The National Zoo (Malay: Zoo Negara) is a zoo in Malaysia located on 110 acres (45 ha) of land in Ulu Klang,Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. It was officially opened on November 14, 1963 by the country's first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman. The zoo is managed by a non-governmental organization known as the Malaysian Zoological Society and is home to 5,137 animals of 476 different species. It received MS ISO 9001:2008 certification in July, 2007, and is a member of the South East Asian Zoos Association (SEAZA). The president and chairman of the zoo is Y. Bhg. Dato' Ismail Hutson.

Fairview International School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school that was founded in Kuala Lumpur. It was established in 1978. It moved to its headquarters in Wangsa Maju (KL) from its Ampang campus and it also has campuses in Subang Jaya (Selangor), Penang Island, and Johor Bahru. The school opened a new campus in Ipoh in 2014. Notable alumni include, Han Jisung of South Korean Boygroup Stray Kids.

TAR EC College, abbreviated as TAR EC, is a non-profit, private early childhood education college in Malaysia, registered with Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). It is located in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, adjacent to Tunku Abdul Rahman University College Kuala Lumpur Main Campus. The institute was established in 1993 and was the only private and non-profit institution of higher learning, concentrating solely on pre-school teachers’ training in Malaysia. Over the past 19 years, more than 2,500 pre-school teachers have graduated from the institute. On 1 November 2015, TAR EC College signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with National Pingtung University (NPTU), Taiwan to allow graduates from early childhood education further studies in this university.The institute also have partnership with professional bodies such as Early Childhood Care and Education Council and Association of Professional Early Childhood Educators Malaysia.

Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, abbreviated TARUMT, is a non-profit, private university in Malaysia. Named after the country's first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, the school was founded in 1969 as Tunku Abdul Rahman College (or TAR College) by the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA). On 2 May 2013, it officially became a university college, known as Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC). On 12 April 2022, TAR UC was upgraded to a full-fledged university and renamed as Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT). TARUMT is one of the largest and oldest institutions of higher learning in Malaysia with more than 220,000 students having passed through its doors. TARUMT's main campus covers 171 acres (69 ha) at Jalan Genting Kelang in Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur. The university also has five branches across Malaysia, in the states of Penang, Perak, Johor, Pahang and Sabah. The first branch campus, in Penang, began at a temporary location in 1994 before moving to Tanjung Bungah five years later. The second and third branch campuses were founded in Kampar, Perak and Johor in 1998, and the Pahang faculty branch was established in 1999. The Sabah faculty branch was founded in 2002 in Sabah, East Malaysia. TARUMT obtained SETARA 5-Star rating for the year 2018/2019 by the Ministry of Higher Education, in its inaugural participation.

Setapak is a mukim in Gombak District, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Formerly a tin-mining and rubber-growing area, in Malay tapak means 'step' so Setapak means 'one step', probably referring to the close proximity of the suburb to Kuala Lumpur. Another explanation of the origin of its name traces to its historical roots.

The Klang Gates Quartz Ridge (Malay: Permatang Kuartza Genting Klang) is a quartz dyke that runs through northeast of Kuala Lumpur and the state of Selangor, Malaysia within Bukit Lagong-Kanching-Klang Gates region. With the dimension of more than 14 km long and 200 m wide, it is the longest quartz formation in the world. The other major quartz vein in Kuala Lumpur is along Kajang-Cheras road, which is about 8 km long, however the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge is one-of-its-kind because it has four types of quartz formation. The area has five endemic plants species among 265 species, found nowhere else in the world. A rare animal, the serow is found here as well. Despite being one of the most unusual geological formations in Malaysia, the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge has little conservation and currently being threatened by urban development. More recently, the proposed East Klang Valley Expressway became the latest threat towards the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge, as the expressway alignment may pass through the quartz strip.

Klang Gates Dam (Malay: Empangan Klang Gates) is a dam in Ulu Klang, Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. It is also known as the Bukit Tabur Dam. Completed in 1958, the dam is the first dam in Malaysia for water supply. It is a concrete arch dam with a spillway in the centre. The reservoir impounded by the dam is one of the major sources of drinking water for residents of the Klang Valley, where the national capital, Kuala Lumpur, is located. The dam capacity is 25,104 million liters. The Bukit Nanas water treatment plant takes raw water from this reservoir and produces 145 million liters of treated water per day. During the 2014 water crisis, capacity dropped as low as 54% in 2014, providing only approximately 80 days of water supply.Beside the dam is Klang Gate Ridge, the largest quartz ridge in the world. Split into two sections known as Bukit Tabur West and Bukit Tabur East, the ridge is 200m wide and has a total length of 22km. It is unique for its sheer size as well as for its four types of quartz formations. The ridge is rich in vegetation, supporting at least 265 plant species including 5 endemic ones. A rare animal, the serow (a mountain goat), is also found on the ridge.

Setiawangsa is an eastern suburb in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, located less than 4 kilometres from the city centre and located right next to Ampang. Puncak Setiawangsa and Bukit Setiawangsa is a neighbourhood positioned high up on the hills in the midst of a quiet surrounding, just minutes away from the hurly-burly of the city centre. Setiawangsa caters to some Malaysians and expatriates. Bukit Setiawangsa/Setiawangsa Heights is dubbed as the Hollywood Hills of Kuala Lumpur. The lists of tenants here is changing daily, due possibly to the easier traffic flow (helped by the new Duta–Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE)), competitive rentals and accessibility between KL, Petaling Jaya and other suburbs. Firms such as Texas Instruments, I & P, Right Balance Group, Fidin Universal, Tanjung and RB Helicopters all have their operational bases in Setiawangsa. Japanese retailer JUSCO also has one outlet operating here in AU2 since 2008.Setiawangsa's parliamentary constituency is currently led by Nik Nazmi of PKR.
