Taman Keramat is a township in Ulu Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. This township is located between Kampung Datuk Keramat, Keramat Wangsa and Setiawangsa in Kuala Lumpur side. Keramat is served by two light rail transit stations (the Jelatek and Setiawangsa stations) as part of the Kelana Jaya Line. Fairview International School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school that was founded in Kuala Lumpur. It was established in 1978. It moved to its headquarters in Wangsa Maju (KL) from its Ampang campus and it also has campuses in Subang Jaya (Selangor), Penang Island, and Johor Bahru. Many major landslides occurred due to the soil erosion that occurs after heavy rain. This taman also recently added a guard house. This security system included motorcycle rounding. This is a gated community.

At around 5:10 am on 14 September 2017, a fire occurred at the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah madrasa in Kampung Datuk Keramat, Kuala Lumpur which resulted in 23 of the madrasa residents (comprising 21 students and two teachers) killed, while five others reportedly injured.Based on the investigations, there was a quarrel between the madrasa boarders and a group of seven teenage boys who enters the area to suck the drugs they purchased, prompting them to burning the building. All of the seven troubled teens were expelled from school following a numerous of serious discipline offences. Further causes were inluding a firework assault against them by the same teens and a quarrel over who will use the futsal court between two parties.

Ulu Klang (alternately Hulu Klang, Hulu Kelang or Ulu Kelang, is a mukim and a state constituency in Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. It is one of five state constituencies administered by Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya (MPAJ). It includes Zoo Negara. Several landslides have occurred in this area, forcing people mainly living in flats to evacuate; one notable incident is the Highland Towers tragedy in 1993.

The AIA Building hostage crisis took place at the AIA (American Insurance Associates) Building in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 5 August 1975. The Japanese Red Army took more than 50 hostages at the AIA building, which housed several embassies. The hostages included the United States consul and the Swedish chargé d'affaires. The gunmen won the release of five imprisoned terrorists and flew with them to Libya.
