Klang Gates Dam

The Klang Gates Quartz Ridge (Malay: Permatang Kuartza Genting Klang) is a quartz dyke that runs through northeast of Kuala Lumpur and the state of Selangor, Malaysia within Bukit Lagong-Kanching-Klang Gates region. With the dimension of more than 14 km long and 200 m wide, it is the longest quartz formation in the world. The other major quartz vein in Kuala Lumpur is along Kajang-Cheras road, which is about 8 km long, however the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge is one-of-its-kind because it has four types of quartz formation. The area has five endemic plants species among 265 species, found nowhere else in the world. A rare animal, the serow is found here as well. Despite being one of the most unusual geological formations in Malaysia, the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge has little conservation and currently being threatened by urban development. More recently, the proposed East Klang Valley Expressway became the latest threat towards the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge, as the expressway alignment may pass through the quartz strip.

Taman Melawati is an affluent, self-contained town located in Ulu Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. Although the township's postcode is 53100, which gives it a Federal Territory postal address, it is actually in the Gombak constituency of Selangor, administered by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ).

Kampung Sungai Pusu is a small village in Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. This village is located near International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) main campus.

Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) is the law faculty of International Islamic University Malaysia. Previously known as the Kulliyyah of Laws, it was renamed in 2000 in honour of its founder and ex-Dean, professor Ahmad Mohamed Ibrahim. Being the first faculty formed together with the university, it is now one of the largest law schools in Malaysia and has produced thousands of law graduates since 1983. Classes are taught in English and Arabic. However, Bahasa Melayu is also taught to students to equip them with the understanding of legal jargons in the national language. The majority of the students are Malaysians.

The International Islamic University Malaysia (Malay: Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia; Jawi: اونيۏرسيتي اسلام انتارابڠسا مليسيا; Arabic: الجامعة الإسلامية العالمية بماليزيا), also known as IIUM, is a public university in Malaysia. Headquartered in Gombak, Selangor, IIUM has six other campuses all over Malaysia: two medical-centric campuses and a Centre for Foundation Studies in Gambang, Pahang, two city campuses in Kuala Lumpur, and a language and tourism campus in Pagoh, Johor. The university is sponsored by eight governments and the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC). It is distinct from the International Islamic University Islamabad, Pakistan and International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh. The university was established on 23 May 1983 and founded upon Islamic principles. Islamic values are inculcated into all disciplines. IIUM offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees courses at its 14 faculties or "Kulliyyah" ("Kulliyyat", in plural). Since 1987, IIUM has produced more than 70,000 graduates and undergraduates from more than 100 countries around the world. Most of them were from Malaysia.

The 1998 Klang Valley water crisis occurred in Malaysia in February 1998 when the three reservoir dams in Klang Valley, Klang Gates Dam, Batu Dam and Semenyih Dam suffered a substantial drop in water level following the El Niño phenomenon. The subsequent water shortage affected almost all the residents in the Klang Valley causing the government to impose water rationing prior to the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. The shortage was blamed on El Nino despite actual rainfall in the months leading up to February 1998 in Federal Territory not being significantly below average. In fact in November 1997, Klang Gates Dam had its highest recorded rainfall. Similarly in October 1997 the Kajang station not far from the Semenyih dam had its highest rainfall in record.

Malaysian Institute of Art, abbreviated as MIA, was founded in 1967 as a higher art education provider and accredited by the Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education.MIA provides courses in the field of creative art and music with course contents at its own campus located at Taman Melawati, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Compared to other arts institutions in Malaysia, they focus more on drawing, painting and other visual arts.Several Piala Seri Endon prize winners have come out of MIA.

Gombak (previously known as the Terminal PUTRA LRT station) is an LRT station in Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. It is the northern terminus for the RapidKL Kelana Jaya Line. There is a ticket counter for buses to Genting Highlands, with buses departing to the Genting Skyway station every half-hour. These buses belong to and are operated by Resorts World Berhad and therefore bear their logo on it. This station is normally utilised by residents of Kuala Lumpur, especially those living around Setapak area when they are going to Genting. The Gombak toll plaza, the beginning of the East Coast Expressway (LPT) , is one kilometre north from this station. Currently this station is the northernmost in the RapidKL rail transport network.

The National Zoo (Malay: Zoo Negara) is a zoo in Malaysia located on 110 acres (45 ha) of land in Ulu Klang,Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. It was officially opened on November 14, 1963 by the country's first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman. The zoo is managed by a non-governmental organization known as the Malaysian Zoological Society and is home to 5,137 animals of 476 different species. It received MS ISO 9001:2008 certification in July, 2007, and is a member of the South East Asian Zoos Association (SEAZA). The president and chairman of the zoo is Y. Bhg. Dato' Ismail Hutson.

VTAR Institute, abbreviated as VTAR, is a private vocational college located at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. VTAR Institute was formerly known as Institute Jayadiri which was founded in 1992 as a community project of Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad and conducts its classes in some shoplots in Old Klang Road. Then in 2000 Institute Jayadiri was relocated to Wisma MCA and renamed Kojadi Institute. In 2014, the President of MCA approved the relocation of Kojadi Institute to Tunku Abdul Rahman University College in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur in the hope that this new premise will have a more conducive environment for the students. VTAR is the first private institute in Malaysia received the approval from Energy Commission (ST) to offer Wireman Course (PW2). In 2011, VTAR was rated 4 star rating from Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK).On 17 March 2015, VTAR signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TransWorld University (TWU), Taiwan to allow graduates from Beauty Therapy or Hairdressing further studies in this university.On 27 September 2019, VTAR is an approved UK's Highfield Qualifications training centre.

TAR EC College, abbreviated as TAR EC, is a non-profit, private early childhood education college in Malaysia, registered with Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). It is located in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, adjacent to Tunku Abdul Rahman University College Kuala Lumpur Main Campus. The institute was established in 1993 and was the only private and non-profit institution of higher learning, concentrating solely on pre-school teachers’ training in Malaysia. Over the past 19 years, more than 2,500 pre-school teachers have graduated from the institute. On 1 November 2015, TAR EC College signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with National Pingtung University (NPTU), Taiwan to allow graduates from early childhood education further studies in this university.The institute also have partnership with professional bodies such as Early Childhood Care and Education Council and Association of Professional Early Childhood Educators Malaysia.

Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, abbreviated TARUMT, is a non-profit, private university in Malaysia. Named after the country's first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, the school was founded in 1969 as Tunku Abdul Rahman College (or TAR College) by the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA). On 2 May 2013, it officially became a university college, known as Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC). On 12 April 2022, TAR UC was upgraded to a full-fledged university and renamed as Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT). TARUMT is one of the largest and oldest institutions of higher learning in Malaysia with more than 220,000 students having passed through its doors. TARUMT's main campus covers 171 acres (69 ha) at Jalan Genting Kelang in Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur. The university also has five branches across Malaysia, in the states of Penang, Perak, Johor, Pahang and Sabah. The first branch campus, in Penang, began at a temporary location in 1994 before moving to Tanjung Bungah five years later. The second and third branch campuses were founded in Kampar, Perak and Johor in 1998, and the Pahang faculty branch was established in 1999. The Sabah faculty branch was founded in 2002 in Sabah, East Malaysia.
