouver terminus for the Rocky Mountaineer was the Pacific Central Station. The station was originally built for Canadian National Railway as a locomotive repair shed. At a cost of $4M CDN, the building was renovated by Rocky Mountaineer Rail Tours into a railway station, with the first train departing on April 17, 2005.In February 2010, the east and west facades were updated with large signage identifying this structure as 'Alberta Station,' replacing the words 'Rocky Mountaineer Station.' The building reverted to its 'Rocky Mountaineer' signs the first week of March 2010. The temporary signage change was related to the government of Alberta leasing a Rocky Mountaineer train for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Spartacus Books is a non-profit, volunteer and collectively run bookstore and resource centre in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It was founded in 1973. Spartacus sells new and used books, zines, comics, magazines, CDs, videos, T-shirts, patches, pins, posters and cards. Spartacus Books is one of the longest-running collectively run bookstores in North America.It is usually described as a radical bookstore, and among its sections are anarchism, women studies, LGBTQ literature, poetry, indigenous studies and indigenous literature, activist organizing, socialist theory, history, ecology, zines and chapbooks from local writers/artists, a section of non-specialized used books, plus DVD rentals. The building where it had long been located (311 West Hastings Street) burned down on April 25, 2004. The store once again opened for business on February 12, 2006, at 319 West Hastings Street, immediately adjacent to the old location. However, due to the increasing cost of real estate in Vancouver, the store was forced to move again to 684 East Hastings Street. In 2014 it moved out of the Downtown Eastside to 3378 Findlay Street and again in 2022 to 1983 Commercial Drive.

Vancouver East (French: Vancouver-Est) is a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1935. It is currently represented by New Democratic Party MP Jenny Kwan. The riding of Vancouver East is the poorest in Canada with a median individual income of $24,374 (2010). Vancouver East is known as a New Democratic Party stronghold; the NDP and its Co-operative Commonwealth Federation predecessor have won all but two elections in the riding since its creation in 1933. Both losses (1974 and 1993) have come at the hands of Liberal candidates who failed to retain the seat at the next election. The Conservative Party and its right-leaning predecessors have always fared poorly in the riding, rarely garnering more than 20 percent of the vote. In the 2006 federal election, the NDP won a higher percentage of the vote in Vancouver East than in any other riding in the country: 56.6%. In 2011 the NDP increased its majority win to 62.83%.

The Rio Theatre is an independent, multidisciplinary art house in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Built in 1938, the Rio served East Vancouver primarily as a movie theatre until 2008, when new owners began to add live music and multimedia and multidisciplinary art events. The Rio seats 420 people, including a balcony section. The projection room houses both a vintage 35-millimetre projector and a 3D digital projector added in 2010. The venue includes a lobby with concession voted best in 2010 and 2011 for single screen theatres in Vancouver, a large stage, and a backstage greenroom for live performers. Since its evolution in 2008, the Rio has hosted Hollywood blockbusters, local independent filmmakers, midnight screenings of cult classics, the toddler-friendly "Movies for Mommies" series, local and international film festivals, comedy festivals, queer film events, burlesque shows, screenings and tours for local public schools, political events, religious services, spoken word and other live performances, and local and international live music. The Dear Rouge song "Meet Me At The Rio" is about the venue.

Little Italy is an area in the eastern part of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is in the Grandview–Woodland neighbourhood, and is often synonymous with the Commercial Drive area. Historically this area was an enclave of ethnic Italians and Italian businesses. Today, after a period of steady decline, it is again a multi-cultural, vibrant commercial centre.

Commercial–Broadway (formerly two separate stations, Broadway and Commercial Drive) is a rapid transit station complex in Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain system in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It serves an elevated portion of the Expo Line and a below-grade portion of the Millennium Line. It is a major transit hub, with the third-highest number of boardings of any SkyTrain station, and a terminus of the region's busiest bus route, the 99 B-Line. The station was formed by the merging on the previously separate Broadway and Commercial Drive stations in 2009. In February 2019, a third platform was opened in the Broadway segment of the station to increase capacity for Waterfront station–bound Expo Line service in anticipation of increased station traffic resulting from various initiatives, including the opening of the Evergreen extension on the Millennium Line.

Stratford Hall, an independent, coeducational school located on the east side of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, opened on September 5, 2000. The school teaches the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, and Diploma Programmes. Graduates obtain an IB diploma recognized by universities worldwide. Stratford Hall is an 'urban' school located on Commercial Drive, with a separate building for each IB program, and each has characteristics specially designed for students. Common to each building is a sense of openness and student spaces, and for collaboration.

Britannia Community Secondary School is a public community secondary school located in the Grandview–Woodland neighbourhood on the east-side of Vancouver, British Columbia. The school educates its students using a district-wide block schedule program that alternates four blocks every two days. Students are subject to eight different blocks in total. The school was founded in 1908 as the second high school to be constructed in the city, and is now the oldest remaining secondary school. The first classes were held in the Admiral Seymour Elementary School building in September 1908. The school moved to the then partially completed Britannia building in 1910. The school colours of red, green, and white and the school motto "Per Vias Rectas" were adopted at this time. During the 1966-67 school year, a new wing was constructed and now houses the school office. In 1974, Britannia Secondary became Britannia Elementary-Secondary School. Britannia celebrated its centennial in 2008. Situated in the Commercial Drive area of Vancouver, Britannia is a part of a larger community site which includes an elementary school, public library, skating rink, fitness facility and swimming pool. Britannia is also host to many other programs in academics, fine arts, leadership and academic tutoring and support. Nearly 200 courses are offered at the school including 19 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme courses and a Hockey Canada Skills Academy. Britannia athletic teams compete in the Vancouver Secondary School Athletics Association as part of BC School Sports and are known as the Bruins. Notable Britannia alumni include an Order of Canada recipient, a former Premier of British Columbia, and a former Supreme Court of Canada justice.

Great Northern Way Campus Ltd (GNWC) is a private limited company and educational enterprise located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is the offspring of a consortium of four local academic institutions (the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Emily Carr University of Art and Design and the British Columbia Institute of Technology, each of whom own a 25% interest in the company) that has attracted significant public and private funding. The company is the trustee of the Great Northern Way Campus Trust, whose stated purpose is to create "a centre of convergence for arts and culture, digital media and the environment." At present, it manages a Master's degree in Digital Media, which admitted its first students in the Fall of 2007. The GNWC Trust has two principal activities: operating the Centre for Digital Media, which offers the Masters of Digital Media graduate degree, and revitalizing its land parcel to bring together business, academia and the general community into an emerging district for the digital and creative sectors. Eight projects, which include both new construction and renovations of existing buildings, are underway and several businesses in the digital media sector currently rent space on the campus.
