The Walery Rzewuski Museum of the History of Photography in Kraków (Muzeum Historii Fotografii w Krakowie) is a state-run photography museum in Kraków, Poland, established as the only one of its kind a mere three years before the collapse of the Soviet empire. The venue survived the transition successfully owing to new programmes. The museum building is located on Józefitów 16 street in the Krowodrza district (north-west of Kleparz).The Museum's mission is the collection and popularizing of historical photographs, as well as research and more recently the digitization of images for the online museum. Aside from exhibits and international symposiums, the museum has a collection of early photographic equipment and its own vast library of albums, archives, catalogs, books and manuals, as well as a press room.

AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, AGH UST is a public university in Krakow, Poland.The university was founded in 1913, and its inauguration took place in 1919.The AGH UST is a modern university which focuses on creating innovative technologies. The research profile of the university includes engineering disciplines, exact sciences, Earth sciences, and social sciences, with an emphasis on current priorities of economy and business. The university is one of 10 Polish higher education institutions that has been given the title of a research university.The university comprises, among other units, 16 faculties, a research centre – the AGH UST Academic Centre for Materials and Nanotechnology, and other didactic centres and departments. The Agricultural University of Kraków (Polish: Uniwersytet Rolniczy im. Hugona Kołłątaja w Krakowie), located in Kraków, Poland, became a university by decree of the Council of Ministers as of 28 September 1972. Formerly, it was known as the Higher College of Agriculture, as well as other names, since its establishment in 1890.

Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Polish: Kościół Nawiedzenia Najświętszej Maryi Panny) is a historic Roman Catholic church in Kraków, Poland; located at ul. Karmelicka 19 street in the Old Town. It is the city's first Carmelite Church, hence the name of the street on which it stands.

Krowodrza is one of 18 districts of Kraków, located in the western part of the city. The name Krowodrza comes from a village of same name that is now a part of the district. According to the Central Statistical Office data, the district's area is 5.62 square kilometres (2.17 square miles) and 31 870 people inhabit Krowodrza.

Jagiellonian Library (Polish: Biblioteka Jagiellońska, popular nickname Jagiellonka) is the library of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and with almost 6.7 million volumes, one of the largest libraries in Poland, serving as a public library, university library and part of the Polish national library system. It has a large collection of medieval manuscripts, for example Copernicus' De Revolutionibus and Jan Długosz's Banderia Prutenorum, and a large collection of underground literature (so-called drugi obieg or samizdat) from the period of communist rule in Poland (1945–1989). The Jagiellonian also houses the Berlinka art collection, whose legal status is in dispute with Germany.

The Berlinka ('Berliner'), also depozyt berliński and skarb pruski ('Prussian Treasure'), is the Polish name for a collection of German original manuscripts originally kept at the Prussian State Library in Berlin, which since the end of World War II are held by the Jagiellonian Library in Kraków. The legal status of the documents is subject of an ongoing debate.

The Grand Duchy of Kraków (German: Großherzogtum Krakau; Polish: Wielkie Księstwo Krakowskie) was created after the incorporation of the Free City of Cracow into Austria on November 16, 1846. From 1846 to 1918 the title, Grand Duke of Kraków, was part of the official titulary of the Emperor of Austria.

Galeria Olympia is an art gallery in Cracow, Poland established in 1999, that shows works by contemporary artists. Its name refers to the name of the founder, Olimpia Maciejewska, and to the title of a 1863 painting by Edouard Manet. The gallery is located at Szlak 13 Street in Kraków. Galeria Olympia was established on 4 June 1999. It was located at Koletek Street until 2001, then it was moved several times. Since 2013 it ran in the Podgórze district, at Limanowskiego Street 24/4b. In 2022 the gallery moved to the new address, Szlak 13 Street. The gallery is run by Fred Gijbels Foundation. Each year it organises various solo exhibitions and at least one group exhibition focusing on a given issue. It held events that were part of Photo Month in Krakow and Conrad Festival (exhibition The Great Forties). Exhibitions previews were a regular contribution to Gadający Pies magazine.
